Hi since I used Threadfin as a IPTV proxy for nextpvr my recording rules don't work anymore.
Do I need to adjust something in threadfin or nextpvr to bring to work again?
I have a new NextPVR install that with a number of UK channels via a SAT>IP server. I only have a couple of recurring schedules setup so far but they don't seem to be causing recordings to be scheduled when the EPG updates (mostly from Schedules Direct).
For example - I have Douglas Is Cancelled set to record All Episodes - but the episode on 17th July isn't scheduled despite it being in the TV guide - any ideas?
Log attached immediately after a manual EPG update.
I would like the have ability to toggle to sort channels by channel name in UI clients and the Web Player. Now with FAST and other non linear channels it makes more sense to use the alpha keys then the a remote by channel number since the channel number might not even be assigned or fixed. The alpha key in UI client could jump in the list. Also when an m3u is imported it might start in alpha order but new channels get appended with each rescan.
I am torn on what the number key should do in this mode, number or percentage jumps either would be ok. During live tv it should be by channel number.
Greetings. Longstanding and up-to-date Windows 10 + NextPVR + HDHomeRun Prime HDHR3-CC v20231214 with Xfinity CableCard setup. Limited Basic cable package so not many unique channels (lots of duplicates, though).
As Xfinity is known to do, they recently deleted some channels and added others.
I went into the HDHomeRun Setup utility which ultimately goes to a local IP address to scan for channels. I've done this routine many, many times before, but this is the first time where a couple of the new channels were detected without a channel name or callsign (just a number):
When I go into Devices in the NextPVR settings to scan for new channels, it doesn't see those new nameless channels, and those were the only updates it doesn't see:
I've never had an issue detecting and adding new channels before. The only wrinkle is the fact that these two are nameless. DTAs connected to other TVs in the house pick up those new channels (362 and 363) just fine as KUNS2 (TBD. network) and KUNS3 (The Nest network).
Log files attached.
Any ideas? Multiple scan retries, rebooting the PC, and power cycling the HDHomeRun haven't helped.
The UKTV channels change their name on Tuesday 16th July with the addition of “U&” in front of the existing name such as “U&Yesterday”! Goodness knows why the BBC decided to do this!
For Freesat and Freeview viewers the changes will happen automatically overnight! For NextPVR users I am uncertain how easy it is to correctly edit the existing setup which includes Channel Name, possible EPG name and Recurring Recordings. There will be some uncertainty afterwards it will all work as intended!!
For that reason I plan to delete all four channels and rescan for the channels with their new names. I currently use XMLTV EPG so that source will need editing. All that should be left to do is recreate the Recurring Recordings which should be reasonably easy for me as all but two items are in the current EPG! Afterwards it would be a good idea to delete all the Recurring Recordings that use the old channel names!
I Try to Import one channel on Devices Import using m3u,and finally i click save, however, nothing goes on,it sill said This device currently has no channels, hit the Scan or Import buttons to add channels to this device. Even refreshing is useless
Anyone trying NextPVR on windows 11 may want to try this.
mpeg-2 seems to be unsupported by windows 11 and maybe windows 10, i downloaded the media player codec pack, i got it from techspot, majior geeks also has it, one could also try the k-lite codec pack or try the ffdshow codec download listed here on NextPVR forums.
In NextPVR in Settings/Decoders I switched the video renderer from default setting of EVR to VMR9 and switched the video codecs from microsoft to ffdshow and left the audio codecs as microsoft.
I took a desktop screen shot and attached it to this post, Ive worked on Kodi and Media Portal in past and NextPVR was much less painful, other then working on decoder settings it went smoothly, the only issue in setup was installing the correct driver for my tuner card which had nothing to do with NextPVR.
Great job NextPVR and I was recently laid off from my job but when I am back in the employment scene I will make a donation.
I found a older driver for tv tuner card in my database and nextpvr was able to recognize it, my tv guide updated and watching live tv, had to change my video decoders from microsoft to ffdshow and select allow ffdshow.
everything working great
I can now access devices however my tv tuner card does not appear, the tv tuner card does appear in the windows 11 device manager and shows it is recognized by windows and I have it upto date on the drivers, also my tv tuner card does show up in NextPVR settings/clients and i am using a dual tuner card and both show up in NextPVR settings/clients and both show up in windows 11 device manager but neither one shows up in NextPVR settings/Devices.

I am trying to set up NextPVR on my laptop, and "localhost:8866/login" is asking for my username/password. I don't know what account they mean.
Do I have to register? and where do I do that?
