  Small NRecord.log issue
Posted by: BrettB - 2017-04-23, 02:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Sub:

This is a little thing, but it always bugs me, so when you're in the HDHR Prime code, could you take a look?

In the NRecord.log file, the output from the HDHR status check has an extra line break causing a blank line as shown here:

Code:

  DVTune Software Question
Posted by: GaryJ73167 - 2017-04-22, 09:32 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi all,

Below is my current configuration:

Windows 10
Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR
Direct TV Receiver - H25-100

I am currently not using an IR blaster to change channels on my DirectTV receiver.

I found that the IR blaster was not consistent.

So I now use (with the help of this forum) the network to change channels on the receiver (via http) using "dtvtune" software

This works PERFECT

The only thing is, DirecTV is becoming kind of expensive, so I have been tossing the idea around of switching to comcast

Does anyone know if the comcast receiver will also allow be able to receive commands via http ? Or is that only good for the DirecTV receivers?

Recordings Failing with "No Errors but no Data Delivered" message
Posted by: BrettB - 2017-04-22, 02:02 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (28)

In the last couple of weeks, I've had several recordings from my HDHR primes fail with the "No Errors but no Data Delivered" message. In the last 2 days these recordings failed:

  1. 4/18/17 8:59pm NCIS: New Orleans (tuner moved at record time)
  2. 4/20/17 7:59pm Scandal (not moved)
  3. 4/20/17 8:00pm The Amazing Race (moved)

I've looked in the logs (see attached) and can't really see any reason. Different channels, different tuners, some moved/some not, etc.

I also included the system logs from the HDHRs, and they don't show any sort of errors--everything looks the same there for recordings that work fine and those that failed.

Do you see anything, sub? Any ideas about anything else that I should check?

I'm out of quota, so can't upload my logs here. You can download them from:

Shows gone from database after crash
Posted by: afeldspar - 2017-04-21, 11:45 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

tl;dr version -- My NextPVR computer lost power and now the database is missing most shows it should have. What's the best way to make sure I've got a healthy database to go on with? (Restoring the missing shows would be nice, but it's not crucial.)

So. Yesterday someone accidentally knocked the power cord for the computer that I'm running NextPVR on out of its socket.

I found out about it about six hours later, and thought I fixed things; when I went to bed a couple of hours later, I thought it was back as it should be. (I can't remember if I checked what recordings it listed; I was very tired at the time.)

In the morning, I checked to make sure the program that should have recorded overnight did... but it didn't. That was when I noticed that the date on the computer was actually set to January 2008! It didn't record the program because it thought the recording date was nine years and four months in the future...

At the same time, I discovered that the database was only reporting 11 recordings, when I have easily six times that many. Thankfully, the actual files appear to all be where they should be, but the database only lists those 11.

I did a little digging in the NPVR data folder, and found the following files:

  • recording-backup.xml -- dated 4/21/2017 5:50 AM -- size 12 KB
  • recording-backup.xml.1 -- dated 1/1/2008 2:16 AM -- size 12 KB
  • recording-backup.xml.2 -- dated 4/20/2017 2:17 AM -- size 160 KB

A quick look in the files suggests that the first two files contain entries only for the 11 files the database reports now, while the last one -- the one that's 160 KB -- seems like it contains all the entries the database should contain.

What's the best way I can make sure the database is "clean", i.e. doesn't contain hidden corruption that'll cause disaster later on? Is there any (relatively easy) way to restore the database's missing entries while I'm at it? I should mention that the listing of my recurring recordings seems to be intact, thankfully.

  Naming convention for recordings
Posted by: poit57 - 2017-04-21, 03:21 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I'm testing out NextPVR as a possible replacement for Windows Media Center, but I have an issue with the format of the file names for recordings.

By default, the file names appear as "series.title.S01E01.episode.title.ts." The periods are an issue for another program I'm using to manage recordings. I found the option to disable "replace spaces with period character" under the recordings settings, but that doesn't resolve my issue. The files names now appear as "series title.S01E01.episode title.ts."

Is there any way to get NextPVR to create the file name with no periods at all (unless they are part of the title itself)? I need the file name to be in the format of "series title S01E01 episode title.ts."

  stream capture stops early
Posted by: koijh65 - 2017-04-21, 02:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

when recording from this channel (log attached) the capture always stops early. npvr shows it is recording. the led for the tuner on the hdhomerun is lit. also, the network activity light on the ethernet port flashes, indicating data is transferring from the hdhomerun. this is the only channel that has this problem. the signal quality is not that bad.

  NMT's started stuttering
Posted by: roy - 2017-04-20, 02:26 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

I built a new machine recently and things have been working well, until now all of a sudden both my A100 and A110 have started stuttering. Audio will drop mostly, but video will stutter also. Skipping forward or back fixes it sometimes. They will work fine for a while then start stuttering again. All files run fine on the pc, so I'm pretty sure it's a network issue, but I don't know why it would start suddenly, I haven't changed anything there, and I don't really know how to troubleshoot.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

  Time shift live TV..Please Help..;)
Posted by: spannernick1 - 2017-04-19, 08:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Just wondered, why dose NEXTPVR record live tv in parts, and If I pause live tv for more than 15 mins in Kodi it stops the video and makes Kodi crash..

I would love someone to fix this, the pause happens in 16.1 and 17.1.Why can't it pause for 30 mins like a SkyHD Box does,This should be better that a SkyHD Box cos it has all the space it needs from whatever your space is on your hard drive, mine is 40 gb at the moment on C:Temp.

Sometime I would forward the live tv video after going back and it would stop and crash Kodi that way too,is it cos it can't find the video file or something..???

Creators Update breaks NPVR - no GUI
Posted by: Dave48167 - 2017-04-19, 03:00 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Hi -

For many months I've used NPVR w/o issues but MS insisted I needed Creators Update. Now the NPVR GUI doesn't run. When I start it, "NextPVR (32bit)" is shown in Task Manager under Processes for about 2 sec. then it disappears.

The GUI never appears on screen. I have uninstalled/reinstalled twice but it didn't help.

Using the NTray icon, I'm able to view the NPVR Settings page and all looks normal, but w/o the GUI I'm trapped between a rock and a hard place!

I've attached two sets of log files - one captured after re-installation but prior to attempting to run the GUI, the second set after trying to start the GUI. Also attached is my config file.

Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help me out here.

Dave
