I use GB-PVR just for the skin/additional plugins for MVP (absolutely fantastic work guys) but don't need the recording service - (takes approx 30MB of ram) as I don't have a PVR!
Any chance of having the option of GBPVR.exe running as a service but disabling GBPVRRecordingService.exe.
I know it kinda defeats the object of this, but hey, If you don't ask...
Ive been having some success adapting the Blue TV Guide skin.xml to make it easier to read on my rather small TV.
Ive been able to deacrease number of rows on screen and increased the depth, also adjusted the text sizes and filled the space a bit more to help me see things better
I have moved the guide to the left i am unable to adjust the width of the half hour blocks or the overall width of the guide to fill the space at the right of the screen??
If I have a Net Radio station playing and I go into live TV, no matter what else it always just freezes on a black screen, and I have to End Task GB-PVR and restart it. Is this a bug?
I'm having real trouble with the remote control; the green mini-guide no longer works and when I press 'blue' for information, it always comes up but never goes away again afterwards no matter how many times I hit the blue button again!
I'm using direct access to ir.exe. Any suggestions? Anyone else having remote problems?
Is there a way to add in a hook for the DFX audio processor it supports Musicmatch Jukebox, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Winamp, J. River Media Jukebox and Sonique, and makes mp3's sound like the original cd's without compaction. I am looking for surround sound most of all.
I apologize for needing this to be spelled out,
But could someone tell me how to set up my Capture Source, explicitly. I've installed the program but don't see any EPG Update, nor are there any entries to edit, delete- yeah, can add-but not sure how, obviously I don't have the Capture Source set correctly. I'm using Win2000 and Hauppauge 250 card and am using Basic Cable TV. Does "device number" matter, I only have one, so I set it to device number 1, or is that corresponding to slot number?
Again, any help would be appreciated.
If anyone's read my earlier post, I think my CAT5e is loose and is the reason I lost MediaMVP connect, but since I'm not home yet, can't test that theory. thanks btw for replies
A few days ago I received my lovely new Hush ATX PC. I'll post some pictures in a few days. Excellent machine. Totally silent.
It comes with a FIC P4-865PE MAX motherboard (http://www.fic.com.tw/product/mothe...4-865PEMAX.aspx). This motherboard features a Realtek ALC650 audio chip with AC97 5.1 sound, with a special bracket containing many of the audio connections including a Optical out.
Before this machine, my last HTPC didnt have a DVD drive so I didn't worry about the optical connection. I now want to get the most out of this PC, so want to use this for connecting to my amp.
Can this be setup so all my regular windows audio (beeps, MP3s etc) is played via the optical out? or can it only be used for 5.1 stuff with DVDs etc?
So far I've heard nothing out of this optical connection, not quite sure why. Setting look right, but I must be missing something.
Yes, I realise you guys think I should know all this stuff...
I have GBPVR setup on a windows 2003 server with 768mb ram and 300gb of hard drive space.
I am running gbpvr as a MVP front end only.
i have another setup running on another machine for pvr stuff
but gbpvr offers such a great front end for mvp, that i decided to use it.
my problem is my hard drive light never stops being lit up.
if i kill the gbpvr service that is running, the light goes out and stays out.. if i reboot, and let the service auto start. the light comes on and never goes out.
as a test, i let it run on all weekend. and every time i checked on it, it was still running.
i'm running the latest release of gvpvr, the weather plugin and the net radio plug in as well as a few of the defaults..
but i have no tv encoder card, as this is only a mvp front end.
the hauppauge mvp software is also installed on this machine.
anyone have any idea on why my hard drive never stops, what it's doing? and how do i fix it?
thanks!!!
Ok, I gave up trying to get my cable company to turn on serial controll of the cable box. They now have their own tivo setup and want to sell it. I bought the USB-UIRT and would like to know what are the GB-PVR ,PVR350 settings to allow me to record svideo input and controll the Motorola set top box with the blaster? Just svideo, External tuner then channel changer to use USB-UIRT IR Blaster.
a lot of pvrs out there have asettings menu in the app itself, like media portal, xbmc, etc it would be cool if gbpvr included this feature (sub is probably already doing something about this, or on his huge todo list). just basic setup like skin, screen calibration, recording settings, show id3 tags, etc.
also be nice to include the "My" thing like windows, since is a windows app, it does work like my tv, my movies, my pictures, my email. just makes the app tie in nicer together
on what does everyone think of media portal? its pretty but i find slower and less stable, i wish a good designer designed some good skins for gbpvr to make it really shine, i my self suck at designing stuff, so yeah anyone whos good please make a nice skin, like project mayhem for xbmc or the mce skin
