I apologize for posting what's probably a stupid problem and largely one of my own making. I have an HDHomeRun Connect. Everything was working well until recently. After a Windows 10 upgrade (I think that was the start) I started getting an error message... something about a filter not found? I had the bright idea that if I deleted the HDHomeRun devices I could have NextPVR find them again and maybe the problem would be solved. I've not been able to refind them, even after reinstalling NextPVR. The tuners are working okay; I can use them fine in the HDHomeRun app. I attach logs.
Guide stop updating completely and when I try to update manually I keep getting error message's stating "Date requested (2017-11-18) not within-> for station id 31268" also for station id's 11066, 18774, 11037, 11218, 14902. and 49017. It has been working great and updating the complete guide until today.
I have a question about the new Ctrl-K function... It doesn't seem to allow typing a title for the recording and uses only "Default." Was this behavior intended? Can a future release allow title input?
Well! I don't recall reading anywhere about the enhanced capability of the Ctrl-K keystroke. Where it used to just begin a recording of the live TV channel being watched and setting the duration as dictated by the EPG, it now presents the full manual recording dialog! WELL DONE! I can now get rid of Total Media Extreme! Love Keeping It Simple, Sammy!
My wife has instructed me to get the NextPVR server out of the living room. Browsing the forums has shown me a few ways that would allow watching recorded shows but I dont either have the required hardware or setup skill. My current hardware to set up are an Amazon Fire tv, a google chromecast, and a sony smart blueray player. I also have the IOS app working fine, but it doesnt seem to be compatible with the chromecast. Will the samsung app work on other items? is there something I can setup with VLC to make this work? I have just started looking at the NEWA. I dont know if that is my next step or not. Can someone point me in the right direction? Or should I just go and buy a new piece of hardware...what is the cheapest and/or smallest option?
I just wanted to report that the newer versions of NextPVR seem to have a problem with HDHomeRun Extend (transcoding unit).
For me, on certain channels there is about a 90% chance that the channel won't load and the only thing that that displays is a black screen (the other 10% it might load fine). This also impacts recording, if I play back a saved file that was recorded, it is also a black screen when played back through NPVR. The file seems corrupted, if I play the saved file in Kodi it just crashes instead of black screen. Note: I don't think the black screen is at all related to missing decoders, I sorted that out long ago.
I downgraded to NPVR version 3.6.6 and everything works fine on this version. Anything above version 3.6.6 has issues though. I've experimented with this multiple times so am fairly confident in my findings.
One thing I haven't tried yet is to turn off transcoding and see if that helps any at all (just as an experiment). If I get some time I'll try that out.
Hi I have some small problem that I would like to solve.
I use NextPVR only with IPTV channel list.
In NextPVR Windows interface the channel change takes about 1 second.
If in the same network i use the web interface the streaming startup requires 7/8 seconds.
If I use the iOS app (on iPhone 7Plus) the streaming startup requires 30/40 seconds.
Is there something I can do to solve it?
I would like to buy an apple TV to use the iOS client mainly, but 30/40 seconds are too much so I prefer wait to buy it.
I also noticed these two things:
1- in the ios client, the progress bar does not show the time when playing recordings.
2- Play / pause button is not available in the ios client while playing live channels; this inhibits the ability to take advantage of the time shift.
thanks in advance
Roberto.
First of all I am enjoying using NextPVR, but am having a slight issue. I use ACE-TV for channels and have been using their EPG. When I use their EPG and go to the movies I get 1/2 hour time slices because there is not show information as it is in the title of the channel. only 1/2 hour of the movie will play or record. I just got Schedules Direct and I attempted to put a movie as VOD or PPV, while this got rid of the 1/2 hour slice it will not play or record, just a black screen.
I would use Kodi, but it seems not to load channels and EPG from the backend and the only way I can record a movie is using IP simple client and a screen recorder.
I have Windows 10 64-bit v1709 fall creators update with both LAV and ffdshow decoders installed and in the decoder options for NextPVR none are listed in the drop downs except for the MS DTV-DVD decoder, which I thought was removed from windows 10?
Watching recordings was working great until last night. While trying to skip past commercials it would sometimes hang for a second to sometimes several seconds. The sound continues but video stops. Attached are my logs. I tied updating the graphics drivers and when that had no effect I tried a previous driver with no effect. It still freezes for a moment sometimes many while the sound continues. I tried pausing live TV and then skipping forward and it still works normal so the problem seems to be with those last recordings. I think my previous recordings may have been from SD channels and the one from last night was HD. after posting this I did a test and found that the SD recordings worked fine but the HD recording is freezing up after a skip. I also tried ffdshow and the SAF6 and all had the same results . I also tried changing the settings for my graphics card and so far nothing has fixed the problem. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
