If I rip the ecryption from my dvd's when I make my ISO's on my hard drive, will the the PVR-350 use the hardware decoder for TV output? Â Will the PVR-350 use the hardware decoder for computer screen output as well, or does that have to be decoded by the computer CPU?
anyone know of a gfx card like a radeon 9600 or something which has widescreen out via s-video or composite? proper widescreen like actually does a resolution like 1600x900 (of course not that high but same ratio 16:9), and not widescreen with black bars?
and can this be stretched to remove the black border that many cards produce?
i need a gfx card for new pvr but i dont want to buy a card and find out it cant do something perfectly, so if anyone has first hand experience with a widescreen tvout gfx card could you please reply with brand model etc (not sure if like lifeview and errr other brand, you know how there are many brands but same chipset all called like radeon 9600 (well is like that for the nvidia anyways), have different settings)
i know people have made more skins, and ive seen a few in the forum, but is there a page to download all available skins? if there isnt sub can you please add a page for this.
or am i just really stupid and skipped right over it?
does anyone have experience with pop3/smtp protocols, actually writing them or implementing them, cos a little email plugin in would be cool, even if it only allowed plain text emails without attachments or something, since pop3 and smtp are fairly simple protocols shouldnt be that hard to do, probably be best not to delete the msg off the server when you download them thou, so can collect them off main pc, or just have an option for this.
doesnt need an onscreen keyboard or anything just use for use with a wireless keyboard setup, just think it would be kinda cool.
go real nice with a chat plugin aswell, irc or msn or something, if anyone has any experience in these subjects could you please take it under consideration.
I have a hauppauge 350 and just d/l gbpvr so I'm completely new to it.
My problem is that I have looked through every menu and the config.xml file, but I can't seem to find a setting for specifying where tv playback goes to.
When I select "Live TV", I get a black screen that says "press HOME to return...".
How can I watch TV on my PC monitor? What setting do I need to change?
I had Sealab scheduled for midnight, then tried to enter a manual recording from 10PM to midnight, and it told me it conflicted. I let it cancel Sealab, then tried to reenter Sealab for midnight, and it again said it conflicted. I removed 1-minute padding from Sealab and it still wouldn't go.
How do I look at recurring manual recordings in case I want to delete them. I didn't see it in the Reoccurring list.
Is there a way to put episode name in the filename? It displays in the Pending list.
Hi Sub,
I am currently ripping my kids DVDs to the PC. I have tried running the VOB files through Womble MPEG encoder as outlined in the FAQs but with no success. The audio is always out of sync. To get around this it would be nice if GBPVR could stream DVDs to the MVP. Is this on your to do list? Is it a major undertaking? I know yo're not a fan of server side transcoding. Would this be neccessary when streaming VOB files?
thanks in advance.

I'm just doing some fact finding before I commit to configuring a PVR, options include MythTV but as I hate the complexity of Linux I would like to take the easy route of Windows! Hence my question - does or can, GB-PVR support a digital freeview card like the Haupauge WinTV NOVA-t PCI as well as using the PVR-250 so there are two sources of TV input to select from, in my case freeview and cable?
