Is it possible for NextPVR to record from the Composite Inputs and the ATSC Digital Tuner of the same device all at once? I am using the Hauppauge 950q.
I am trying to configure NextPVR using IPTV.
This is a paid and legal source.
In Settings:
In Devices I configured the IPTV device and I can see that 1000+ channels are loaded and the EPG loads and works.
In PVR:
When I click on Live TV I got the error message:
Unable to find available capture device (The external server generated an error: 401
Hello, I have set EPG recording. The file exists. It also has a size, but it can not be played. If the nextPVR is enabled, the computer turns on and no recording is set. I have an EPG update turned off. I use nextPVR, last version Kodi and Windows 7 x64 all update install. Live tv works. Thank you very much
I scheduled a football game to record on October 8, 2017. It did record and I checked the beginning and close to the end to ensure I had the whole game recorded. The next day I tried to play the recording and the file showed 0 bytes. I then opened NextPVR and all my channels were gone and all instances of previous recordings, scheduled recordings, etc. were gone. I installed the latest version of NextPVR and when I scan for devices, it does not find any. My device is Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 955Q. I can still view channels in the WinTV8 application and in Windows Media Center. I was unable to attach the original log file so I broke it into 5 separate files.
After NextPVR completes a recording, it will not allow the tuner to turn off. The green light remains on, and the signal monitor I'm running indicates that it is still tuned to a channel. I'm using the Hauppauge 950q. I'm running Windows 10 and using the most up to date version of NextPVR.
Since switching to a 4K display on my main client for npvr, I have experienced intermittent issues I cannot seem to solve. These issues do not occur on my server machine or another client - both of those are displaying at normal HD resolution. This is a UI issue rather than a playback issue, I think, though I will get a Direct3D error over the playback screen on occasion, mainly when it appears the "timeline" is being drawn or called at the screen bottom. Similar errors occur most often when accessing some of the "Recordings" screens, especially if I access programs with multiple entries or have meta-images etc. The error occur infrequently, but once they begin, I generally need to restart npvr to solve as the pop up immediately upon "ignore". The errors can also be eliminated by "unchecking" the settings choice that turns the animations off, but then the guide navigation etc is rather sluggish and unpredictable. I have tried re-installing some direct3D components, and making certain I am using the latest video card drivers (Nvidia GTX 950). I will see if I can pull log files, if those would be of use in diagnosing the problem? Wondering if my situation is unique here? Also - errors have occurred on the 4K machine with both the current and previous npvr versions (4.x and 3.x)
When recording shows, single recordings ere normally not a problem (although sometimes, NextPVR refuses to record two shows at the same time: it's OK at the moment)
Multiple recordings are more of a problem. Generally, to 'fix' a multiple recording, I have to watch a current show for a minute (I can't believe anyone designed software like this)
Currently, however, Next PVR says 'Unable to communicate with a recording service', so I can't watch anything, and can't record multiple shows.
Is there an easy (designed) method of recording (and saving) multiple recordings so the square goes red and it remembers?
wondering is there is any interest here for a new theme for nextpvr? im not talking about just skin color, a complete overhaul of the UI.
i have started to make some changes and created some new interface pages that is easier to browse and easier to find things. problem with the normal UI is it's not every good for lots of channels and requires lots of scrolling (i have like 500 channels).
this is what the "Now" page looks like.
from this page you'll be able to either select a channel by clicking its icon and taking you to a list of everything that is being aired on that channel. similar to the guide, but rather a horizontal layout, it will be a vertical layout. the listing will be separated into days.. this will allow you to go into a channel and view everything for that channel for whatever amount of days of data are available. from here you'll be able to quickly add a recording. from here you'll also be able to play the channel (just like the Now page) by clicking a dot menu of some sorts that will give other options (such as set it to record as well).
anyway, i have experience in designing layout, colors, etc.. but i could use some help in javascript, as im a bit inexpeirenced with it. my strenths is with php (im a former developer) and the colors and style of this new UI that im working on is inspired by a previous site of mine. i love making simple UIs that uses nothing but colors, borders and gradients rather than littered with images and crap.
all im looking for is someone to give a hand in pulling some information that i need and some javascript math for things like finding how much time is left on listing, etc.. so i can add some more features to it.
there isn't much activity here, but perhaps there is still some life here left?
