  Video files on the MVP
Posted by: chrisw - 2004-09-12, 04:15 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Hi, does anyone know what files/codecs can be played on the MediaMVP. I want to transfer some videos etc and want the most effective compression (but playable on the MediaMVP via GBPVR)

The native MVP software appears to transcode different video types so they can be played, But I assume GBPVR doesn't currently do this. (But I have no plans to use anything but GBPVR at this stage as nothing else seems to come close)

Regards
Chris

  Sound syncronisation
Posted by: chrisw - 2004-09-12, 03:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (29)

I recorded a movie the other night and the sound was about 4 seconds desyncronised from the video.

The system is a PVR350 and the playback was on the MediaMVP.

a) Anyone know what causes this and what can be done to solve it (its not a normal occurance)

b) Is there any program which can be used to offset audio in a file by a few seconds to correct it?

Thanks
Chris

Bits of programmes missing in recordings
Posted by: chrisw - 2004-09-12, 03:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Has anyone else experienced short gaps in recorded programmes missing? In a few programmes we have been watching it skips maybe 10 seconds-a few minutes (hard to tell if you haven't watched it before) and continues on normally after that. I've noticed it a couple of times and unfortunately it can turn a drama into a thriller....

My recording computer uses a PVR350 and my playback is on the MediaMVP (latest GBPVR)

Any ideas?

Thanks
Chris

GBPVR hs made me come over to the Dark Side!

Well, I've just reformatted the linux bootable volume on my PVR box to NTFS for use by GBPVR to store videos.

Thanks Sub, now I've gone from being a Linux freedom fighter to being one of the Borg.

  Service accessing the internet?
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2004-09-12, 01:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

My firewall warns me that gbpvrservice.exe wants to access the internet. What is the service trying to access? This happened after I manually updated the EPG.

Can I navigate through the GB-PVR using a remote?
Posted by: Gemini1706 - 2004-09-11, 07:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I just got my USB-UIRT, installed it and installed the latest drivers.

The thing is, How do I make GB-PVR menu navigation using a remote?
The only spot in the config concerned about remotes is in the channel changer drop down list.. Is this where I need to config it?
What device I need?

I want to use GB-PVR only as a recording box (no LiveTV ...etc.).
Do I need to learn my device (satellite receiever) to GBPVR, and then use the arrows of that device to navigate?

Maybe some article or documentation talking about GB-PVR and remote controls would be very helpful..

Cheers...

  GB-PVR and USB-UIRT don't work for me.
Posted by: blader_se - 2004-09-11, 07:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I can't see how to get USB-UIRT to work for me.

I have two SAT-Recievers, sending to my PC on two channels (A and B) through an antenna wire. I currently use the SAT remote to manually change channels, (while the card still tunes only A or B). EPG works fine with this setup.

Now, I want to use my USB-UIRT but can't figure out how to set it up.

In the config, when setting up channels, I have specified channel A or B for all channels (ie the channel that the PVR-250 should tune in). It seems that this channel number also specifies what is sent by the USB-UIRT, but I think I need to specify that seperatly?!

Any help appreciated.

  XMLTV Setup for Germany...
Posted by: PowerValve - 2004-09-11, 06:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Hi all

First of all, thanks for the good work! nice piece of software.

I am trying to get the Live TV working, but I have no idea how to get a xmltv File for my Channel lineup (Even without EPG Information)

Is there any FAQ or so how to setup those Channel or even get a EPG running? The XMLTV Webpage at Soucreforge seems a bit cryptic for me...

My Lineup: PVR350 and a MediaMVP hooked up to analog cable in Hannover/Germany...

Thanks in advanced,
Uwe

  v0.21.4 (take two) is available
Posted by: sub - 2004-09-11, 05:22 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (19)

I've just uploaded an updated v0.21 release which fixes a few issues from the release a few days ago. Sorry guys.

Download is available from http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR0214.msi

Anyway, the new version includes:

2004-9-12 v0.21.4
- Fixed a couple of navigation errors in the new web site
- Fixed a bug that would cause GB-PVR to show the message "initializing channel" when you try to stop live TV using escape key.
- Fixed a bug with playing DVD ISO files. Some machines required a longer delay between mounting an ISO and trying to play it. This is now configurable.
- Fixed a PVR350 lockup after returning to the main menu.

  Shutdown after recording
Posted by: tweek - 2004-09-11, 04:17 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

As someone who can't keep their PVR on all the time, I would love to see a feature added that enabled me to have the computer automatically shut down after recording a program, say at the end of an evening's worth of recording.

Any chance of this?
