Server Database Not Found Error
Posted by: Abbaskip - 2018-03-18, 11:02 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I previously had NextPVR Installed and uninstalled it.

I have just reinstalled it, and halfway through installation I get error:
Server database not found at: \\192.168.1.2\npvr\npvr.db3

I hit ok, and the install continues, but then if I try to launch NextPVR I get the same error.

The local IP Address of the computer I'm installing it on is 192.168.1.2 - and this is the server address I had setup in NextPVR last time, so I'm wondering if this is a hang up from my prior install?

In any case, there seems to be no way to open/use Next PVR. Any ideas?

EDIT: The issue has been fixed by Sharing the NPVR directory in Windows Sharing. The Directory is in C:\Users\Public

Fine tune Comskip for dual episode screen endings
Posted by: p37307 - 2018-03-18, 10:45 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I’ve noticed the dual episode screen endings on some stations are being marked as commercials.

Can anyone help me prevent this or give me suggestions on how to tune Comskip to avoid it?

I put it in General Discussion since this really isn't a NPVR issue.

I have a small sample video (around 3MB) if anyone needs it at https://chambers.pw/test-video/test.ts
I can provide a longer test video.

  Reduced Channel
Posted by: er824 - 2018-03-18, 07:28 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hi,

I have version 4.1.0 of Next PVR installed on a relatively fresh install of Windows 10 Pro Version 1703. Tuner card is a HVR-2250 connected to an Antenna. Channels were loaded by running a channel scan on 1 of the ATSC tuners, then exporting and importing to the other. EPG is using Schedules Direct.

I'm getting a 'Reduced Channel' message when changing channels or using the 'Now Playing' list when both of the 2250's ATSC tuners are in use. The 'Now Playing' list only shows 14 of my 69 channels. It looks like it is showing 1 sub channel from each (or most) of the channels that I receive. I understand from other posts this is because those are the channels that it thinks it can tune too based on the state of the tuner. Why does it think I can tune to those 14 channels and not the other 54 when both tuners show as busy in the Status?

When I hit 'F1' to go to the guide with Live TV playing it shows me the full list of channels and lets me tune to any of them. There are posts about this going back at least 2 years so presumably it is intended behavior but to a newbie it sure seems like a bug. Is there a way for me to get the channel +/- and 'Now Playing' lists to show the full list instead of reduced set of channels? Whatever logic is populating that list doesn't seem to take into account that when you change the channel you are going to 'free' up the current live tv tuner.

Thanks

Another recording service not running query
Posted by: OwenBerg - 2018-03-17, 11:19 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

On Saturday evenings, we regularly have the scenario where we have back-to-back recordings on one channel (BBC4 HD in this case) and a single recording on another channel at the same time (ITV HD at the moment), overlapping both recordings.

The second of the back-to-back recordings always fails with the error "Recording service not running at recording time".

This used to work (can't remember the date or NPVR version, but it was when BBC4 were showing Black Lake!) but I think I started to see this error toward the end of that series in the same scenario. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now it's clearly a pattern.

I have a dual DVB-T2 tuner and my system can comfortably handle the concurrent recordings and playback. My default settings have a 5 minute pre and post roll on recordings.

The system is definitely awake when this happens - sleep settings are turned off and, normally, we will tend to be in and watching something else on the same computer when this occurs, The concurrent ITV HD recording is never truncated.
Although I've seen failed recordings because device failed to start etc, those have all tended to be sporadic. The pattern here leads me to believe there is something fixable.

Logs are attached. the most redent failed recording was at 21:45 17/03/2018 on BBC4 HD.

I've looked for similar issues, on here, but most seem to suggest a problem with the system sleeping, which I've already ruled out.
I didn't have a c:/temp folder until ust now, so I can't provide a dump yet.

Any assistance gratefully received!

  mp4 videos not playing
Posted by: roy - 2018-03-17, 08:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have a new problem that mp4 video files will no longer play. Npvr freezes when I play a file and I must kill the npvr process. I have tried all of the decoders. What am I missing? Did a windows update break something?

All content missing on external network
Posted by: lazereagle - 2018-03-17, 06:37 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (3)

Hi y'all -

I'm new to NEWA and having a hard time setting it up. It all seems to be working on my internal network. When I connect to 192.168... all the content works as it should. But when I'm on another network and connect to my external IP, all my content is missing. I can login just fine, but the pages show nothing where I should see all my stuff. I've attached an example:

When I use the "classic" guide (.../guide2.aspx) I can see the content, but the video doesn't play (something about old plugins, I think?).

Any ideas how to get this working?

  -direct command line option
Posted by: jcole998 - 2018-03-16, 01:33 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

I've had good success with launching NextPVR using the command line -Direct "Live TV" option after setting the channel in the registry. After the launch and live TV is visible, I get a message when I press the ctrl-K key to begin recording. The message asks "Are you sure you want to delete this recording?" and offers OK and Cancel. Clicking Cancel returns to normal viewing. Clicking OK also returns to normal viewing but now if I press ctrl-K, the familiar manual recording dialog appears.

Is this normal behavior? What recording is it asking me to delete? Is there more than one way to use the -direct option?

Thanks.

  No more than 7 days?
Posted by: BrianGGG - 2018-03-16, 12:40 PM - Forum: NextPVR iOS and AppleTV Clients - Replies (3)

Hi. Even though I have loaded NextPVR with 10 days of Guide data, it appears that I can only see 7 days ahead on the IOS client.
Is this intentional, and if not can this be considered as a future enhancement?

thanks
