  which xmltv uk data source(s)?
Posted by: fluffykeith - 2018-01-28, 08:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I'm using xmltv gui with the Bleb source, but limited channels. I can't get radio times to work, I think it's not worked for a long time. OTA guide only has a short number of days.
So what are folk in the UK using for their guide source? or is there a way to get RT to work?

cheers

picture in picture swap - sound lost
Posted by: fluffykeith - 2018-01-28, 08:11 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hi
Unfortunately I had to rebuild my media PC.
Got everything working and had a play with the picture in picture... with a PIP on the screen I then hit "swap", pictures swapped but sound vanished.
I can't get the sound back, tried going through the codecs and back to my previous working ones, rebooted, reinstalled NPVR over the current.

No sound comes through at all from NPVR, when playing anything that makes a sound, tv, video music.

So what did the "swap" do? and how do I get it back?

cheers

Keith

Don't even know where to start
Posted by: DFergFLA - 2018-01-28, 06:45 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I am sorry if I sound frustrated, but I am. I am new to this NextPVR. I am using it for IPTV. I have configured the server and can watch video in NextPVR. However when I enable to addon in Kodi... I get PVR Manager is loading chanels then a few seconds later Kodi crashes. The PVR mangers doesn't even get past 0%. Then when I restart Kodi it crashes almost at once. The only way for me to run Kodi now is to stop the NextPVR server. Needless to say this isn't what I want. I don't even know where to begin. I have tried changing the port numbers and the pin in the client section of the Server settings. When i do that I can run Kodi, but as soon as I reconfigure the NextPVR addon in Kodi, it crashes the entire Kodi again.

A default group for DVB-T/T2 only
Posted by: bicbasher - 2018-01-28, 03:03 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Since adding IPTV, I now have to create a 'Freeview' group when adding DTT channels as they all get mixed up in All Channels. I'd like to see a group by default that only uses the DVB-T/T2 or satellite tuner as a channel group, which would save time in re-adding them when I need to reinstall NPVR.

  Guide Plus Channel mapping
Posted by: TomPyd - 2018-01-27, 08:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (18)

Hi,
I didn't see anything on this so I'm creating a new post.
When you go to Settings->Channels and edit a channel, it displays the "Channel Details" Dialog, but under "EPG Source" -> "Mapping" is defaulting to display the guide for the channel # (listed righ under "General") instead of what the actual mapping is, as it did on the past. I'm not sure what version this started happening, but it makes it difficult to troubleshoot guide not matching the programmed channel when you can't see what it is currently set to.
I hope I explained that clearly enough.
Thanks for you time and efforts.

Kodi's TV Recordings Listing vanishes right before my eyes
Posted by: ChaosMageX - 2018-01-27, 08:21 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

Okay, so after restarting Kodi about a dozen times, I finally managed to get the NextPVR PVR Client Addon to load all the way and display all of my Recordings from the TV tab. I thought my problems were solved at this point, and I would just have to restart Kodi many times now in order to get it to work. So, I decided to start watching the newest episode of 9-1-1. Unfortunately, the closed captioning parsing wasn't working, so I have to do my usual ritual of letting the recording run for about 5 minutes, then stopping it, then resuming it, which usually gets the closed captioning parsing working, and then rewinding it back to the beginning so that I can watch it all with closed captioning. However, after I did the first half of the ritual, stopped the recording, and waited for the little resume arrow to appear next to the recording, something weird happened. After I stopped it at about 1:17pm, the little arrow appeared like it should, and I'm just sitting there staring at the recordings listing while sipping my drink, getting ready to resume the recording, and then suddenly...

It vanishes! The recording listing completely disappears right before my very eyes, like the Kodi was doing a rather unpleasant magic trick for me. The view of my four recordings in the 9-1-1 folder is replaced with the view of all the Recordings folders, except none of the folders are there, save for Ask This Old House, which was currently recording at the time. This happened after 1:18pm, so I exited out of Kodi, backed up its log, and then went and backed up the log on the server. I've attached those logs here, in the hopes someone can tell me how Kodi did this disappearing act and how I can stop it from doing it in the future.

