Has anyone got the Shutdown plugin working on Windows XP SP2 using the MVP. I get the option on the main menu and can make a selection but then it immediately fails with the error "Privilege not held"

I have tried chaging the run user for the GBPVR recording service to my own User ID (an Administrator); this fixed problems with not being able to access files on network shares in second and subsequent instances of the MVP server, but didn't fix the shutdown problem. I'm not a C# expert and anyway I don't have a copy of VS .Net 2005 with which to try debugging the plugin.

Any ideas?

i just spent 2 hours searching google, and i cant seem to find a way to eject a cd/dvd drive in c#. anyone know how to do this?

i need to eject a dvd for the dvd copy method im writing for the moviedb plugin, it creates a dvd iso via dvddecrypter and then i need to eject the dvd and then wait for it to be closed again (i think i can do this with directory.exists method, not sure if it will work on a blank dvd thou) and then open up dvd decrypter again and write the dvd image.

i have to eject the dvd before i open up dvd decrypter again, because if you use the same drive, and a writable dvd isnt in the drive the program will just quit.

i know this isnt really gbpvr related (more C#) but i cant find the answer anywhere and was hoping someone might know.

Can a plugin tell if it is running on an MVP

I'm trying to work out why jukebox plugin doesn't update slider when its on the mvp even though everything is selected in the config screen [which you are not supposed to do] if you're running on the mvp

I'd like more control in the web interface...

1) season record
2) delete existing recording
3) Search guide
4) Sort by date recorded or recording title

I have a Samsung NTL STB, which gets very hot.. and I can't ask people to leave it on at all times because of its heat... and I scheduled a few recordings this evening whilst everyone was out...... and they turned it off! So recording 'failed'. If the recording knows it 'failed' then it must know that it is getting no signal, so is there a way to get GB-PVR to send the 'on' IR code for my STB when it tries to record and gets no signal?
Does anyone know any clever Girder trick to accomplish this? In fact, it would be even better if a Girder trick was known, because I'd probably need it to turn the amp off aswell so if I schedule a recording for 3am the sound doesn't suddenly come blaring on (people turn off the STB, realise the sound has gone and (fair enough) leave the amp on because they have no reason to do otherwise!.

Sub, is an event message sent (i.e. no signal?) that would enable me to write my own plugin to fix what may be a very specific problem to me (anyone else?)?

I just installed GB-PVR 2 days ago, as I want to upgrade myHTPC with a nice working EPG software and be able to do season recording, manual recording and actually delete recordings form within my HTPC setup.
GB-PVR seems to do that all - real big Thumbs Up for this software!!

Problem:
I am working with girder as remote device interface.
I do nothing more than emulate keystrokes up, down, right, left for the guide page with it.
Using the keys works perfect, but when I kick in the remote with girder (haven't had a chance to test with other devices) with every event the mouse cursor gets actived AND the tv entry under the mouse gets focus, so I am not able to switch on the page in any direction, cause as soon as I select the next entry mouse kicks in again and set focus back on entry under mouse :-(

Is there any way to prevent the mouse to get active?
Doesn't happen with myHTPC, only in GB-PVR.
I have not the slightest idea why it get active in the first place, as girder only sends keystrokes to the application...

I have lots of TV shows I want o burn to DVD and I find that the volume on them is about half of normal. Regular TV and the menu on my DVD is twice as loud as the mpeg2 files I have burned. Any adjustment I can do to start recording louder? Anybody know of a good tool to adjust the volume on my mpeg2 files I already have?

I am looking to be able to connect a video camera to a PC, using a firewire connection (or video), and have the PC show the video stream with a minute delay. If not a video camera then a USB web cam. Is GB-PVR capable of accumplishing this? If so how? If not any suggestions?

Ok so let me start out by stating I'm an old shool Tivo user. I've opted for GB-PVR for as my backup recorder but who knows someday it may replace it Here are some items I would love to see added / changed. I've been reading the forums and don't recall seeing these items, but I'm sorry if they are duplicates.

- Within the Search Guide - Allow more letters of a show to be selected or use Channel Up / Down to scroll a page at a time. I wanted to record Survivor and had to hit down 100 times just to find it in there. (I never know what channel or times things are on.. )

- Within The Search Guide - If you select to record a show that is already going to be recorded by a previous Season Recording show that at the bottom, instead of allowing you to try and record it.

- Live TV - Enable the record button on the remote so it records the show you are currently watching from that point forward.

- Live TV - Add button on the remote to allow you to jump to LiveTV no matter where you are.

- Live TV - While in MiniGuide allow user to look ahead in time.

- TV Guide - Enable Channel Up / Channel Down as Page Up and Page Down.

- ALL Screens - Allow Up arrow to go to the last selection. Some screens act tihs way, other don't.

I'm looking for a way to record something that is current ON LiveTV. The record buton doesn't seem to do anything while I'm watcihng the show (I'll add that to the wishlist) and if I go into "Search Guide" and do a quick record on that show, the show never records. It appears on the Recordings screen as pending but never records. I now have two recordings I tried to record this way and now I that I can't delete them either. The shows are scheduled to record in the past and if I select Cancel, it doesn't delete the schedule.
