I was looking in the Misc section in config, accidentally selected MCE Remote and clicked back and ever since the remote control (Hauppauge) just doesn't work! USB-UIRT flashes when I aim it at that, so it isn't dead. Batteries ok. Plug for Hauppauge remote receiver ok, tried all combinations of ir.exe on/off 'use direct access...' to no avail and checked in irremote.ini in 'C:\Windows\'. One thought; when you change it to MCE remote, does it look for a different file rather than 'irremote.ini', cos it might not be setting back? I've tried replacing 'gbpvr.mdb' with an old backup of a working version (this version of GB-PVR still). Are there any log files that may help me?? The system is rendered dead without the remote!!
Just installed GB-PVR on my A7V333 with Hauppauge PVR-250. Installed the latest PVR250 drivers as suggested. Read the FAQ and examined the forum, but still have some problems. PC is according to specs, with Directx 9b.
1) How to configure channels that are offset (e.g. 48-- or 65++)? (channel manager won't find them)
2) When I click Live TV, the recording begins (mpg file is getting larger) but nothing on screen. Sometimes it starts after a minute or what. Already changed the DVD MPEG playback settings, no effect.
My card is a "lifeview Fly TV Prime 34" sold as a LifeView 3000.
I'm hoping someone can explain the hardware interface to me -- I haven't done any windows programming.
If I use openMC (too beta), beyondtv (too crap) or sesamtv (renders using flash on IE, and is broken anyway) they all come up and detect the card, telling me that I've got the card as described by windows. Given the quality of these programs I don't think they've got direct hardware support for the card, I reckon they're using some windows API to interrogate the system and ask for information about TV cards.
GB-PVR is perfect. It beautiful, it's polished. However, it wants me to choose my card from a (short) list which doesn't include it! However, if I choose the G07007SB recording plugin, I get:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I can continue, then setup a Lifeview tv walker mini or ultra (close enough?) but they also don't work, launching the program gives an exception thrown by an external component.
Is there some magic I can do to work around this, or can anyone recommend better software?
I don't need remote support, or any servers, or cartoon graphics or tv guides. I just want to set different times and channels to record on different days, and the software shipped with the card is ok for tv but crap for scheduling....
Hi !
I am new here and install gbpvr yesterday. Before gbpvr I deinstalled beyond tv 3.5. It was only a trial.
Installation works fine but after power on on my mediamvp I saw only a single green rectangle.
Finally managed to get my system fully set up only to find one last hurdle!
I can use winTV and GBPVR (with the software decoder option) perfectly fine on my computer monitor.
But i want to be able to use the TV out from my Hauppauge PVR 350 card to my TV (using the composite out to scart lead).
When using the TV out with winTV it works fine, i get the picture on my TV and can watch it for hours.
When i start GBPVR (having selected the hardware Hauppauge decoder option rather than software) i can get the GBPVR menus on my TV, and i can select the net radio, weather etc. menu options and they all work fine.
But as soon as i try to watch a recording or watch Live TV from GBPVR on the TV, the display on the TV freezes after a few seconds of playing.
I'm running on a MSI Mega PC 865 with Windows 2000, i used the latest drivers from the Hauppauge website when i installed the card.
I just used the feature that you can start viewing a show before the recording have ended, and I like it a lot!
But, the pending recordings list is often empty (ie black) when I try to view it. Restarting GB-PVR can, sometimes, bring some items up.
Yesterday, on the first restart of GB-PVR, one (of about 10) pending recordings showed up, not the one I was recording though. After a second restart the one currently recording (and I think all other) showed up.
Is there a way to refresh the recording lists?
When are reoccuring recordings added to the pending list?

You know how some TV remotes have a "Return" button which allows one to return to the previously viewed channel, and if you press the Return button repeatedly, it just toggles between two channels?
Admittedly the MediaMVP isn't the most responsive channel surfer when viewing live TV, but that might be a nice feature. Â (Especially as my short term memory gets shorter.)
How difficult it would be to program one of the colored buttons (maybe the red one) on the MVP remote as a Return button when viewing live TV.
I just installed GB PVR and went through the setup configuring everything and setting it up to use my XCard for tv out but when I go to launch the program I get a Microsoft .NET Framework error that says an unhandled exception has occured in your application and I can't start it. Any help is appreciated. I am anxious to try this program. -Rob
