  database nulls
Posted by: pBS - 2018-07-28, 07:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

how can fix the entries that erroneously require 'not null' when most of the entries contain nulls?
or really, how do i remove that 'not null' requirement of those fields as they obviously aren't being honored?
'scheduled_recording.event_details may not be null" when all manual recordings have no event details?!
this is illogical....lol
[and mainly, prevents 'strict' db editors from editing any entries]

  Delay before playback
Posted by: griffy - 2018-07-28, 05:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi Sub

A couple of requests, hopefully really simple.

I use AutoRefresh plugin and whenever say a music video that is 24 fps is selected it starts playing in the background while AutoRefresh is changing the refresh rate and I miss the first 3-4 seconds. I tried increasing some delays in the config file but no luck. Is there a setting I can change?

Also when I start an encrypted channel if the key hasn't been sent the screen stays black, I have to wait 20-30 seconds and skip back and forth to get the picture started. Can happen when recorded but I usually skip 2mins forward on recording so not a problem. Just with Live TV. Sometimes happens on DVB-T but this is rare. If I stop the channel and start again the video is instant.

I was using PowerDVD H.264 decoder but these can block on a glitch (DVB-T recording) and don't recover even after many seconds. Microsoft decoder handles them very well and recovers almost instantly.

Thanks
Griffy

  Android Client Issues/Suggestions
Posted by: Maverick - 2018-07-26, 08:00 PM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (6)

First I have to say THANK YOU for the whole NPVR solution I am so grateful for your efforts. I also know the Android app is fairly new and hasn't reached maturity yet, but I thought I would take a minute and provide some issues and feedback to help make it better as it matures.

If you use the app then come back the next day (having left the app open) on an Android TV type box, the App will usually have disconnected from the NPVR backend server and you have to go back to the Server Select page and manually reconnect. This manual reconnect process usually allows it to reconnect and play but doesn't always download updated EPG data. Sometimes, the only way to get it to reconnect and download the updated EPG data is to force close the app and reopen it. It would be nice if anytime you changed tabs (between Channels, Guide, Recordings, etc.) if the app would check the connection and auto-reconnect and update data if needed (like if it has been more than X hours since it updated).

If you manually reconnect as mentioned above and then go to the Guide page, it remembers it does not move to the current day/time. It will either show the last time you looked at (which could be yesterday) OR sometimes will will update to midnight of the current day. When moving to the Guide page it should always check the current time and center on that.

When switching to the Channels tab it should update whats on to the current day/time. Right now this page only seems to update when I disconnect and reconnect to the back end. Today I restarted the app at 1:15PM and it properly listed the shows that were on at that time. Now it is 2:55pm and that page is still listing shows that ENDED at 2:00pm instead of what is on now.

There may be more later, but this would be a good start.

  NextPVR IPTV Windows client question
Posted by: foltz61 - 2018-07-26, 04:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

When using a a Windows IPTV client does the NextPVR server just serve the url for the client to then play on it's own or does it actually serve the stream? If possible, and it's not already the case, I think it would be a good idea to let the client handle the stream on its own to take some stress off of the server and also to take some stress off of the network.

Thanks

  Timeshift buffer size/rotation configuration
Posted by: aderlopas - 2018-07-26, 04:41 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (15)

Hello,

Since now timeshift is working with my Kodi Nextpvr addon, would there be any chance of instead of having the standard <xxx> minutes buffer to be able to expose how much buffer in either terms of minutes or at least at disk size timeshift buffer would be?

I remember sub described that there are three files rotating, can we be able to adjust the rotation period or those three files maximum size from anywhere in the configuration?

Yesterday for example I paused live TV for more than 1 hour and once I got back to watch it, it froze at some point in time, which I guess was because the buffer was overwritten at some point...

Thanks and regards

Unable to watch Live TV or record shows
Posted by: ajrietveld - 2018-07-25, 07:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

When I try to watch Live TV the screen just goes black until I exit or right click to stop. I'm able to schedule a recording, however when I go to play back the recording I get an error about there not being data in the file and it mentions that a common problem is a lack of signal from the tuner. This prompted me to double check and I can in fact obtain a signal and watch Live TV using the HDHomeRun software. I have tried switching decorders and it doesn't seem to make a difference; I have reproduced the problem using ffd, Lav, as well as Microsoft's DTV-DVD decoder. I have attached the most recent logs of an attempt to watch Live TV at approximately 14:15.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  Client Scheduling Failure
Posted by: jcole998 - 2018-07-25, 01:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

It seems that when I try to schedule a recurring program from a client, the operation never ends and I end up using the Task Manager to end the task. Or maybe I'm just being impatient. The server is a wired desktop and the client is a WiFi laptop.

On which machine do I examine logs to try and figure out what's happening? The server or the client? And which log file?

Thanks.

no EPG from some DVB-T2 mux
Posted by: arimak - 2018-07-24, 11:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I cant get correct EPG from one DVB-T2 mux, all other terrestrial muxes DVB-T2, and DVB-T are ok.
Bad is, that other DVB-T2 set top boxes, and other sw with my hw get the EPG correctly, so Im sure, the EPG info is in the mux.
I'm interested only in EPG source DVB/ATSC.

My HW is Astrometa DVB-T2:
https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Astrometa_DVB-T2
My usb tuner is "2018 revision" in the table at the bottom. (RTL2832P, Sony CXD2837ER, AT628).
Windows 10 Pro (insider preview 17692)

Other details (for ppl around Czech rep.):
The mux is received in Czech Republic, it is mux11 (czech state TV and radio channels) with channels names like: "CT1 HD T2", "CT2 HD T2", "CT24 HD T2",...

Kodi 18 Nightlies and Channel Icon Order
Posted by: deadlast - 2018-07-23, 11:28 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (3)

Hi Guys,

I'm seeing an issue where I have populated the Channel Icons in the C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Media\Channels folder and restarted the Recording Service.

After this, viewing the TV Guide in NextPVR is working correctly, however, viewing the Channels in Kodi, most of the Channels have the wrong Icon assigned.

Cheers!
