Supporting other than MP3?
Posted by: staalep - 2004-02-25, 12:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Can anyone tell me if GB-PVR supports e.g. WMA? This would be nice, as all my music is encoded in WMA... [Image: smile.gif]

 Channel changing

Sub,

13 is looking great. I Remember a while back you were looking into ways of speeding up the channel changing. Have you had any luck on this yet?

 Teletext to xmltv
Posted by: MaBo - 2004-02-25, 09:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,
As I told a little while ago I've started programming a script to convert telektext program information into xmltv that can be imported by for instance gbpvr.

Well, version 0.8 is ready and can be downloaded here.

Please note that it is still _very_rough_ and that you _have_to_read_the_readme_file! Some editing is required as described in the readme file. Also vtplus properly setup and running is required. Please note the names of the stations!

Known issues:
-the titles may become very long in several cases. GBPVR cuts them.
-there is no batchfile to run the process fully automatically. Please experiment first whether everything runs fine.

Sub, a question: how save is it to have gbpvr running and then execute the command "gbpvr -OnlyUpdateEPG" from somewhere else to update the EPG?

Greetings and fun with this tooly,
MaBo

 Visible Channels in TV Guide
Posted by: Jake - 2004-02-25, 06:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Is there a way to change the size of the visible channels located in the skin.xml located in the TV Guide directory?

It will let me change the number of channels listed from 7 but I don’t see a place to change the size value. Thanks for any help on this.

Here is what I have right now:
<SpecialElements>
<SpecialElement id="Guide" loc="50,80" visibleChannels="7"/>
<SpecialElement id="TimePeriods" loc="50,48" />
<SpecialElement id="SelectedProgrammeTitle" loc="120,385" size="540,30"/>
<SpecialElement id="SelectedProgrammeDesc" loc="120,410" size="540,80"/>
<!-- popup -->
<SpecialElement id="ProgrammePopupButtons" loc="35,135"/>
<SpecialElement id="ProgrammePopupTitle" loc="170,140" size="440,20"/>
<SpecialElement id="ProgrammePopupDesc" loc="170,170" size="475,50"/>
</SpecialElements>

Hello,

I just installed GBPVR version 013 for the first time today. I get the following when starting the configuration utility:

 PC Client on a second PC
Posted by: Guest - 2004-02-24, 11:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Sub,
I've been so interested in testing the MVP client that I just realized that I haven't tried to run the PC client from a second PC. Is this supported? Do you have to do anything special to start it?

Thanks,
Bryan

 A couple of requests
Posted by: Dai - 2004-02-24, 06:23 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Sub

Firstly, thanks for providing such a great piece of software. I'm currently building a media PC, I found you site at the weekend, installed the software and it pretty much does everthing I wanted. The ability to use the TV out on the PVR 350 for the menus is particularly good.

So, a couple of small requests.

The font size (particularly in the TV guide) is difficult to read on the TV [as nobody else has mentioned this, I guess I must have bag eyes or a bad TV ! :) ]. Any chance of adding an option of a larger font size, maybe just a small/large in the configuration tool. I've tried playing around with the font smoothing settings in the display settings but they dont improve things much on the TV.

I read with interest, a post on the board (I can't find it again though) where somebody was saying that they used a 3 tier directory structrue for their media files, top level was artist, 2nd level was album and botom level was tracks and they would like to see a list view for the artists, an Icon view for the albums and then a list view for the tracks. This is exactly the scheme I use. I thought that a solution to this might be to get the software to remember the view you last used for each folder, any chance of this?

I believe that there is volume control on the playback of MP3s but is there a volume control on the live TV or video playback? The keys on the remote for the volume are the same as the left/right navigation and they skip through the icons rather than change volume. Am I missing something? also, it would be good to have an animated volume bar on the OSD (like on many TVs) when changing volume so you get some feedback that it is working.

Cheers

 Enabling "Edit" buttons
Posted by: kiskadee - 2004-02-24, 02:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Enabling / disabling of the profile "Edit" buttons does not work properly. Sometimes I switch to "Custom" (in the Standard profile) and the buttons stays disabled. Playing around with the comboboxes sometimes the Edit botton stays active for a pre-configured profile... Version is 0.13

 MVP Video size
Posted by: teris - 2004-02-24, 11:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

I've found a problem with the Media MVP and a new entrie for your long long ToDo-List:-) :

When I play an MPEG, the video-size is to wide. At the right at the left side are ca. 20 Pixel not visible.

I've tested some things:

1. Start Windows, run MediaMVP-Server
- SIZE OK

2. Stop MVP-Server, Start GBPVR-Server
- SIZE is to wide

3. Stop GBPVR-Server, Start MVP-Server
- SIZE is to wide

It seems, when I start the GBPVR-Server, the MVP-Firmware don't work correctly.
To fix the problem, I have to start the MVP-Server from hauppauge and reset the MVP by disconnecting the power cable.

I hope, you can find the problem and fix it.

Bye,

Sebastian

 Configuration Screen Size
Posted by: benneg - 2004-02-24, 08:18 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Sub,
Is it possible to make the configuration screen either scalable or put scroll bars onto it so I can use it on my TV. I have increased my windows default screen size which means that at my current settings I cannot see all of the buttons required to setup this application without changing screen sizes back and forward.

Cheers from a fellow Kiwi.
