  Movielist and IMD plugin
Posted by: arttext - 2004-09-26, 09:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've got two problems with the movie list plugin and the dvdlist program:

When you copy the imdb link http://us.imdb.com/title/ into the proper field in the GUI the GUI cuts off HTTP:// and saves us.imdb.com in mydvd.xml, so later the plugin finds no "www" or "http" and says that there's no link.
To prevent this you need to replace "us" in the link with "www" manually and then it works. But I think it's a bug.

2. I don't understand how to edit and to put up a friends list. I don't understand the instructions. I tried to edit it but that doesn't seem to work.
But maybe someone did set this up and can help me out here.

BTW, Sub, don't look into this one, I get it that you need your time desperately, and I'm sure somebody else can help me out (it's not that pressing)

Oh, and the export facility in the GUI doesn't work either

cheers, arttext [Image: smile.gif]

FM Radio: Failed to connect, PVR-350 & 250
Posted by: pancapangrawit - 2004-09-26, 06:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

this is a cool programme. I have one remaining big problem though: when I try to access the FM Radio, GB-PVR tells me that it "Failed to communicate with GB-PVR recording service" (while the hardware is recognized well in TV-mode). I'm using Version 0.214, and have two capture bords, a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 and a 250, both retail. Other Specs: Windows XP SP2, latest .net, DX 9c, Nvidia FX 5600, Hauppauge driver 1.1.8.22254. I have entered a few existing frequencies in the GB-PVR configuration-dialogue. The radio is also not recognized if I disable the PVR-250 in the hardware manager (emulate single-tuner). In that stage WinTV radio allows to access the radio.

Best

  Ports & Security
Posted by: JaxChris - 2004-09-26, 03:51 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

In one of the future releases could there be an option to make GB-PVR work in an "Offline Mode"? I run my system with 0 Open/Listening ports and now GB-PVR has 8 ports going while it's idle or open. Why are those ports left open? Could there be an option to close them up please? It can still open a port whenever you have it set to grab your EPG data, but then close it after.

Feedback on the idea and some discussion would be nice to see on this. Thanks in advance.

  Picture plugin appearance

is any one getting a proper sizing on jpeg pictures? my screen has black bars on the left and right of screen and the picture is squeezed in from the sides. like horizontal squeeze. Perhaps the author of the plugin could massage the code a bit! [Image: rock.gif] [Image: rock.gif] [Image: rock.gif] [Image: rock.gif]

  using Jreceiver for music
Posted by: Lucas_24 - 2004-09-26, 12:01 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Just wondering if anyone has ever used Jreceiver for anything.  Before I found Media MVP's I was using Rio receivers.  The software that came with them was pretty bad and I found a group of people who wrote a new interface for them.  Rio receivers are on a similar principle as MVP players, but for music only with a small LCD display.  At any rate, Jreciver appears to be a front end for music organisation and retrieval.  It allows you to create dynamic playlists, and I believe also streams media to other applications.  Jreceiver searches an MP3 database using ID3 tags, and you can create dynamic playlists such as genre = rock or genre = pop.  As you add music of this type the playlists automatically grows.  Really neat actually.  the only downside of this is that it's not an easy install.  there are a few components that have to be installed to make it work.  Anyways check it out:

JReceiver

Forgot to mention, the web site also has an SDK for Jreceiver.

Is it possible to show the current system time on the TV-Guide screen? Also I notice that the info bar is not really 'on time'. It was 6:45 and showing the info for the show on at 6:00.

  GBPVR on MVP issues
Posted by: aegisx - 2004-09-25, 09:54 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

Seems I sometimes can get the GBPVR to come up, other times its the default detting. Also when I do get the GBPVR to come up, when I choose a menu item, it goes back to the MVP "connecting to server" message.
