This has been covered before but I bring it up because the problem still persists.
NextPVR 3.9.2
Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV DCR-2650 (2 HD tuners)
O/S: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
Note I confirmed with Comcast that most HD channels are now MPEG4. However a few channels (mostly local ones) are still MPEG2).
After reading old posts I went back and took a look at the NextPVR Settings. I saw that all HD channels were set to MPEG2 SD. That would explain why I could not see some channels. In NextPVR Settings:
In Device double-click on 1st tuner
Right-click on first HD channel and select Edit Channel
If I already could hear and see it: change Service Type from MPEG2 SD to MPEG2 HD
else if I could hear and but not see it: change Service Type from MPEG2 SD to H.264 HD
I had to do this for all the channels > 1000
To copy changes to second tuner:
Select 1st Tuner
Select Export Channels
Select 2nd Tuner
Select Import Channels
Now I am a happy camper...at least for watching live TV. I now have to see if I can set up a service for EPG data.
I am sorry if this has been covered, but it just started happening to me yesterday. I am using a Silicon Duct Home Run Prime without issuse, unless you consider a slow moving guide an issue. Starting yesterday after selecting a show from the guilde and pressing watch, the screen goes black, then returns to page where I would selected watch. I believe everything is configured correctly, but what do I konw. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the proper direction.
As discussed in this thread, both of these recordings would freeze if I attempted to skip forward. Each is a 150mb chunk from the beginning of the .ts file:
Trying to create a media center server to my TV. I have 2 options for displaying the media files. I can see the PS3 Media Server or my WIN 10 Media Server on both Dish Network Media or my Vizeo Smart TV. Now here is the problem. I can click on my .ts or my .mpg files and neither will play the file. Is there a way to have Next PVR save in the MP4 format? I also have WIN TV 8. Both software are saving scheduled TV.
I want a dont touch anything, everything just works solution rather than a you can convert the files manually using this freeware / payware solution. WIN TV 8 is saving .mpg files. I believe it is converting the .ts file after the initial creation.
I have already downloaded DIVX, which seems to have a pretty good manual converter solution but the conversion process is slow, even on my dedicated gaming PC. I also have Wondershare, which seems to be faster. (but I dont want to have to use these)
This past Friday night NextPVR correctly recorded back-to-back episodes of The Amazing Race. These were the first recordings I had watched since I installed comskip and I was excited to see how well it worked.
First episode played perfectly. I was able to skip around, pause, etc. - no problems.
Second episode - when I tried to "skip" forward (to get to the start of the episode), NextPVR seemed to freeze, then it displayed a message "This recording was watched to completion. Would you like to delete this recording?". I renamed the comskip files for this episode, but the same problem occurred. If I play the .ts file in a third-party player (Media Player Classic or VLC) it works fine.
I have had this same problem occur before, so it seems to happen on a recording-by-recording basis. Some recordings are perfect, others freeze/dump out if I do anything other than let them play.
Any help greatly appreciated.
PC: Win7, x64...should have plenty of power/memory
Source: HDHomeRun (the old dual model), recording OTA HD (KHOU in Houston).
I have posted an update to Searchlite on the wiki with several improvements and features.
Upcoming
This feature provides a list of upcoming new shows and season premiers on TV (primarily US and UK channels) and on several streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu etc) for the months ahead. Shows not in EPG can still be recorded as an Advanced Rule.
Advanced Query
(new option on Alt-Y or Menu->Query)
Search on NextPVR using advanced rules to make as custom a query as you'd like. A possible example is
Code:
significance like '%prem%'
Feel free to share queries that you use.
New NEWA Save Search logic
NEWA Save moved to top Menu
Advanced Searches can be saved in NEWA but they will not work in NEWA itself.
NEW Saved search can be saved as NextPVR Advanced Rule recurring recordings.
Note Advance Rules stored in NextPVR can also set First Run and the Recording Directories.
Trailers
YouTube trailers in Upcoming and Movies now work but you will need NextPVR v4 to support internal playing of https streams.
UI Improvements
Group same episodes to reduce list size
EPG info popup toggles EPG Episode Description, Cast/Crew and TVDB/The MovieDB Show description
More consistent back tracking on Esc.
Hi, I just made the upgrade to NPVR 3.9.2. My server is on Microsoft Windows WHS2011 - the latest windows upgrades were also installed at the same time.
On my NMTs (A110s) the menus operate fine, but when I playback a recorded .ts file the playback will run for a few seconds max and then crash - either back to the recordings menu or with a lockup (black screen) of the NMT which then requires a reset.
The same files played through the native NMT interface play fine (so I have a long winded work-around). The NPVR PC client also plays the recordings OK.
Syntax checker output run against the my test NMT shows:

Checking GB-PVR.html links

GB-PVR Not Installed
N-PVR Installed F:\ServerFolders\Public\NPVR

<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/USB_DRIVE_A-1/mvpmc/usb_a.cgi">N-PVR via USB</a>
I cleared the logs, restarted the NPVR server and attempted to play some recordings on the test machine. The first two dropped back to the menu screen and the last one froze the NMT - zipped logs attached. My TS files are all recorded from a DVB-S2 sat card, mostly in HD but SD recordings playback also fail in the same way
Hi,
Running 3.9.2 (161119)
Just wondering..
I want to auto schedule record a specific football game each week.. as you do..
The show is always labeled 'AFL - Live' (but there's like 9 matches televised a week)
Within each match.. the description will typically include the teams names..
eg:The Eagles have claimed local bragging rights winning the last three derbies, but Ross Lyon has turned the fortunes of his Dorkers around after a tough start to the season.
Eagles is the team/game I require...
so if I can enter 'AFL - Live' + 'Eagles' as the search term?
(so it has to satisfy the presence of BOTH terms to qualify..)
This way I don't end up having to record all 9 games each week, as the other AFL games won't have the word 'Eagles' in their descriptions.
(and I'm not so interested in all the nature shows with the word 'Eagles' in their description either...)
Is there some sort of algebraic capability already in the "Keyword" section of "Keyword Recording" that will achieve this?
If not, is there another way to set this up?
thanks
AJ
i am getting this error on NPVR (version 3.9.2) startup:

i also note that recordings are not being refreshed on kodi (unless i restart kodi).
could these issues be related?
NPVR would otherwise seem to be operating normally as far as I can tell.
