overscan?
Posted by: cdhchuck - 2004-08-06, 07:01 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Any way to launch gbpvr with a set screen position? I use overscan on ATI card out and need a bit smaller window than fullscreen. I need about:

/width 755 /height 555 /xpos 28 /ypos 8

Using windowed mode won't do since it positions the window differently each time it's launched.

PS great program! I've had no luck with sage or beyondtv, this one just works. GJ

 FFDShow

How does one get GBPVR to use FFDshow post-processing? I have been using it successfully with Zoomplayer for a long time, but GBPVR doesn't seem to recognize that it's installed even though I checked the box for it in config.

 Just Wanted to Say Thanks!

GB-PVR is a great piece of work. I live in New Hampshire, USA, and I've been looking for some way to have a TIVO like experience on my own PC hardware. I bought the MediaMVP as a way to get to that point without having to resort to hooking up my PC to my TV. This software does just that. Keep up the great work. Sure, there are some things that could be better, but the fact that you are doing this in your spare time makes it even more impressive.

Starting MediaMVP Server from batch file
Posted by: rjmitche - 2004-08-06, 12:11 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

Hi there - I'm loving this software! Great job!

A couple (hopefully) quick questions for you:

1. What would be the correct command to start the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server from a batch file?

2. Is there any way to minimize the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server window to the system tray rather than the task bar? It's too easy for the wife to accidentally close it when it's hanging around in the task bar.

Thanks and keep up the GREAT work! [Image: biggrin.gif]

Recorder service locks up when using IR200L
Posted by: Dee - 2004-08-05, 07:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I've just found this promising application and have been trying to get it functioning on my HTPC. I've found that if I enable the IR200L remote control plugin to try and control my digital satellite receiver that the GBPVR recording service locks up when you try to view the television feed. Choosing live tv or using the guide and choosing watch both result in the lockup. I have to stop the service which results in GBPVR throwing a "cannot connect to service" error but at least it then continues.

Anyone successfully using an IR200L with GBPVR?

PS - While I understand why you leave the recording service recording (easiest way to accomodate time shifting for live tv) I find that the service runs at 60% CPU utilization or higher constantly. Is this expected and/or do you think there may be any optimizations done to lower the CPU usage? Ideally it would be very nice to have the option to stop the service from recording when the user isn't actually viewing live tv or recording a program, but isn't 100% necessary if the CPU utilization could come down some.

Thanks for a great product, it has a lot of potential.

 View record while recording
Posted by: teris - 2004-08-05, 03:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

in the new release I can view a video while recording it on the media-mvp-box.

When I try to do the same directly at the PC, nothing happens.
Is this correct ?

Another idea for gbpvr is a record button while viewing live-tv. So I could directly record the program that I see. (Like the WinTV-Software).

Thanks for help!

Bye,
Sebastian

 .NET Framework errors
Posted by: andydixon - 2004-08-05, 01:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

When I start GBPVR configuration I get the following error from the .NET Framework:

"An unhandled exception has occured in your application.
The .Net Data OLE DB Provider(System.Data.OleDb) requires Microsoft Data Access Components(MDAC) version 2.6 or later.
Version 2.53.6200.0 was found currently installed."

I have installed .Net Framework 1.1

Similarly when I click OK in the config util I get another error:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Anyone else get this problem?

Thanks
Andy

 Visual Feedback/Notification

Now that GBPVR is progressing nicely and functionality is really good, some visual enhancements would be neat and tidy things up.

e.g. like when you push live tv a loading bar comes up till live tv kicks in.

I personally think it would make the GUI alot more polished (and wife proof, she pushes everything multiple times)

But I am aware of the ever growing list of things to do, so maybe for some time down the road.

Keep up the good work
