I had a hunt around the forum and the wiki but cannot see a similar response, nevertheless apologies if it is covered. My server is the only client with a DVD player; so, can I play DVDs on the client but put the physical DVD in the server e.g. from a laptop client without a DVD?
Longtime NPVR user here. Had a catastrophic computer failure this summer, built a new machine and got NPVR running. All is well, except that I have terabytes of old shows that I'd like to import. I have a few copies of recording-backup.xml from pre-failure, but they are incomplete. Are there any tools for scanning the attached hard drives and importing old recordings? Failing that, if I write a script to generate a list of shows and their locations how might I go about importing them? I know I'm asking for a lot here but it would be super cool if I could get the metadata too although since all I have is a filename I doubt that will be possible.
I'm new to NextPVR and so far i like it very much. Thank you for this great software.
I try to migrate my Linux HTPC to Windows. My Linux install run Kodi, a Tvheadend server with Oscam + Smargo cardreader and my ORF TV Card in it. So far i got Oscam (cygwin) on Windows running, card detection runs fine now But i have no idea how to get NextPVR using Oscam or the Smargo. Found some tutorials from years ago involving plugins like acamd or wincsc and i did load them but no idea how to decrypt my ORF card or even config the cardreader.
So my basic question is: How do i configure NextPVR and a Smargo cardreader?
System has two brand new dual tuner HDHomeruns (the ones that produce .ts files). As a test last night I recorded dozens of show. About 10% of the recordings failed with "No errors, but no data delivered...".
In the latest software from SiliconDust, ATSC/Other is no longer an option so it is set to NextPVR. Multiple tuners and stations get this error. The signal strengths of the channels are all excellent. The failure below is a station that's just a couple miles away and has 100% signal strength.
Any suggestions?

I am interested in manually changing database contents using SQLite. In particular, data in the "status" column of the "scheduled_recording table". What are the possible values for this column and what does each value mean?

I encourage everyone to join me and to give up a drink or two and donate the equivalent price of a drink or latte or whatever you can to NextPVR. I am sure there are hardware or upgrades, broadband costs, mistress's, secret children, extortion expenses or bribes or other expenses that they can use the donations for to keep this great project alive and stress free.
As more IoT and TV devices are created and released this team needs to get their hands on them to make NPVR work on those devices too.
At the very minimum click the links for the adds out of here to where you want to go. I've noticed sites I purchase or search for appear in the ads, like newegg and others and I always click from here to get to there.

Does NPVR remove certain punctuation marks of the Schedules Direct assigned names of show recorded?
If so, what punctuation marks is invalid and removed.
I've noticed some items since November is being duplicated. All have ' in their name.
For example Bob's Burger.S01E01.Pilot.ts is recording as Bobs Burger.S01E01.Pilot.ts
I have looked around, esp in the voluminous developer section and can't pin the answer down.
The only thing I know for certain is I had MCEBuddy setup to rename.
Finally, if I use an import utility, after using a renaming tool, will NPVR ignore the imported items or will NPVR just recognize the once recorded item is back?
NPVR is configured to fetch Metadata and Artwork from the internet using all 4 sites listed (I don't have a Schedules Direct subscription tho). I have tried on numerous occasions to set the "Preferred Artwork Language" to English or Default but although the selection stays in the box when selected, exiting and re-entering the Artwork tab results in the language selection being empty. I don't know if this means that the selection has or has not been accepted and retained BUT, Yesterdays Guide refresh resulted in a well known Movie - The Odd Couple" returning a Poster which is clearly Asian in origin and the title bears no resemblance to The Odd Couple - at least not in English anyway. The Fanart appeared to be from the same Asian movie but the banner is correctly sourced from The Odd Couple (1968) movie. see attached.
I have removed the artwork from the Media/Shows folder but refreshing this show keeps returning the incorrect images. Could you check out please.
