  Windows client?
Posted by: krypton_john - 2004-08-25, 02:02 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (10)

How hard would it be to setup a windows client only install, accessing the back end in the same way as an MVP?

I'd quite like to be watching sports on TV in the study while telling the wife that I'm working.

Cheers,
JohnO

Conexant Fusion 878A TV/FM PCI Capture Card

I saw this on Computer Geeks for $25.95:

http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=TTOM878A

and was wondering if it would make a good second tuner beside my PVR-350.

Perhaps it is a stupid question and not compatible with GB-PVR, but I figured there was no harm in asking.

What language/envirnmnt is used to develop plugins

what is it? a microsoft thingy?
C++?

I hope it is not ".Net" crap, since I do not have time to learn it
(maybe I try [Image: smile.gif] )

Is it an easy scripting lang (kinda like Java ...etc., or Visual Basic for Apps)?

Thanks in advance...

  A couple of notes
Posted by: krypton_john - 2004-08-24, 09:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

When I first ran up GBPVR with PVR250 MCE OEM cards I was just getting black screen and no sound on live TV. There didn't seem to be any error messages in the logs. I then tried to view the video buffer files with MediaPlayer and it complained that it couldn't find a codec to view them. Aha! downloaded the codecs from Hauppauge and that was all sorted.

The other odd issue I get is black & white live TV. However if I exit GBPVR then start up Hauppauge WinTV2000 it is has colour. I then go back and run GBPVR and it is now in colour. Not a major as this seems to fix it until next time I reboot.

Cheers,
JohnO

A winamp style plugin that has ID3 information scrolling on screen and maybe a choice of animations like Winamp's visulizations would be cool. Anyone working on somehting like that?

  Channel Logos
Posted by: joecru - 2004-08-24, 07:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi Sub,

I changed to XMLTV (Was using BLEB UK) for my TV channels for Sky TV UK,but some of the logos don't appear beside the channels.
Do I need to delete the logos in the c:\Devnz\GBPVR\Media\ChannelLogo ,Dir and redownload the XMLTV file again so it picks up the correct logos.
or is there another way to do it.

Regards
joe

  How to edit web files?
Posted by: tankd0g - 2004-08-24, 07:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have a couple of scheduled recordings that I deleted from GBPVR before they actually happened but they still show up in the "manage recordings" screen of the web server. Anyone know how I can delete these from the list? Also what does "stream programme" mean? Is there a way to set up a web stream of the mpg on that page?

No output signal after waking from hibernate
Posted by: Mikkel - 2004-08-24, 06:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi all,
Thanks to sub for the great program.

I have finally managed to get my computer to wake up from hibernate and record, then go back to hibernate again. But I have to restart the computer to be able to watch the GBPVR on my TV. It will only show a black screen. What is wrong?

  XP Service Pack 2 Question
Posted by: kenny - 2004-08-24, 05:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I just received my CD with XP Service Pack 2,

I'll probably do what I usually do and wait a few weeks before installing it,
just to let others find and report the big problems it creates.

However, I did want to ask if anyone knows if I'll have problems with GBPvr.

Thanks

Ken
