  No bitstream audo from NextPVR
Posted by: RKCRLR - 2017-12-10, 08:02 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I'm almost there...Logs attached (see, I did read the READ BEFORE POSTING).
I have my HTPC connected to my TV via a HDMI cable. I have an optical cable from the TV to my AVR for audio. I also have Kodi installed (with the NextPVR plug-in) as well as X-NEWA. However, I'd prefer to use NextPVR as the front end.
If I watch live TV or a recording in NextPVR my receiver only gets a PCM signal. However, if I watch the same shows in Kodi or X-NEWA I get bitstream audio. I've tried several audio decoders (SAF6) but they all give the same results.
What do I need to do to get bitstream from NextPVR?
Thanks

Youtube.tv considered IPTV, can I view/record via NPVR?
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2017-12-10, 02:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

YouTube has a new offering in my area called YouTube.tv (not the YouTube site). Not quite sure of the difference between streaming and IPTV, I believe this is a streaming site, is it also considered IPTV?

Can I integrate this with NPVR to display schedule and record?

How to grab xmltv file for IPTV service?
Posted by: donschjr - 2017-12-10, 11:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

My IPTV service works in NextPVR but apparently it can't grab the XML file for the guide, is there an easy to use program that can do this and unpack the file which is compressed in a .gz? I can manually download the file and extract it.
Edited to add: I just tried adding some channels from the xml file I extracted but I still get no details from the guide so apparently the file doesn't work.

  Recommend an IPTV service
Posted by: jd1940 - 2017-12-10, 03:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (67)

I'm just starting to explore IPTV but confused what type of service I would need to integrate with NPVR. I'm not looking for a freebie, but a reasonable service I could do scheduled recordings from. Any suggestiuons?

Tuner card died -- looking for recommendations
Posted by: johnsta - 2017-12-10, 01:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

I have a Windows 7 configuration with a 4-tuner Ceton card and a
comcast cablecard. When Windows Media Player stopped working last
year, I switched to NPVR, and it's been working OK, with little
effort.

Until now. It looks like the Ceton card has died.

I've been looking online for alternatives. There's a 6-tuner Ceton
card, but the reviews say it doesn't work. The most obvious is a
Comcast dvr, but that apparently won't let me record files in anything
like the *.TS file format, and apparently doesn't work with NPVR.

So I'm looking for recommendations. Are there any other choices that
work with NPVR and a Comcast cablecard? If not, then what's the next
best way to go?

I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Non-numeric value in Edit Digital Channel form throws exception and causes problems
Posted by: David Lowndes - 2017-12-10, 12:58 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

It also gives rise to a situation that's not straightforward to recover as something is corrupted and you can no longer get back to that form to correct the information.
Also, once in this state, several UI operations encountered similar exceptions, though I didn't keep all those stack traces.

I did eventually find that I could re-edit the channel via Devices to recover the situation.

Here's the exception stack trace:

************** Exception Text **************
System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.
at System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal)
at System.Number.ParseInt32(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info)
at NUtility.ChannelMapping.ParseInt(String val)
at NUtility.ChannelMapping.ExtractTuningCache()
at NUtility.ChannelMapping.get_Locator()
at NextPVR.Settings.ChannelDetailsForm.ChannelDetailsForm_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)

at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

I'd encountered this by typing a hex ONID value because my TV shows the channel SID, TSID, & ONID as hex values, and at the time I hadn't recognised that NPVR was using the decimal value, so I typed the hex ONID (233a) that my TV showed and got into a mess.
Looking at the call stack, I'd recommend using TryParse() rather than Parse(), and handling the error appropriately.

Background - several SD channels (such as ITV) show fine on the TV (the TV diagnostic shows no errors and a good signal strength) but break up terribly and are unwatchable in NPVR (& Media Centre), and seeing the different hex/decimal numbers I thought the PC tuner was tuning to the wrong signal for those channels - though I now realise I was mistaken in that assumption.

Additionally, can I suggest that all the UI form's behaviour with the OK (Enter) and Cancel (Esc) keyboard handling be sorted out please. It should be an easy matter of setting the correct properties of the forms & OK/Cancel button controls, no code changes needed.

I'm using NPVR 4.0.5 (171208)

Other than these small points - great work!

"Flashing" white blocks at bottom of OSD in 4.0.5
Posted by: sgilani - 2017-12-09, 11:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I'm getting some "flashing" white blocks at the bottom of the OSD in 4.0.5 (running on Win10 Pro, Intel Kaby Lake chipset). Choice of decoder doesn't change behavior.

I've attached logs, and here's a small video clip showing what happens:

  OnDemand screen empty
Posted by: sgilani - 2017-12-09, 10:13 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Just installed 4.0.5 and am trying out some IPTV stuff. I imported the m3u and xmltv for the guide data. All of the on-demand things show up in the guide. I enabled the OnDemand plugin, but there's nothing in there. Is there a way to "mark" which things are on demand, or how does that get detected?
