I'm new to GB-PVR so this question may have come up before, but i haven't seen any references to it.
Firstly - what a fantastic piece of software, well done sub!
I'm itching to get a device to change channels on my NTL cable box from my computer, I've been waiting on the USB-UIRT device (from http://www.usbuirt.com) but the web site has been saying out of stock for a while now so I'm looking at alternatives.
I assume the redrat comes with some .exe based channel changer that i could configure to use with the .exe external changer option in GB-PVR? Â Has anyone used this option before and is there any problems with it? i.e delays in changing channels, pop up boxes etc.? (I'm currently viewing on my PC but will use the TV out of my PVR-350 card to feed to my TV later on in case that makes a difference?)
Thanks in advance for any feedback,
Cheers, Alex
p.s. I've checked out the my NTL box and it works fine for non irda signals so that shouldn't pose a problem.
(i already use an all in one remote with it that works fine.)
I'm using PVR350 to output the GB-PVR menu and playback recorded shows to my TV, it's working perfectly but when I tried to playback some other video files with different codec, like divx, xvid, etc..., the TV screen went blank.
I'm guessing the PVR350 CAN'T do the output to TV when the video files are not mpeg1 or mpeg2.
Is it possible to do it? or any workaround that I can try?
I'm planning to buy a display card with TV output as a solution, if it works. Please let me know, if it's gonna work.
if i navigate throught the videos so i can´t see the full Filename (only the first few digits).
The idea was:
Shows the full filename on Bottom when the Video-File is selected.
Version 1.5
- Added Webcam support. Â Fixed-URL images can now be browsed as easilly as any other image. Â
I've just updated the PicturesPlugin so that you can effectively add (multiple) live webcams to your photo collection. Â Just add a MyFavouriteWebCam.url file (the extension is important) in your Pictures directory containing the URL of the webcam you want to link to, and it will display as if it were a static photo (allows zooming, slideshows etc). Â In fact the webcam image is re-downloaded each time you display it.
Thanks to Mike, CodeMonkey, Nicolai and reven for the idea.
Im wondering again what i might be missing... I didnt know if id need Real Player 10.0 installed, but the problem persists when i do install it.
I have the most recent download (of GBPVR) and see no other posts with similair problems so im at a loss as to why it does not like the files.
Anyone any suggestions? Im a total newbie so its always the simple things i fall down on!
I've just started using GBPVR with my new PVR350 card. Thanks for a fantastic program. I love it...
but, what would be really nice is if it could remember the last-watched position of each programme. I have Sky+ on my main TV and this is a really useful feature that it has. Would be great if GBPVR could do the same. I suppose it depends on whether the movie playback APIs support random access.
Id like to see folders/groups for the recordins, so if I have 5 recordings of show X, they fall under a folder name X. Would help keep the clutter down. Of course this feature could already be in there and I haven't seen it...
When I play a dvd no submenu (through green, red, blue etc, or whatever button on the Hauppauge remote)is available. When I push "menu" I get back in the main menu. I'm using the Scan Skin currently.
It is slightly annoying since I can't get to chosse subtitles.
Of course I can play directly in the X-cards player, but that's no fun.
I don't know where this post should go, in the hardware section or the wishlist section. First, I would like to know which boards are exclusively Media Center Edition boards, which boards are exclusively Windows XP and which work in both Media Center and Windows XP (like the 250MCE).
Secondly, I think it would be helpful for people exploring the sight that this information is posted next to the list of compatible hardware. I just bought a board that won't work in my computer which I am now reselling on Ebay. I'm not bitter; I'm just annoyed that it's so hard to find out which boards I can use.
