I'm not a developer, (this may even be the wrong place to ask this) and I'm fairly new to the whole PVR thing, but has anyone considered developing a plug in to be able to surf the net thru GB-PVR? [Image: wow.gif]

  SBE Issue
Posted by: zed - 2004-10-04, 03:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

When I select Use SBE If Available in config, I get a black screen in Live TV. When not selected, it all works fine. Not a big deal, but I'm wondering what the problem is. I'm running XP Pro, SP2, altho it was also happening pre-SP2.

  GBPVR with MediaMVP problem
Posted by: ryan - 2004-10-04, 03:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hopefully someone can help...
Had Hauppauge 250 installed on my Windows 2000 and Hauppauge MediaMVP connected to my TV, both working pretty well.

I liked the idea of programming from the TV that's available with GBPVR (as seen on byopvr.com). So tried to install GBPVR tonight.

However as I started the install, I noticed my router port for the MediaMVP is no longer lite up? Would the reprogramming installed by GBPVR cause this?

Also, I'm to hit a EPG Update button to show the channels, but there isn't any button as stated on my GBPVR Config screens: Capture Source (GBPVR v0.21.4).

If anyone could help, it'd be appreciated.

Other considerations: I originally had an error for not having installed DMAC 2.6 first, but that's done now.

Also the Config screen asks for Hardware Decoder Device, but 250 isn't an option, I thought PVR250 had decoders.

  Xcard Scart Support
Posted by: steele - 2004-10-03, 10:53 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I would like to request support for the use of the onboard scart connection (J2) for use in GB-PVR. This does not work as far as I can make it.

Kind Regards

Steele

Just reinstalled and it works if I select composite/s-video, thought it would be the component rgb.

Please close topic, sorry sub

  Videolan and other media players
Posted by: aegisx - 2004-10-03, 10:39 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Videolan allows you to stream video out to the network.

So what we could do is on the web pages, make the title of the show (in manage recordings) a link, to the mpeg on disk. This way you can use any media player to watch from a computer (like one with a videolan player).

  Daylight Savings Time button
Posted by: Bizarro - 2004-10-03, 09:24 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

It may not mean much to those that don't have it, but having to reset the TV guide times twice a year is a pain in the ass. If it was easier to do than what it is, that would work too. But the best for us US market users would a selection to set for using or not using daylight savings time. Windows has it built in so it must be a strong marketing point for some.

  Changing channels with remote
Posted by: johnburton - 2004-10-03, 09:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

I saw a previous post from sub indicating that you can change channels with the remote by entering the number and pushing ok. I can't get this to work. I am using the Hauppauge remote with a PVR350 and have tried to change channels in livetv both on the pc and using mvp - no joy. The numbers come up on then screen and if I push ok the whole thing seizes up. Only way I change is using the up channel and down channel buttons. Am I missing something?

Have installed USBUIRT in the weekend and found it works great. In fact have now got everything I have tried working well inclkuding DVDs, recording etc. Only other problem is with two MVPs running something isn't quite right with stability - but thats another problem.

Thanks

John

  TV Guide changes
Posted by: ragnarr - 2004-10-03, 08:31 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I'm happy to see you are planning to add a page up and page down to the remote control when viewing the TV Guide and also having it so when you press OK on a show in progress it will jump straight into LiveTV.

I have another one related to those.

Currently when you press OK in the TV Guide you get a description of the show and a list of options down the left side like this;

Exit
Quick Record
Record
Watch

My wish is to have it so pressing the Up Arrow moves the cursor from Exit to Watch so that it is quicker to navigate. Or even have it so Watch is the first option (but that may become obsolete if you implement the LiveTV thing)

It would be great if you could do that for all the menus.

Thanks for a great piece of software and keep up the good work.

  Record Quality
Posted by: MrBigBird - 2004-10-03, 06:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I recently installed GB-PVR and am having problems changing the record quality. I am using a pvr-250 and every time I change the recording quality, when I go back in it is set to medium. I have tried to change the settings several times, but no luck. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas.

ome advice on USB-UIRT, UK Sky Digital.
Posted by: stu8080 - 2004-10-03, 06:11 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (15)

OK, i habe a great GB-PVR setup that just uses the Five UK terrestrial channels. Because i share a house i cant get sole use of the Sky Digital box we have unless it during work hours, early in the morning or late at night.

What i want to be able to do is to schedule regular recordings from Terrestrial (aerial) that might occur in the evenings (when others are watching Sky) but also schedule recordings from Sky during the day whilst others are at work etc.

I dont think i can have things both ways can i? i can either set 'internal tuner' and get terrestrial or use 'external tuner' and use the USB-UIRT?

Your views welcome!
