  Hauppauge PVR150
Posted by: vcampo - 2004-10-13, 04:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Do you know if GB-PVR works with the new Hauppauge PVR150? And, if so, what setting do I select?

  Motorola serial w/ Girder question
Posted by: cwills - 2004-10-13, 12:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (30)

I've setup Girder with the following guide tuned for Snapstream:

http://www.ubiqsoft.com/snapstream/snaps...ct2000.htm

I've also chosen the Girder plugin in GBPVR config, and the Girder and GBPVR internet server port & passwords match. I can successfully test the serial connection as in the guide, and it works perfectly within Snapstream, changes the channels via the serial port.

Within GBPVR, the channels don't change. I'm far from a Girder expert, this is my first time using it. Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong? This is driving me nuts!

  Hardware Decoder/VMR9 Issue
Posted by: MicroSark - 2004-10-12, 11:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi all. This is my first post, so apologies in advance if I've chosen the wrong forum.

Firstly, let me say that GB-PVR is a brilliant bit of software, and I will definately be sending some cash for it. I've paid good money for software that isn't half as good.

Okay, now my problem...

I'm using a WinTV PVR250 with a nVidia FX5200 graphics card which has a built-in hardware MPEG-2 decoder supporting VMR. I'm not sure, however, that GB-PVR is using the hardware decoder for playback. It isn't listed in the drop-down box for hardware decoder device, so I have to select software. VMR9 should be the way - right?

OK, I've done that. Problem is I can pause and re-commence live TV (or playing the recording while it's recording), but can't rewind or fast-forward.

I read in another post that you need to enable SBE to be able to do this, but if I do, GB-PVR reports "Error: Failure playing back file" when I try to watch live TV or playback recordings.

I've also noticed that my CPU usage is higher running GB-PVR to play back recordings than when I use, for instance, Windows Media Player 10 which I know definately uses the VMR/Overlay.

So, 2 questions:

1. Is GB-PVR using my hardware decoder?
2. If not - what are the correct settings to be able to do it?

System summary:
Pentium P4 3.0e (Prescott, hyper-threading)
nVidia XFX 5200 256Mb video card (latest forceware drivers)
WinTV PVR250
512Mb System Memory
Windows XP Home Edition SP2
DirectX 9.0c

Just as an aside, when GB-PVR is recording (without playback) it uses LESS than 1% of my CPU capacity at full high quality DVD res - WOW! Top coding.

Thanks again for a great program.

  auto expire recordings
Posted by: Remco - 2004-10-12, 06:04 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

It would be nice to be able to automatically delete recordings after a configurable amount of time. E.g. i want to record 6 o'clock news daily; but tomorrow it can be deleted automatically. Or to keep just the last 5 recordings of Seinfeld.

Weekly Recording in non Manual mode
Posted by: jorm - 2004-10-12, 03:07 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

When you specify that you want to record a show (non manual recording) you get 3 options.

Record Once, Record Every Episode, Record Every Episode this time this channel.

Most of the time I use the later. However sometimes a show is on two nights during the week at the same time. However I only want to record a show say every Friday at 9pm.

I noticed that in the ScheduledRecording class there is a type called TYPE_RECORD_WEEKLY.

That seems like it might make a useful new recordng type.
So we can "Record weekly this time and channel"

Has anyone used these cards? Will GBPVR support them? I have been looking at the Kworld V-Stream Xpert TV PVR PCI Card (VS-TV878RF) NTSC w/ FM Radio. Any help would be appreciated.

  Windows Server 2003 Support
Posted by: paulcaley - 2004-10-12, 12:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Does anyone know if GBPVR is supported on windows server 2003. I am having problems recording shows, I get the error(s)

VERBOSE Failed to find Crossbar filter
VERBOSE Failed to find Capture filter
VERBOSE Failed to find TvTuner filter
VERBOSE Failed to find TvAudio filter

Whilst trying to record a scheduled recording. I have a USB2 PVR wazza!

I dont know if the live TV feature works on the server as I always connect to it remotely.

Any help appreciated,

Paul

  Recording
Posted by: mcr - 2004-10-12, 11:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi,

Aften updating to newest version i'm got a few problems. ´

A recorded program will not show on "avalible shows" menu, although its on disk?

Also - is the any smart way to delete failed shows? We do not have the PC on all the time, and it takes forever to manually delete "failed" recording from the GUI.

Thanks
