My question is more to where do you find the proper IP address for a station. I saw the ".pls" files and I think I could add stations on my own (Unless there is a easy way to add please let me know)

Thanks

  Question about hot keys
Posted by: web_maven - 2004-08-23, 07:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I downloaded the shortcuts but I was wondering if there was a shortcut for the main menu. e.g. If I press <G> on the keyboard GB-PVR goes into DVD mode and if I press <T> it goes into TV mode. Since you could add things to the menu and you assign a shortcut to Weather?

This would make using a Remote and Girder easier I can just program my remote and switch to DVD mode or TV mode with the touch of a button.

  Version or date on plugins
Posted by: blader_se - 2004-08-23, 07:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

Is it possible to show version or date for all plugins (like the weather plugin) on the plugin page, http://www.gbpvr.com/plugins.html (or in the name of the zipfile or something) so it is obvious if something is newer than the version I've downloaded.

I'm looking for any of the plugin that is supposed to put info on the first page...

/blader_se

This program rocks!

  Is this a silly request?
Posted by: pretorian - 2004-08-23, 04:43 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

Hi guys,

I've been searching the web for an alternative to Media Centre for ages and just came upon this site! - I like the fact that this software is compatible with loads more PVR cards that the MS product!!! but was wondering if ....

To be a truely functional 'Media PC', will GB-PVR support Web Cameras for basic video conferencing (messenger style) (Does it do this already??) - It would be nice to have a video to video link via the TV instead of the PC!

Is this a silly request or do other people have a need for it like I do???

Regards

Pretorian

Is Radeon 7500 PCI with DVI output enough for Sage
Posted by: Gemini1706 - 2004-08-23, 02:39 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I am thinking of getting a Radeon 7500 PCI version (note the PCI, NOT AGP) from a friend for really cheap.
Do you think this would be enough to run GB-PVR (or other media centers), LiveTV and Record Shows and playback DVDs?

I will be doing Overlay only, since my PC (Pentium III 1GHz) cannot handle the processing of VRM (RVM??)

Any limitations, disadvantages I will experience?

Thanks a lot in advance...

  Jukebox Plugin
Posted by: joecru - 2004-08-23, 02:05 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Hi Sub,

It would be good to have a quicker way of seraching a list of mp3 files ,within the Jukebox. At the moment you have to go down the list one by one and choose a song. A pgn down/up option would be good. Also when you skip to a new song, the screen won't update until ,you press the green button again.

Joe

  IInfoPanel  getPanelName()
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2004-08-23, 01:18 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (7)

For the weather plugin for example, I assume this method should return the string "weather".  Is this correct?  How can I find this information out?  For the Blue skin, main menu skin.xml file, the only 'panel' reference is:

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"><SpecialElement name="Panel" panelName="comics" visible="false" loc="500,100" size="180,80"/> [/QUOTE]

even though I do have the weather plugin enabled.

Also, is there a reason to make the returned image 180X80 as suggested in the code? I was thinking of putting the current weather icon and current temp in the panel, but 180X80 seems a little small for that. Is there a maximum size it can be?

  Slow channel changing
Posted by: popabawa - 2004-08-23, 12:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I've just set up GB-PVR and am incredibly impressed at how easy it was to get going. many, many thanks for making this great software available  [Image: smile.gif]

Just one question... when I change channels (in live TV) within GB-PVR, it's incredibly slow, up to about 10 seconds!

I'm using the Hauppage PVR-350, changing channels using that software is almost immediate (1-2 sec's max).

Can I change anything to speed it up?

Thanks.

  V020 Feedback
Posted by: cmills6 - 2004-08-23, 10:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Just would like to say thanks to the author for this release, it works well with my Adaptec USB2.
In South Africa we are very limited with regards to purchasing hardware mpeg encoders &amp; are unfortunately unable to purchase Hauppage products over here.
For any South Africans requiring an XMLTV link here it is http://download.flash.za.org/schedule/zaxmltv.php
My next mission is to try &amp; get my Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe(Hardware mpeg encoder) to work with GB-PVR as i'm currently successfully using it with a SageTV2 trial version which does not support my Adaptec USB2.
I'd prefer to have both encoders working with GB-PVR, will add
PCTV Deluxe to direct ini later today &amp; will let you know the outcome tomorrow. [Image: biggrin.gif]
