  setting PVR-250 audio input level
Posted by: Peter K - 2004-08-02, 03:13 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi there.

Does anyone know how to adjust the audio input level on the pvr-250 card when using GB-PVR?

The audio level is fine for for recording television shows my external satellite receiver but I find the audio level is too high coming out of my VCR when I do a manual recording.

I have tried tweaking the scart1_level registry entry but that only seems to work in the WINTV2000 application.  I know I can use that but I'd rather use GB-PVR to do the capture since I prefer the interface.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

  Movie Cover Layout
Posted by: simple - 2004-08-02, 12:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Is there a way to change the number of movie covers that are displayed on screen. The current 3 by 2 format is a little hard to read and would prefer 3 by 1.

Thanks

Simon

Recording Quality and Scan Lines Problem
Posted by: john-purcell - 2004-08-02, 11:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I recorded 3 test programs at different recording quality settings (Low, Medium, and High). The Low is a little grainy, but ok. The Medium is fine.

The High has "scan lines" (probably not the right term) that roll across the picture. It's the same effect you see when you take a "slow/low frame rate" movie camera and shoot a TV screen. The scan lines I'm seeing are not as prominent as this example. The lines I see are more static like.

Background: v.19 w/ Hauppage 350
I've viewed the scan lines on an MVP and via the PC that did the recording -- same on both.

Ideas?

  Transport stream files?

Any chance of getting GBPVR to handle DVBT transport stream files? Or is this something that hauppauge need to address in the firmware?

  Newbie Question on Recoding
Posted by: sphen - 2004-08-01, 08:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello,

I'm thinking of installing GB-PVR, but before I do so, I have a question. Lets say I am watching Live TV and while doing so I decided to record the programme by hitting the record button on my remote. Can I record just part of the programme by hitting stop later on, or do I have to wait for the programme to end? Basically just an instant record function that I can stop when I want like a proper VCR.

Cheers.

Recording Schedule & Time Slot Specific
Posted by: john-purcell - 2004-08-01, 02:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

After installing v.19 I started re-doing my "Season Recordings". All was fine with the "Record Season (all episodes on this channel" entries.

However, when I used "Record Season (all episodes in this timeslot, this channel), the individual shows did not appear in Recordings->Pending OR in Recordings->Reoccurring

Also can the left/right arrows on the "Record Type" be mouse hotspots?

  Log File Babies
Posted by: john-purcell - 2004-08-01, 01:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

It seems that the GB log files are created in whatever directory you happen to be in when you launch GBPVR. This is a bit annoying since I use shortcuts in different locations. I have log files all over my system. Can this be made a little more intelligent to create/modify the logs in the install dir?

Thanks
John

  subtitles
Posted by: playroll - 2004-08-01, 12:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When I include a .srt file for subtitles, I first get this error message: 'DirectVobSub: IPersistStream is no longer supported", it's title is 'vsfilter'. The subtitles do work when I click 'OK'. If I use Windows Media Player, the subtitles work without giving the error.

Any idea what could cause this error message?

  Starting GBPVR
Posted by: chrisjbzero - 2004-08-01, 10:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Given that the TV-out on the 350 card has proved to be a bit unreliable for me I have now got the PVR working well via the TV-out on my Radeon 7500 card.  I can close down GBPVR with the remote using the <close down> plug-in.  However I would like to be able to start GBPVR from the remote.  Is there any way to do this?

  OSD question for MVP
Posted by: insomniac - 2004-08-01, 04:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

So...

Love the MVP progress thus far. Just a couple questions.

I noticed that you have a nifty little OSD that pops up after going to live ty from the TV guide. I was wondering if it was possible and in sight for this same OSD to display when changing channels in live tv?

And if so, is it possible to have the OSD display the numbers as they are pressed?

Also, I have not seen or found a button such as "info" ....which would essentially make the OSD pop up and display channel/show/whatever. Any plans?
Did I just miss it somewhere?

I.
