Right now, I have a 30mbps internet speed. Could it be possible for me to record two live streams at the same time, while also at the same time, watch one of those live streams or another one? How much bandwidth does NextPVR take in each recording?
Also, if I have an IPTV service that only allows one device at a time. Does recording different live streams at the same time, not be possible because of that? Like, does each NextPVR recording act as one device?
Why are my scheduled recordings either not happening at all or only partially recording on NextPVR in Windows? Any ideas on what could be causing this? level devil
I have a strange issue that JUST started occurring this morning and I just wanted someone to check and see if anyone could look into the logs to see how or why it's happening?
Using outside 3rd party Apps (i.e. TiviMate, etc.) this doesn't happen, only in Kodi
So I start my live channel, i plays for about 5-10 seconds, then repeats itself from where i started watching .....
This is happening on every single channel (Just started today as far as I can tell) ----- I did recently have my PW changed for my provider and didn't understand how to update that on the Web App for NextPVR so what I did was just delete my playlist entirely and create and import a new one using my new PWand that all seems ok now, but since I logged back into Kodi, it's repeating the live tv video
I have tried changing Live TV Buffering size from 1-6 with no luck on the repeating issue?
Attached is screenshots from my settings on the add-on in Kodi as well as a Kodi Log and NextPVR Log
Now that my previous post regarding freezes has been resolved, I have a new slight problem.
At my previous address, I had my PC running NextPVR in same room as my homelab, so could have a dedicated monitor connected.
At my new abode, I have had to setup my NextPVR PC next to my television.
When I first started recording to my NAS, I could not view free space etc on the NextPVR web interface,
Martin instructed me how to change the NextPVR service to run with account credentials (or whatever it is called)
After that, I was able to see free space available on the NAS recording folder.
The PC auto boots into my local account, and that was great when the machine was connected to a dedicated monitor.
However, I would like to know how I can run the PC 'headless', and use Remote Desktop from my office to access the NextPVR PC, and still be able to see free space data of my NAS share.
What happens, is that with the user logged out of the PC, I can RDP into the PC, but the NextPVR service is not running.
Then if I login into the NextPVR PC again, the service works as normal, but then I can not RDP into the PC, due to no native support for concurrent RDP connections.
I know it is possible to patch the system to allow concurrent connections, but don't really want to do that, so just asking if there is a more obvious way to do it, that is escaping me at the moment.
Hello, I recently moved, so did not get my gear set back up for a number of weeks.
After setting stuff back up, I noticed a few things, such as Kodi had updated, and my NAS software had updated.
Whilst watching Live TV from either DVB-T or from my STB, after 20 or so minutes (it varies) the live tv picture freezes for about 20 seconds, and then am back in main Kodi interface.
I first thought it was the Fire TV device I use, which is the Fire TV Cube 3rd gen.
However, it also does this behavior on the NVidia Shield as well.
At first, I thought it was a DVB-T reception issue, but now think otherwise, seeing that it occurs on live tv from my STB too, which is Satellite. (My Sky HDi)
Also, when the freeze occurs, and I am recording the show at the time, I can go back on the recording, and it is seemingly fine, and will play back past where the freeze occurs, so the issue does not seem to be the recording.
From searching the Kodi forums, I found others with similar issues of freezing while watching Live TV with Kodi Omega.
The Ops there suggesting a variety of possible issues form faulty networking switches, thru to helper addons in certain skins, to PVR addons.
I don't recall this behavior occurring before I moved, but at new location I have a different aerial for DVB-T, and a different satellite dish running into the rig.
Things I have tried:
I experimented with the NextPVR addon settings in kodi. I use time shifting, so tried altering the buffer settings from 0 thru to 3.
(this made no difference to the freeze issue)
I tried altering the Live TV chunk size in the addon's settings, both increasing and decreasing the value.
(this made no difference to the freeze issue)
I tried changing Kodi's SMB chunk size setting from it's default of 128.
(this made no difference to the freeze issue)
I tried changing Kodi's cache settings, and increasing the values)
(this made no difference to the freeze issues)
I tried changing the network switch my PC attaches to, along with the network patch leads.
(this made no difference to the freeze issue)
I tried changing the HDMI cable between my AV receivers output to my TV, and from my PC to the AV Receiver.
(this made no difference to the freeze issue)
I have not changed anything on my PC running NextPVR. (primarily as it was packed up for some weeks)
So, I am kinda stumped, and am hoping the logs might point towards where the issue might be.
I just had the freeze occur while typing this posting, and it happened while watching a show called 'CRC Motorsport' on channel 'Three'.
I have been trying to import some new recordings & for some reason I can't see it refuses to import E07 & E08 after it imported E01-E06 fine... normally this is a path error on my part but this time I just can't see what I have done wrong? Any ideas where I go from here?
When changing channels (zapping) the picture will freeze until the next channel clears. Is it possible to display a blank/black screen from the moment you press the button to change channel, until the next channel opens?
So, exactly the same behaviour like regular TV sets.
Hi, where do I have to put my own generated epg.xml file under LibreElec? Maybe [file://storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.nextpvr/config/scripts/epg.xml]?
And does NextPVR also support .xz compressed XMLTV EPG files or only uncompressed files?
My main menu shows Recordings, Scheduler and What's New as far as recordings go. I don't see a way to do this in any of those. When I try to update a recording in TV Guide, and this happened with v4 too, it doesn't let me change Recording Type from Record Once to anything else, and canceling the recordings isn't an option. So - how DO I cancel future recordings of a show?
I'm currently using SageTV to manage my TV addiction. Due to some recent cablebox issues, I may need to find ways to either tune the RF boxes that would likely replace my current IR-controlled boxes, or acquire shows on my non-OTA channels via IPTV. I'm not sure that's even possible, though, hence my completely uninformed questions. I have looked at the Wiki, and did not find the info I'm looking for. Clearly, I'm lacking some pre-requisite knowledge.
I installed NextPVR on a spare PC (on Windows 10 Provessional) for testing. I was able to scan my ancient HDHomeruns just to play with the system, but really want to see if I can somehow integrate web-based access to my provider. I use Xfinity, and can access its Xfinity stream site through my browser. But it's not at all clear how (or if) to use that as a NextPVR's IPTV device. The IPTV setup asks for a URL of a M3U file. How do I generate such a file, both in general, and (if it's possible) for Xfinity stream?
