  Not recording show correctly
Posted by: rocksolidsr - 2018-03-14, 05:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I've been using NextPVR for quite some time and it has been great! I really appreciate all the hard work put into this application.

The last couple of weeks The Flash has not been recording, its only this recording, it starts the recording but the file size is only like 200MB when usually they are like 3.4GB. I completely uninstalled NextPVR and reinstalled and thought that might work but it did not.

Attached are my logs, if you have any insight as to why this might be happening that would be great!

One thing that was weird in the logs is I noticed it said something about A.P. Bio on 3/13 but that program isn't on until 3/15?

Thanks

NextPVR does not utilize all 4 tuners
Posted by: jmooremcc - 2018-03-14, 01:44 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

I have the quad tuner card by Hauppauge.
The other night I was recording 3 programs that used 3 of the 4 tuners.
Knowing that a 4th tuner was available, I wanted to watch live TV using Kodi.
When I clicked on the channel, a Kodi error message appeared that stated a tuner was not available.
I checked my NextPVR computer and the status showed only 3 tuners being utilized.

I've also had the problem of watching live TV using Kodi and losing the tuner when 2 previously scheduled recordings began.

I've included the pertinent logs for your inspection.
My OS is Windows 10
My NextPVR version is 4.0.5 (171208)

In the for what it's worth department, I recently performed a reinstall of Windows 10 and reloaded all drivers for the quad tuner card as a fresh install. I also did a fresh install of NextPVR.

Any ideas why NextPVR doesn't think the 4th tuner is not available.

Index was outside the bounds when editing manual recordings
Posted by: p37307 - 2018-03-13, 10:12 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Went to edit a manual event and got an unhandled exception, Index was outside the bounds of the array.
Clicked Continued and NPVR froze. Ongoing recording was unaffected. Had to X out and crash NPVR to close it.

I tried several other manual events and it occurred. This happens to all my manual events with advanced custom rules since the upgrade to NPVR version 4.1.0 (180302) that I imported via an XML file with advanced rules AND a <RecordingDirectoryID>.

The relevant section in NPVR.log is

FROM NPVR.Log

Code:
2018-03-13 05:23:55.455 [ERROR][1] Unexpected error: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at NextPVR.TV.ManualRecordingPopup.GetRenderList() at NextPVR.ControllerForm.Render(Boolean forceRender) at NextPVR.Program.Main(String[] args)

The rule I was changing, as it currently is in the recurring backup xml file is:

Code:
<recurring> <oid>428</oid> <name>Roseanne</name> <matchrules> <Rules><ChannelOID>7225</ChannelOID> <ChannelName>ABC</ChannelName> <StartTime>2018-02-17T03:20:00.0000000Z</StartTime> <EndTime>2018-02-8T03:10:00.0000000Z</EndTime><PrePadding>1</PrePadding> <PostPadding>2</PostPadding> <Quality>0</Quality> <Keep>0</Keep> <RecordingDirectoryID>[Classic Sitcoms]</RecordingDirectoryID> <AdvancedRules>title like 'Roseanne' AND first_run=="Y"</AdvancedRules></Rules> </matchrules> </recurring>

I am wondering if it has something to do with <RecordingDirectoryID>[Classic Sitcoms]</RecordingDirectoryID> being defined?

I had no problem with previous versions.

My WER folder files and the AppHang_NextPVR.exe_ folder is included in my zip logs.

I've also included a READ ME file with window event logs

  Audio Issue
Posted by: Jam - 2018-03-13, 06:57 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I copied a recorded file onto a USB drive for playing it on a Samsung TV in my brother's house.

it was playing OK until 5 minutes into the playback where a window popped up on the TV screen with the message "Audio format is not supported".

After that, I could only see the video with No sound.

Appreciate if you could provide a solution.

Thanks for your hard work.

  kodi radio
Posted by: gromgsxr - 2018-03-12, 10:55 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (3)

i have recently using the radio section in kodi to listen to radio that i get through a dvb-s card on my npvr computer, and whats rather annoying is every so often the sound will just drop out for a second or two then come back and work for maybe 10 min and it will happen again. its not just a specific station either. It is quite predictable for it to happen within the first minute of starting to listen to radio. as a test i listened to 10min through npvr on the computer with the tuner and it did not happen once so i think its a kodi thing. i included a log if someone could take a peek.

  Can't get live TV
Posted by: Stanno - 2018-03-12, 07:29 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi,
I'm on 4.1 and cannot get live TV. When I try either the Live TV option on the menu or select a program in the guide and choose "watch" I get a ...please wait... dialog then the screen goes black and nothing. Pressing the back button takes me back to the guide or the menu. Logs attached.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Stanno

Disable Time Shift Option - Please!
Posted by: m1zar00 - 2018-03-12, 06:06 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (14)

There are many reasons to have the option to disable Time Shift.

1. Not everyone uses it, so it's pointless for some people. (e.g. I've never used it...)
2. SSD HDD Wear, which somone else raised, but is probably minor, due to wear control.
3. USB Key / SD Card Wear, which is very real, as they do not manage wear at all, so will / do quickly fail being used for Time Shifting.
4. USB interface bandwidth, I know that Time Shifting is affecting other recordings to my USB HDD, by doubling the traffic to the drive when recording one channel whilst watching another.
5. Network bandwidth, Next PVR works fine to my NAS, but it's always spun up and consuming network bandwidth the entire time I'm watching, so I don't use my NAS anymore for NextPVR which is silly. Bearing in mind my Tuner (HD Homerun) is also using the network it all adds up to lots of traffic, much of it the same... again can cause laggs and delays on both the nas drive and the network.
6. Extra processing CPU overheads, caching to a drive generates additional processing and management overhead for the CPU, depending on the platform that could make the difference between 'great' and 'crap.
7. It would be useful for diagnosis, i.e. To be able to tell if it helps with any of the above, or any other problems related to network/CPU/disk issues.

As you should be able to see, there's quite a few reasonable reasons to be able to disable the Time Shift function, if it's in the core of NextPVR, then perhaps it's time to review how that is done, to allow for Cache less viewing. If you MUST have a cache why not allow the use of a small (<5min) cache to RAM. So you don't have to re-write too much and we are all happy! :o)

Thank You.
James

VLC Media Player doesn't play 4.1.0
Posted by: BrianGGG - 2018-03-12, 05:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

A possibly strange situation. Since I upgraded to 4.1.0, I can't get the VLC Media Player to play my TS files created from NPVR.
I can, however, play them in VLC Media Player Classic.

I'm starting to wonder if there is a problem here, either for just me or with 4.1.0. A few of my files have error-ed out in MCEBuddy processing, and I haven't been able to figure out the issues with the source files yet.

Am I the only one experiencing this issue?

And, one more side-question: If I did figure out htat 4.1.0 was the problem is there any issue with downgrading back to 4.0.5?

thanks

Lost Channel Logos on Upgrade to 4.1.0 (180302)
Posted by: FrogFan - 2018-03-12, 02:57 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hello,

This is my first post, but I've been using NextPVR for several years with Kodi. I've also spent a bit of time here. Thanks to all here for the great product and support.

Today, I updated to version 4.1.0 and my channel logos no longer appear in Kodi. When I open NextPVR and select TV Guide, the logos are there, which tells me NextPVR is picking them up. I'm running NextPVR on a Windows 10 computer and my channel logos are stored in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Media\Channels. Before I upgraded today, I could see all my channel logos in Kodi.

I'm not sure if this is a Kodi problem or a NextPVR problem, but since it started on my upgrade of NextPVR, I thought I'd start here.

I've attached a full set of logs.
