Tried: nextpvr -removehistory, nextpvr -recurring (in command window I assume?, I didn't get any errors or feedback in the command window).
Not sure where NextPVR draws information for "repeat" and "new" airings; however, I'm having an odd issue with several of my shows. I have a prime example with a PBS show America's Test kitchen.
Searching for all episodes shows an episode airing on 01-26-18 (this is actually a new episode, however it states it originally airs on 01-20-18):
Going back to find all episodes for 01-20-18 shows that there is no episode airing this day:
I'm not sure which logs to post, I tried to run nextpvr -recurring from a command window but that didn't really seem to update my recurring shows in the nvpr.log so I'm assuming I need a different log. Just let me know what I need to do and I'll post them here. This is happening a bunch with several of my shows (a future first airing shows that the episode "previously aired" (in the future), go and check the date it claims its going to previously air and there is no listing for the show at all).
I also noticed there is no new tag on several PBS shows that I know are brand new, does this information come from schedules direct?
I am currently trying to setup a simply IFTTT link for Google home & nextpvr so that I can say things like :
Record X
Or
Series link Y
However I can't seem to find any documents listing the commands / API that I can use for nextpvr to search & set recordings.
Does anyone know if there is some documented already?
Since this whole thing is voluntary(no deadlines) - stations, tv manufacturers, content, etc. I wonder how quickly this is going to be adopted at the local market. I also wonder is your local station(s) will go DRM crazy (like Time Wraner did).
Hi. The Recording Service stopped again, at about the same time as yesterday. It appears to be when I try to start two scheduled recordings at the same time (10am my time). My IPTV provider allows up to five concurrent streams, so this shouldn't be a problem, but NPVR obviously isn't coping with it. Having noticed the problem, I was able to start the Recording Service again, and it appears to be continuing to run, now with a PID of 544. Today's contents from the Log folder are attached.
Just a few questions as I've been tinkering around with this program...
How to assign period and comma in keymappings.xml, editing it works as it should but these two characters don't seem to work.
How to add sounds to the interface like when selecting something or going back a screen, similar to XBMC for example.
How to remove unwanted screens in the interface like under recordings, the conflicts screen and/or the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Simple yet powerful program so far I must admit!
I understand there are addons for XBMC and Kodi but I prefer to use the native client
I am in teh USA and I don't need anything fancy, just at least somewhat reliable. I just want to be able to watch digital TV stations on my PC once in a while as I work on other things on my PC. Awesome picture quality is not necessary as I have an older system anyhow with an older graphics card.
Must be USB or PCI (not PCIE, I have no more PCIE slots available). But if there are no PCI digital tuners, then PCI is out.
Must work with Windows Media Center and work on the following system:
Dell Optiplex 760
Win 7 Pro 64-bit
6GB RAM PC2-6400/800MHz
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz CPU
I also don't want to spend more than around $30, so I don't mind if you suggest equipment that isn't the latest and greatest. I will most likely be buying used anyhow.
I have a couple I'm eyeing up right now so if you could give me feedback on these, that would also be great...
- PCTV Pinnacle 801e SE USB Tuner - used $24
- Hauppauge WinTV 150 26552 NTSC/NTSC-J TV Tuner Card 5187-7619 Rev B268 PCI card (I have no idea if this is digital or not) - used $15
- KWORLD UB445-U2 ATSC DIGITAL Hybrid TV TUNER USB P/N:KW-B445-U2 - this one is new, old stock for around $27
I have NextPVR installed on a Windows 10 laptop. It was working fine yesterday, but today when tuning a live channel, I get 'Unable to communicate with recording service'. Recordings are also failing. I checked the NPVR Recording Service in Task manager, Services, and it showed it was stopped. I started it again, but it stopped about a second later. I cannot get the recording service to keep running. Any ideas?
Hello, before I went out of town for the holidays I enabled the web UI on my NextPVR server so I would be able to watch my recordings from the hotel. After enabling the UI and opening port 8866 on my router, I tried accessing the UI from my cellphone with WiFi turned off (so theoretically it had to connect over the Internet) and I could see my recordings, so I thought I was good to go. Once I got to my hotel room, I tried to login from my tablet and phone but both of them loaded an empty page after logging in (The menu bar shows listing "Now", "TV Guide", "Recordings", "Scheduler" and "What's New See what has been recorded in the last 7 days"... etc, but nothing appears under "Recent Recordings", "Upcoming Recordings", "Live TV", There is no TV Guide, and there is only a selection box under "Recordings" and "Scheduler". I tried clearing the browser's cache (as directed in another thread) but the page is still empty.
When I got home and checked locally it worked so I called my dad and asked him if he could log in and check from his computer (he lives halfway across the state) and strangely enough he said it seemed to be working for him. I tried from work today and it doesn't work from there.
Does anybody have any ideas what I can do to fix this issue?
When I tried from work, Some errors do show under "developer tools" in chrome:

I'm not sure why, but today my EPG (using Zap2XML) will not update. I've been using the setup for a few years, nothing has changed, but updates will not process. I've emptied the EPG and tried updating again, and nothing. I setup the UpdateEPG.bat file and tried it that way, nothing. Did a total clean install (even deleted old NPVR DB) and started from scratch, still nothing.
In the log (attached) it looks like listings are pulling from the XMLTV file, but nothing shows up in the EPG (screenshot attached).
Live TV works, I just can't get any program information all of a sudden and I don't know why. Any suggestions on getting my EPG back?
