  Error while configuring
Posted by: patsfan - 2004-10-14, 01:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I am in the process of configuring GB-PVR. I am using a Hauppauge 350 as my capture card. I am receiving the following error.

The format of the file, "System.web" is invalid. Any attempts to continue do not work and I have to quit the program. Any ideas?

  Comics plugin
Posted by: jaysonnz - 2004-10-14, 07:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I am having trouble with the Comics (and Weather as well actually) plugins.

When selecting in GBPVR menu, it freezes, I can see internet activity, and after 30 seconds just get message "Error: The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server". I get the same no matter what comic is chosen, and also when trying to access weather.

I am running Zonealarm but dont think its that as this still happens if its not running, and also nothing appears in the log for it.

Could it be to do with popup blocking from Google Toolbar or Internet Explorer?

I recently upgraded to Service pack 2 for Windows XP, could something in this effect it? (I didnt try it before upgrading to compare, and note Windows firewall is off).

Any advice appreciated!  [Image: biggrin.gif]

  new beta software for mvp
Posted by: tkgafs - 2004-10-14, 07:09 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

I have just downloaded and installed the latest software from hauppauge for the mvp 2.2.22281

but the newest dongle.bin doesn't seem to work with gbpvr

it loads up and displays the menu but the remote is totaly dead

there are no error messages in the logs it actually is as though somebody has removed the batteries from the remote !!

the new software seems to run a bit faster when using the default hauppgauge interface

reverting to the previous dongle.bin and everything is fine again

  web pages
Posted by: aegisx - 2004-10-13, 09:36 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (7)

Sub,

Say I want to add a webpage to your set. My dev machine is on a different machine from GBPVR. So using VC# I make a web app thingy, then it wants the URL of the project...

SInce Im on a seperate box, are there permission issues Im going to have pointing it to my seperate GBPVR system?

I tried opening the main web project, but I don't think it is able to open the URL (http://<ip>:<port>/gbpvr..

It really seems like a permission (or allowed extension) issue. I also cannot browse to that file.

Ideas how to fix?

  An idea that intrigues me...
Posted by: srchuck - 2004-10-13, 06:55 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

I wonder if this sounds like a good idea to anyone else here:

A shared catalogue of images for use with plugin skins. The main example the comes to mind is logo images and task images, so we could have a nice image blended in with the background. That way, custom backgrounds could be made per plugin without having to hack together another GBPVR logo, etc etc. Also, that would allow positioning the logo within the background wherever it would be appropriate given the layout of the plugin.

Just my 2 cents worth. [Image: smile.gif]

  ATi eHome Wonder Support
Posted by: tsd - 2004-10-13, 04:21 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I'm inches from buying an ATi eHome Wonder from newegg ($50 cheaper than hauppauge 250mce), but I need to know if it works properly with GBPVR first.

Any experiences?

Also, does the FM support work?

Thanks.
