Hi
I have installed 0193 it is great i like the bleb option for us in the UK but i am getting this error when conecting via the web interface, i am conecting using this URL http://pvr:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx

Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>

 Some wishes
Posted by: Snifi - 2004-07-28, 11:15 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (12)

Hi, I don't like to make more then one topic, so i list my wishes here:

- Skin Editor (or explanation how to edit skins)
- Language Editor or Language Files (i could make the german and italian ones, because i live in south tirol (italy))
- a tetris-plugin or some other games to play with the remote
- remote control button-config
- possibility to use the remote control also when the GBPVR-window isn't the active one in windows

So, this are my wishes for a better, but just great GBPVR :-) what do you mean?

 Recording conflict
Posted by: mcr - 2004-07-28, 10:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Can't seem to figure out how the app handles conflicting recordings. It seems like it just ignores to schedule a program for recording when another program is scheduled in the same timeframe. Is that correct?

In snapstream you handel conflicts your self by choosing what program to record.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Other than a Hauppauge MediaMVP, is there a way to capture a GBPRO broadcast? ie. the xbox media center? mmc/smb/xns?

 Bitrate Problem!
Posted by: cuxe_ivan - 2004-07-28, 04:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have tried the newest version of GBPVR and I have to say it is a great job!, but I'm having problems setting the video bitrates.... When i try to capture some video I get a HUGE file that eats my hdd space...... for example, i tried to capture an episode of the family guy... which is about 24 min long..., the result was a HQ divx file but the size and bitrate where not the desired....for that 24 min recording I got a 1.75 GB file and when i opened it with virtualdub to figure out the actual video bitrate..., it said that the bitrate was 6500kbs!!!!....
I also tried to modify the personal settings.....and the video bitrate was still too much!!!,,,,,,,... the fact that this software captures audio in PCM format doesn't bug me.......what bugs me is that if I schedule 4 shows of 30 mins each to be recorded on my HDD it will totally eat up my space!!!

Any suggestions on how to change the video bitrate??? I'm trying to capture a decent 2000 kbs video file!... which using DIVX gives me around 500 megs,,,,.....

 GBPVR unstable?
Posted by: Paulp33 - 2004-07-28, 01:02 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (20)

Have just tried the program and love the interface but I can't get it to run reliably. I have the latest MVP software courtesy of SHS. I have only used GBPVR so far to view mpeg files generated by an avertV dvbt card and a dvico fusionHDTV card. Sometimes I get a blackscreen after pressing a button (from memory this has happened after confirming a resume, stopping a playing file and a couple of other times that i can't remember the preceding button press) on which it freezes. Sometimes it goes back to the file list and freezes. If I try restarting the MVP it goes direct to the filelist and remains frozen (rather than going to the frontpage). I have to go to the server PC, close the MVP server window and restart it. I can't pin down any particular thing that causes the problem but the response to button presses in general is quite slow (compared to the hauppauge software).

I just read the other thread about CPU usage and the symptoms sound kind of similar so i will check out CPU usage tonight.

I have an xcard in my lounge HTPC that runs with JovePlayer. There is a great feature in JP that would be great (if it is possible) on the MVP as well. You can key in a number with the number buttons, which appears on the overlay, and then pressing the FF/RW key makes it skip that number of minutes. This is very effective for skipping commercials, combined with a 10 second skip on the skip keys, and also a great way to navigate to a particular point in a file very quickly.

One last question, is there a way to get the file information onscreen with a key press that does not do anything else ie can I get the file info without pausing?

Since the scream resolution is 720X480, the picture on tv appears elongated i.e. cropped from top and bottom. Also, there is a black bar on the left side of screen. Any suggestions to fix this?

 problems with ffwd
Posted by: dottore - 2004-07-27, 08:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

hi there,

don't know, if it was mentioned before, but i noticed a strange behaviour: i paused live-tv for 15 minutes or so, then wanted to fast forward (i configured it to jump, not to fast forward). i did this a few times, then backwarded and gbpvr stopped. the picture freazed. i went back to the main menu, started live-tv again and saw the message "no capture device defined for this action" or something like this. and the harddisk was working all the time.

i have a hauppauge pvr 250 set to vmr9. when it helps, i can send you the logfiles. i can try to reproduce the error.

nothing bad, i just won't use ffwd too often :-)
