OSD of channel being typed using remote
Posted by: FilterGraph - 2004-05-17, 11:24 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

It would be nice to see a display of the channel numbers being typed on the remote via OSD.

On my TV, it work like this...

Type in numbers... after about 2 seconds of no input, change to that channel (even if it is an invalid channel).

Also, how about making the back button(on the silver Hauppauge remote) take you to the previous channel you were viewing.

  support Windows shortcuts
Posted by: mjpalm21 - 2004-05-17, 12:28 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

It would be great if the music library supported windows shortcuts.  I have 200-300 CDs ripped into directories by artist.  I programatically create directories and shortcuts that list all the mp3s by genre and artist (by reading the id3 tags).  The problem is that the media library does not "see" the file.mp3.lnk windows shortcuts as mp3 files.  This setup works great with any other standard windows media player (Windows Media Player, WinAmp, Itunes, etc).

  250 Roslyn doesn't work?
Posted by: bubblehead - 2004-05-17, 12:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

hello all

I downloaded 0.17i and installed, after completely removing the 0.16 version.

Every time I go to view Live TV I get the following message.

"Failed to communicate with GB-PVR Recording Service.  This software is possibly not running.  After rebooting, try again.  If the problem persists contact support@devnz.com "

I have checked the service is running, I have rebooted computer and restarted the service (several times)

If I try to record nothing happens.

I am running winxp pro with a pvr250 roslyn card.

I have run beyond tv and verified that the card does work.

I am at a loss, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Greg

  MVP and Remotes
Posted by: john-purcell - 2004-05-16, 08:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm not sure if this is new to v.17 or not.

When I "stop" a recorded show using the MVP Hauppauge Remote, I briefly see a "stop" icon on a black screen. It does not return to the GB menu. At this point the remote is mostly dead. The only thing that works is the Power button. After a MVP off/on cycle using the remote, the remote returns still dead. Before and after the power cycle, the MVP red light blinks like it's getting the remote signal.

Recycling the GB MediaMVP Server gets me back to a working remote. But I effectively can't stop what I'm watching and get back to the GB menu.

Config-wise: The Win-TV Remote is not running and the GB config is set to "No changer". MVP with a 350.

Any ideas?

  v.17 EPG Zap2it Error
Posted by: john-purcell - 2004-05-16, 07:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Just installed v.17
Going thru the config, I switched over to Zap2it
It proceeded to connect to Zap2it and after several minutes of processing produced an error pop-up:

Failure in ChannelFactory:ConfusedtoreChannels(): The INSERT INTO statement contains the following unknown field name: 'sub_title'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly and try the operation again.

My Zap2it info is configured for USA, Zip code 19440, "Comcast-Sellersville" as the provider.

1.7 live tv not stopping with mediamvp
Posted by: yorrick - 2004-05-16, 06:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I just installed 1.7 and I love it so far except... when I watch live tv through my mediamvp and then shut off the mvp or switch to another function like mp3 playback, the process seems to continue on my host computer (or at least the iconn says so). The first time I noticed this, the live tv recording process was taking up 95% of my processor time. In subsequent times, it has not seemed to be as processor intensive. Any thoughts?

  Channel Change Bug v17
Posted by: Jack_GB - 2004-05-16, 04:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Setup: PVR-350, Zap2it listing, USB-UIRT remote controling Sat Box

Issue: First attempted change does not always work using IR control.

Reproduce: 1) Run GB-PVR, select Guide and a channel
or 2) put gb-pvr to sleep with recording sch, channel change is not made.

Problem: Initial channel change is not made. Later changes with the arrow keys or go back to the guide changes work, just the 1st one fails.

  v .17 Zap2it Time off??
Posted by: Jack_GB - 2004-05-16, 02:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I used the Zap2it feature for listings, but the guide is off by 1 hour. Its showing programs as on that dont start for 1 hour.

I tried changing the timezone -7 and -6 but it made no difference?

Any other way to offset it?

  Net Radio
Posted by: phuturetech - 2004-05-16, 12:14 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Firstly - many thanks to Sub for a great piece of software.

I love Net Radio but is there any chance of Real Audio and Windows Media support?
I listen to a lot of shoutcast stations (Soma FM especially) but theres a lot of good stuff on other formats - especially Real Player (its a piece of shit I know, but the BBC dont use anything else).

Secondly - would it be possible to support extra plugins when playing music? I use a plugin called audioscrobbler ( audioscrobbler ) for Winamp and WMP (among many others) which submits the mp3s you've played to an online database. I would never need to fire up winamp again if GBPVR supported this [Image: smile.gif]

Cheers!
