Just had my shiny new PVR2000 delivered, and the new version of GB-PVR is missing - Is this the only version that supports it, as I can't get it to work in Live TV with any of the other models
Hi to all. A new and extremely impressed user but am having some issues with the address plugin. The first is how do you add new details and the second is when adjusting the settings in the config I get an error something like "unhandled exception has occurred in your application........object reference not set to an instance of an object".
Hi in case anyone else runs into it I had two issues that I have resolved.
a) With the new MVP built-in service it wouldnt access other computers in my network (as per the change.log), however changing the service to run as a user with appropriate permissions allowed remove music etc to work
b) Perhaps related to my changes in a) I was unable to access the web service, the issue seemed to be something to do with the Windows XP Firewall service on by default with XP SP2, the solution was to add the application GBPVRRecordingService.exe to the firewall exceptions.
If you're one of the many PVR350 users that encounters hard system lockups when using the TV out, could you possibly try the newest Hauppauge drivers and let me know how you get on? You can get them from:
I see slow downs when switching channels or starting up "Live TV". It takes about 4-5 seconds to switch channels. I am using the Haupauge 250 on WinXP Home (AMD 2000XP, 512MB RAM). The channel seems to stutter at times as well when viewed in GBPVR, like my machine can't keep up with the signal.
Another issue is that when I hit the esc key when viewing a channel, I get a black screen that says "initializing channel" but it never goes away. Maybe I shouldn't be using esc to get back to the main menu?
Switching channels seems reasonably fast (and doesn't stutter) using the haupauge winTV2000 program. How can I start to debug this problem?
I just installed GB-PVR and am having problems updating the EPG from zap2it. I have an account there and use it for othe guides but GB-PVR is telling me it's not confugred correctly. I found this in the log file:

Any ideas?
I manually configured a couple channels and the system seems to work...even able to use the MVP...but without EPG it's a pain...
I love the new web based TV guide to schedule programs for the GB-PVR. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a search feature just like those used on tv.yahoo.com, titiantv.com, tvguide.com, etc... It would be nice not only to do a title search but also a full text search that would include the episode title and description.
This is my second time to try GB-PVR and once again it's the XMLTV that stops me in my tracks. I'm using a Hauppauge WinPVR 350 and up to now have been using the supplied PVR software. I'm really anxious to try out GB-PVR and see how it works with my MediaMVP too.
I don't really understand this whole XML TV listings stuff yet and am just blindly following the quick start instructions. Â I'm in Ireland, but since I can't seem to find out any information specific to here, and since much of my channel selection would be UK based I've selected the bleb file. Â I understand (too strong a word) that it's the source for UK channels, and I'm using a Sky Digibox for most of my channels.
However when I clicked on the 'Update EPG' button in the config screen I get two boxes - one telling me it's updating the EPG file and the other an error box saying 'XMLTV: error reading XML. Value cannot be null. Parameter nametring.'
This is all gobbledygook to me. Â Can anyone explain in simple English how to do what's required to get GB-PVR up and running, or is there a layman's guide URL anywhere? Â Thanks.
