  Generic player support
Posted by: staalep - 2004-03-30, 04:29 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I wish for a configuration option to set an external player (e.g. WMP or Winamp) for playing audio files (and maybe video files). In this way GBPVR would work as a frontend, enabling playback of all media formats without integral support for the hundreds of formats out there.

  .15 Beta Problem
Posted by: bsball115 - 2004-03-30, 04:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

With the upgrade to .15, everything works perfectly including the fix for the hour behind problem in the guide. The only problem i'm having is during live tv, I cannot rewind. The pause function works, but once out of pause, I cannot ffwd through commercials... any suggestions??

  Daylight Savings
Posted by: colin - 2004-03-29, 04:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hey Sub,

just curious to know if you do anything in GB-PVR to deal with daylight savings? I would assume this is all handled by Windows and that essentially you do not care?

I noticed that this week GB-PVR seems to be recording an hour to soon, ie I went to record the simpsons last night at 8:00pm but GB-PVR kicked in at 7:00pm.

Daylight saving does not happen until this Sunday in the US but it would appear this is happening this week in the world of Microsoft windows. I'll mess with the machine tonight and see what happens,

Cheers,
Colin.

  European user with +0100 problem?
Posted by: sub - 2004-03-29, 06:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Whilst I'm looking at timezones, I thought I'd also try to work out what is going wrong with the European +0100 XMLTV timezones. My first thought is the names of the Time Zones I use from the registry might be localized, and not match the ones I'm looking for.

If you have this problem, can you look if you have these registry keys, and the highlighted location? See image below:

  Strange XMLTV problem
Posted by: gplasky - 2004-03-28, 05:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

For some reason today my guide listings are one hour early. A show for 1pm shows in the guide as starting at 12 noon. This just occurred today and was fine last night. I have 2 other programs that use this same xmltv data and the time in their guides are correct. Is your program compensating for Daylight Savings early? I've emptied and re-added the EPG and also redownloaded the xmltv data from the Internet again with no change. Any idea what the issue could be?

Couple of ideas from a PVR addict :)
Posted by: krutaw - 2004-03-27, 05:59 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (32)

Since there's coding sent (or even just the nearly black screen segue) between the video and the commercials, adding code to automatically detect and remove the commercials would put this project above the (excuse the pun) Commercial clients available.

It's obviously possible, since the MythTV client is able to automatically detect them, and would be a heck of a feather in the cap of GBPVR.

Also, adding some sort of client functionality to allow for multiple machines in the home to share the same data would rock.

  XMLTV - autoupdate ?
Posted by: chuckyt - 2004-03-26, 12:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi Sub,
Is there a way to automatically update the EPG data from a XMLTV source. I am manually updating it from the config app, but it would be better to have it automatically scheduled.
I presume there is a way.

  full screen display graphic glitch
Posted by: chuckyt - 2004-03-25, 01:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

build .14
when choosing full screen display on VGA, with taskbar set to autohide, a small section of the desktop is left at the top of the screen ( only about 50 mm at a screen resolution of 1024x768 )

doesn't affect performance at all, only graphic.
