  IPTV not recording correctly
Posted by: Jbender - 2018-11-23, 02:31 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I am a new user but also a computer programmer so very tech savvy. I have imported a m3u url and epg into a IPTV device. I can see the guide by groups and everything looks fine until I try to record a series.

The pending recordings lists the shows to be recorded with the correct start and stop times but when they actually record they are only recording the first few minutes at which time the get moved to recorded. They play fine but only those few minutes. I have the pre and post times set to 1 and 2 minutes respectively.

They machine is not sleeping or shutting down during recording.

I want to cut the cord but unless I can get series to record my other half will never agree to it Sad

  Pluto.TV ?
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2018-11-22, 11:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (37)

I just came across Pluto.tv, which from all I've read appears to be a free (legal) IPTV offering. It has a built-in EPG and some relatively good content. Is there any way to integrate their channels into NPVR so that we could record shows being streamed by Pluto?

Problems App on Andriod When Trying to Watch Recorded
Posted by: pezram - 2018-11-22, 01:55 PM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (4)

I can find the server and the recorded shows show in the recording section but when I try to watch a recording just gets stuck transcoding or sometimes says buffering and sticks at 75-100%. I can watch the recordings no problem on my PC where the recordings were done. Any help would be appreciated.

  Remote control?
Posted by: Hibby540 - 2018-11-22, 03:30 AM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (1)

Android app remote control? Will this application double as a remote control? I like the picture quality of nextpvr. I used kodi before and they have a remote control application.

Entered my playlist URL into Channel List URL but it errors out! What Next?
Posted by: sgbrittain - 2018-11-21, 08:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I use Vader Streams. Their M3U playlist URL looks like this - http://vaders.tv/vget?username=YOURUSERN...URPASSWORD

When I enter that into the NextPVR Channel List URL field I get an error screen and am stymied.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue?

Can not find TV Listings skin.xml file
Posted by: Rich A - 2018-11-21, 05:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Been using the TV Listing plug in for a couple years. Everything has been great and it's working wonderfully.

Recently I upgraded my viewing device to a much larger screen and decided to change the on-screen number of rows in the channel listing.

However, I can no longer find the "TV Listings skin.xml" file anywhere on my computer. The Plug in is listed and activated in the NPVR plug in settings areas, but NOT listed in the plugin folder. I did a search of the entire system and there is NO *.skin.xml file anywhere on the system. It's like the TV Listings plug was never installed and yet it's working perfectly.

I downloaded and un-zipped the original TV Listing plug in and found this file "TV Listings.xml" which contained <NamedValue name="ListingsRows" value="8"/>. But on my computer, that TV Listings folder and any of it's contents do not exist anywhere??

I have an extensive number of custom settings in my TV Listings using groups, and genre and other TV listing settings and was thinking of just re-moving the plugin and re-installing it, but don't want to loose all my settings. And of course I can't back them up because the files don't exist.

Of course ALL of the aforementioned parent folders etc. were checked for "hidden" attributes. I should point out that this HTPC is run 24/7 and never shut down for these prior two years other than to do routine maintenance and updates . This HTPC sole purpose is to run NextPVR. It's a pretty much closed system.

The last bit of maintenance done was several days ago when I upgraded NextPVR to the most recent build (4.2.3 (181112). There were no issues and everything is still working normally.

I'm puzzled about this.

  Recommended Buffer drive size?
Posted by: bighick - 2018-11-21, 02:31 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Hello! On my system i have 10 tuners. At times I may use all of them at once which puts a pretty large I/O onto my old spinning disk and NPVR crashes sometimes (I will get logs next time!). My question is how large should my buffer disk be? At times I wont change channels for 5 or 6 hours. Channels are a mix of MPEG and H264, 720p and 1080i. On hand I have a 120gb ssd or could do like 32gb of ram disk.

  multiple recording paths
Posted by: Brucek2839 - 2018-11-21, 03:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Just wondering if there is a way to specify multiple paths for recording live programming? Say the first recording go to one drive and the second current recording to to another drive and etc, etc?

  Commercial grade codec
Posted by: dcol - 2018-11-20, 11:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Are there any commercial grade or lossless codecs available for the NPVR video decoder? What are the absolute best ones out there? Willing to pay for a good one.
The LAV decoder is not giving me the results I want and the MS DVD one doesn't work.

Using H.264 and eventually H.265

Thanks

Analog FM Radio not working AVerMedia H826
Posted by: pdc - 2018-11-20, 08:33 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hi all,

I have read the FAQ and installed the Hauppauge SoftPVR components from WinTV7. Note that this is on AVerMedia hardware, not Hauppauge, hopefully that is okay? I used the directions at Utility.HauppaugeSoftPVR.

My Analog capture source (AverMedia H826 Hybrid TV Video Capture) shows up in Devices, and I have used "Add FM" to add an FM station in Device Setup.

Digital TV works as expected (no Analog TV in this area) but when I select the FM station in Live TV, no sound plays. I notice the NRecord process starts using 14% CPU (100% of one thread) and the UI also becomes very sluggish, taking a second or two to respond to a right-click.

I am new to NextPVR so don't assume I know what I am doing Smile (though I do have a technical background).

I have the latest version of NextPVR (4.2.3) and just re-installed LAVFilters-0.73.1-Installer. I am using LAV for all the Video and Audio decoders (EVR/default for Renderers).

Logs are attached. FilterCheck.log is included in the zip.

Thanks for any suggestions!
Paul
