NextPVR won't accept password for lineups
Posted by: LFRYARTGUY - 2018-11-16, 11:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I have Schedules Direct and had recently changed my password there. I updated to the new NEXTPVR and now it will not save any new password I put into the channels lineup.

  PayPal Donation Problems
Posted by: AvsFire - 2018-11-16, 11:11 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

I'm having difficulties donating via PayPal - both one time and monthly subscription options fail after checkout with a merchant error. Screen shots are below.

Anyone else having this problem? I've tried several times through different web browsers. I'm using the "Outside New Zealand" options as I'm in the US. As far as I can tell, everything with my PP account seems in order. As another test, I just purchased something else via PayPal without issue.

I'd love to help support NextPVR and the team, but having a hard time doing so.
Could there be a problem with merchant receiving options? Not sure if it's a PP problem either.... anyone have any ideas?

  Padding Issue
Posted by: jcole998 - 2018-11-16, 02:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I'm having an issue in which NextPVR is not recording some of the 1 minute pre-/post-padding intervals.

Here is the lineup(with tuner that was used), all on the same day(15-Nov), as shown in Pending Recordings sorted by priority. All recordings should be 01:02:00(within a few seconds) in duration except The Real and The View, both 00:47:00

11:15am. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12pm. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .1:00pm
WNYW - The Real(T1)
WABC - The View (T2). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Eyewitness News(T3)
WWOR - . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Chicago PD(T2)
WPIX - . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .True Crimes(T1)
USA . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . NCIS(T2)

By observing device use, the following occurred:
T1(Tuner 1) was dropped after The Real recording.
T2 was not selected for Eyewitness News on the same channel and I believe it should have been which would have allowed Chicago PD to start early and not have to wait for The View to complete.

Using NextPVR playback, recordings Chicago PD and NCIS lost the one minute pre-padding. I looked in the log and saw that when "Eyewitness News" was to begin recording, the log shows

2018-11-15 11:59:00.324 [DEBUG][9] Recording due to start pre-padding, but tuner not available
2018-11-15 11:59:00.324 [DEBUG][9] Scheduled Recording about to start maybe a candidate for moving to another tuner (different locator than another recording on same device)

I use as Hauppauge DCR-3250 3-tuner device. Only two were in use at the time. Additionally, why didn't Chicago PD just "share" T2 which would have allowed Eyewitness News pre-padding? I've seen that happen countless times.

This is a repeatable error(?) which I can duplicate at will. Maybe you can in your test setup.

Am I missing something that would allow me to better control tuner allocation?

I hope someone can help me understand what happened.

This is the schedule.

403 connection Error with vader streams
Posted by: jetfixr - 2018-11-16, 04:55 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

When I try to download playlists and guide info, I am constantly getting a 403 error. I can play streams on my computer using VLC and vaders web player, so I know the login info is solid, and my iptv account works.

  Cannot stop service
Posted by: chezmorris - 2018-11-15, 11:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hello (again...)

I am trying to apply a patch to NPVR to resolve my other issue regarding loading Vader IPTV. In order to apply the patch I need to stop the NPVR service which my machine is now refusing to do.

The words "sorry David, I can't allow that" spring to mind.

I attach the error message and my logs, not that there should be too much on them as I am doing this on a completely new NPVR build.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

David

  Set Up using Vader IPTV
Posted by: chezmorris - 2018-11-15, 06:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (82)

Hello

Has anyone here successfully set up Vader IPTV on NextPVR? I know it can be done but apparently it might need some form of "tweak".

Unfortunately their standard URL link does not end in .m3u and so NPVR rejects the link (see attached error message).

Thanks a lot.

David

  Forget series from "Ready Recordings"
Posted by: p37307 - 2018-11-15, 04:36 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I am familiar with using "Forget" on individual shows I've recorded, in case of error, or some other reason and I want to rerecord it. However, I notice under "Ready Recordings" there is also a "Forget option there. For example, I have a recorded series, it shows 130 recordings. I recorded on a channel that is not the most reliable signal wise and now another channel with near perfect signal are airing the series.

If I click "Forget" I assume NPVR will do the same to all 130 recordings at once click instead of having to click forget for each of the 130 recordings? Is that true?

New NextPVR Setup (new user) with Ceton tuners
Posted by: Bradachin - 2018-11-13, 02:53 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have NextPVR working through a browser, but when I try to view LiveTV with NEXTPVR I get nothing and the program crashes out.

My assumption is a decoder setup is not correct, but how to determine why it works to play LiveTV through the browser but not through the software?

That is where I need it to function so I can record programs.

Any help I can receive will be fully appreciated.

Thanks.

Looking for ideas to investigate random, infrequent pixelation during recording
Posted by: ukmark62 - 2018-11-12, 08:44 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (26)

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of NPVR (4.2.2) - I have also tried some older versions also with same results. This has been occurring ever since I started with NPVR about a year ago, and has also happened with other recording software such as media center, sichbopvr etc. I stick with NPVR because I like it the most.

The issue I'm trying to track down is an infrequent, random pixelation during recording. It might be that I get several perfect recordings, but then occasionally, I'll get maybe 1 or 2 glitches (each lasting less than 1 second) during a recording. These are all Freeview HD recordings and can happen on any channel at any time. For example, I recorded one programme yesterday and there were 2 glitches - yet today I recorded 6 concurrent programmes from the same mux with no issues at all.

I emphasize that these occur infrequently and as such makes it difficult for me to track down the cause and if anything can be done about it. I have checked through all the logs from NPVR and see nothing logged at the time the glitches occur. I only see start and end times logged.

PC is Windows 10 with 16GB RAM, 256GB internal SSD (this is where Windows and all programs are installed), a 2TB internal HDD (this is where the recordings are stored). PC is HP Intel Core i5-7200u with Intel HD 620 graphics card. All drivers are up to date. Windows version is 1803. If I use 'Ctrl + I' when viewing live TV the signal quality is always 85 to 90 range and signal strength is always 50 to 55 range - this is using Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD tuner - model # 01590. (I have 3 different tuners and each tuner exhibits this random recording problem. The other tuners are single tuner MyGica T230C and a generic Ebay single tuner that uses Astrometa drivers and these both appear to have 'hard coded' signal strength and quality readings).

The aerial coax cable comes directly from the roof aerial into the USB tuner and then into the USB port on the PC - this is in the upstairs bedroom. TV reception downstairs from the same aerial (different coax cable) has always been 100% reliable. I have no splitters etc.

The reason I'm posting is that I'm looking for any suggestions to identify and if possible fix the problem.

We have always had a good signal where we live and as I said, TV reception is always perfect (unless we have some very extreme weather). I'm going to give an aerial variable db booster a go (for the PC USB tuner only) and try increasing the db to see if this helps. Are there any other suggestions?

Thanks for reading!
