So I finally went out and bought a mediamvp box and an encoder card to use with GB-PVR. I followed the directions to the t, and can't get the mediamvp to connect to the "bootserver."
I have th mediamvp connected by lan cable to my netgear mr814 router which computer is also hooked up to. I have installed the latest hauppage software (2.1.22054), only have one nic which is plugged into the router, have disabled my software firewall, and still cannot get past the "connecting to bootserver" message when the box is turned on. When I go into my router's configuration page and look at attached devices, the mediamvp does not show up. I'm using Windows XP if that helps...please help!
Secondly, can you tell me what audio files GB-PVR will play, specifically if there is any way to play lossless formats (ape or flac). All my music is ripped to ape format on a linux server. I can transcode ape to wav files on the fly on the server if need be but native support of either ape or flac (perhaps even better a way to use winamp plugins) would be perfect.
The channel name column (far left) is too small. Looks like there is room to make it wider by at least 3-4 characters. That would make it look nicer. Right now that column can look pretty bad as you can see from the image. Oops, I cannot directly put a image here so you will have to take my word for it
I have upgraded to 0.17 on two machines and have lost my Channel pictures on both. I am using the same xmltv file as before and have checked that the .jpgs are there and the names of the channels are still the same as the pictures. So from my side nothing has changed as from when I was using 0.16 but the pictures are not shown anymore. Any ideas?
Sub, in the config I would suggest disabling the web scheduler by default. I noticed that it is currently enabled by default. Better to not open that up I think unless specifically requested by the user.
I just installed the latest at work where I have no capture card. I selected the zap2it guide and setup my username and password. But the Update EPG button never went active. What else is it looking for to enable that button sub? I went out and in of the configurator, and the zap2it setup info was still there. But still no Update EPG button.
I used to be able to at least look at the guide before here.
There are probably many folks in the UK who, like myself, are interested in building a DTT PVR box. As a fan of GB-PVR I'm really keen to see DVB -T support included (perhaps Sub has plans to include DVB in the future?), but until then, perhaps a "nearly live-tv" solution could be implemented. Recordings produced by the Hauppauge Nova-t card (amongst others?) can very often be accessed and played (eg by the Media MVP) whilst they are being written, and thus it might be possible to design a simple "almost live" arrangement, perhaps via GB-PVR's Custom Tasks facility. Of course, channel changing would involve stopping then restarting recording - very clunky, but it might work?
Regrettably, I'm no programmer, but maybe some of you chaps are thinking along similar lines?