The interesting part should happen after this line in the Kodi log, which is about when I stopped the recording:

13:17:00.534 T:18446744072370213888 DEBUG: AddOnLog: NextPVR PVR Client: SetRecordingLastPlayedPosition

I'm thinking this weird occurrence is related to the problems I've been having trying to get the NextPVR PVR Client Addon to work at all after upgrading to Kodi 17.6. Like I said at the beginning, I had to restart Kodi at least a dozen times to even access my recordings. During those dozen other times, the Addon either didn't load at all, giving me the "Addon couldn't be loaded" error message, or it "partially" loaded, in which case I can see the Channels listing, but the Recordings listing is either blank or it just shows the recordings that are currently recording at the time.

Here is the log from the server, which is only 2.29 MB, but won't upload to the forum because it's just a few BYTES over the limit, I think:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=12cAPsj...doX2HuD3hS

Remember, my server's clock is about 3 seconds ahead of / faster than the clock on the Amazon Fire TV I was using to watch my recording of 9-1-1, give or take a second, so remember that when trying to correlate events between the Kodi client log and the NextPVR server log.

It would really help if the ZIP file size limit were increased ever so slightly to 2.5 MB.

  NextPVR very unstable for me
Posted by: Rikki - 2018-01-27, 04:13 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I am new to NextPVR and wanted to give it a try. I had endless trouble getting it to install on my Win 7 system, with different errors along the way, mainly 'unhandled exceptions'. I had to remove and reinstall several times before it finally started working. I only tried to use it on New Zealand FTA IPTV streams. At first it wouldn't play anything but eventually it started working. Not sure what made the difference. I just closed and restarted it a couple of times. I never tried the record functions, just getting it to play was already hard enough. It also had problems reading the EPG at first, though eventually that worked. I managed to play a couple of channels but then it started stuttering and I began getting 'capture device not found' errors. Finally it crashed with a Windows app crash error.

This program is a nice idea but I can't get it to work at all for me. I am attaching the log files folder for the benefit of anyone who wants to investigate this. I am not requesting support because the software just isn't worth the hassle for me. I should add that the IPTV streams I was trying to play are all solid and work reliably and well on Kodi IPTV simple client.

  IPTV m3u file parsing problem
Posted by: sydneybrit - 2018-01-27, 02:52 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hi there

I have an m3u playlist provided by my IPTV provider which is not being parsed correctly by NextPVR and I am not sure why.

In the latest NVPR version, .mp4/mkv urls in the playlist end up in a folder called "On Demand". However, when I import the m3u playlist, a significant number of VOD movies don't appear in the "On Demand" folder.

Here is one that did:

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="" tvg-name="Mad Max Fury Road (2015)" tvg-logo="http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/G/01/imdb/images/logos/imdb_fb_logo-1730868325._CB514892123_.png" group-title="MOVIES",Mad Max Fury Road (2015)

And here is one that didn't:

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="" tvg-name="Love Actually (2003)" tvg-logo="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTY4NjQ5NDc0Nl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwNjk5NDM3._V1_UY1200_CR90,0,630,1200_AL_.jpg" group-title="Christmas Collections",Love Actually (2003)

The difference between the 2 EXTINF entries appears to be in the "tvg-logo" strings, with the latter having a more complex URL.

I can still find the channels if I look in "All Channels", however the channel name appears to be scrambled e.g. the string...

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="" tvg-name="Love Actually (2003)" tvg-logo="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTY4NjQ5NDc0Nl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwNjk5NDM3._V1_UY1200_CR90,0,630,1200_AL_.jpg" group-title="Christmas Collections",Love Actually (2003)

has been loaded as channel:

1814 0,630,1200_AL_.jpg" group-title="Christmas Collections",Love Actually (2003)

Any ideas?

Location of Guide.xml in XNEWA on RPi2?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2018-01-27, 02:16 AM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (2)

Hi martin

Apologies if I did ask this before, I searched but could no find it.

Some time ago I changed my GBPVR then NPVR guide to have no spaces; I have been playing with the RPi2 as a client again and it works like my trusty PCH, but I cannot for the life of me find where in XNEWA I would adjust the Skin. I did use WinSCP and searched the whole root for such a file, but no joy.

Here is the old thread:

https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post432686

What is odd is that the PCH Skin (Guide.xml) is adjusted by amending the Guide.xml file on the server; why doesn't it do the same for the Pi, just replicate what is on the server?

Can you help please?

ta

k.
