I have a SAA7134 phillips tuner called PCChips (nice card) came with WinDVR etc. I also have two Media MVP's. I cannot get live TV to work!? I get the recording icon in the tray to go green but it will not record requested TV programs and also when I try to watch live tv it will give me a "cannot find capture device" error. I have setup timeshifting to be able to watch and record both. This works great with Inter products, but not GB!
1. can someone please confirm what capture settings i.e. Tuner card type, direct plugin etc... I should be using with this card?
2. Is there some trick to giving GB access to the capture driver when using Inter WinDVR?
I really thought I had seen this somewhere in the forums, but I can't find it now with much searching. Is there a way to change the number of channels listed on one screen of the TV Guide on the MVP? I have a fairly small TV (19") and the default (7, at least on my system) makes the text almost too small to read. Of course, this setting would also have to increase the font size of the listings displayed to help. Any suggestions?
Hi,
I am new to gbpvr. Downloaded it last night and got things to work although I did have some problems with zap2it and had some questions.
1. Are there gbpvr log files I should be looking at that might help me debug things and if so where are they located?
2. I had used zap2it with another PVR application but when trying that user/passwd with gbpvr it would take forever and eventually come back with some message about zap2it not being configured correctly. Since I couldnt find the logs I dont know any more information although I did do a test and only turned on one channel (my cable has probably 60 channels) and it would work then; turn on more channels and again not work. Any ideas?
I had previously run xmltv (again for a different application) and was able to load its guide xml into gbpvr fine but looks like it would be better to use the zap2it guide since does gbpvr automatically call up zap2it for updates whereas I couldnt see if it would for xmltv (would I need to batch that on my own?).
3. I also tried the web interface and that was cool. One thing I wish I had in these type of applications was the ability to search by genre (for me it would be movies) from the web interface (or the gui I suppose). TitanTV has a nice guide where you can only choose "movies" and then can fairly quickly scan thru them and program ones you want. Any idea if any plans to add this type of guide searching?
Just some questions from a new user. Just from my initial few hours gbpvr looks to be very nice. Just got to figure out the zap2it problems and try more things out.
PS. Does this forum have any capability for searching?
I'm new and very interested in the software!! I am wondering though,... does GB-PVR support having multiple tuners (say 3 pvr-250s) installed in the PC to allow multiple recordings at the same time? Thanks for the help!
Hi, I have a problem once I ran the north american listing from http://labs.zappit.com with my registered account. All download data from zappit was successful, but once I ran from GB-PVR I saw nothing on the screen except time and channel name. I test them with XMLTV, tv_grab_na_dd and redirect to xml file and check with tv2html perl script, it got it should be. I do not know why GB-PVR could not load. I removed mdb file and restart them, it seems to detect the mdb missing and recreate them. But it turn out to be a problem the same as before for tv data listing could not display on GB tv list.
