Has anyone set this card up to work with NPVR? I tried but seem to be having issues in the setup that haven't produced any picture for playback.
I currently have it running on Windows 10 with the Aver Software and I can watch and record HDTV coming from an HDMI splitter out of my IPTV Box.
There's only the current channel or DVR'd program outputting from that HDMI. I'd much rather use NPVR if it can be set up as I like the quality and features.
I'm having trouble understanding why nrecord.exe is the cause of some my unscheduled wakeup sources?
I have disabled, unticked the 'auto updated epg' in settings
I have no other wake timers on this npvr server including MS mtasks disabled
All other hardware power management settings are all off
So the question as I see it is why does nrecord think the server should be woken and so many times?
I've zipped the current wake-timer log and to be honest I don't fully understand that; 'expires' 17:59:00, then again 17:58:30, when one of those times are actually the 'scheduled start' time?
It's not the listed times in the log that seem to be the problem but the unknown/unscheduled times that's the issue here on/off, on/off?
Also zipped the event log showing multiple nrecord.exe wakeup source entries.
I guess I've missed something here yet again and don't recall having these problems with B1511 but then again I'm an oldman.
I've been using NPVR for several years with generally good results. However, after updating both my server and client to Win 10, I've had nothing but problems. I've read through several posts about these but haven't seen any solutions. Everything worked fairly well for four days, although I've never been able to get NPVR to load as it used to after a reboot and I've had multiple occasions with the recording stopping for no apparent reason. But tonight, after a reboot of my client, I can no longer connect with the server, getting "can't connect with db3" message. I went through this once before with Win 7 and finally got it to connect by using the ip address, but that's not working this time. My server name is Jim-pc so I've tried both that and the ip address with no luck. This is my client database share entry: \\192.168.1.4\C:\Users\Public\NPVR\. It's hard for me to think this is a network problem since I can use the client File Explorer to connect to the recorded and downloaded files on the server and have no problem watching them that way. The weather and internet radio add ons work but they obviously don't need the npvr.db3.
My son keeps trying to get me to move to Kodi and I'm beginning to wonder if I should try that, although I think you have to use NPVR for recording TV so I might have the same problem. I'm open to any suggestions as this is taking way more time than it should.
New to NextPVR; installed on Win10 machine (standalone).
Clicking on the timeline of a recording or using the skip or pause buttons results in a black screen that is frozen (no video or audio). ESC or right-click gets back to Menu screen. Recording can not be Resumed but only restarted from beginning.
New to the forum and NextPVR. I'm having a strange issue with switching channels that I can't seem to solve, and I can't find any info about it on the NPVR or Kodi forums. Detailed description below, and NPVR log attached.
Issue: When already watching live TV and switching to another channel by directly entering a channel number, it fails with message "Next PVR PVR Client 'Tuner No Longer Available'"
Message can only be cleared by restarting MrMC/Kodi
Frontend Setup: Amazon Fire TV v2
MrMC 2.5.0 (have also tried Kodi 16.1 and Kodi 17.0a3)
Wired ethernet connection
Steps to Reproduce:
Start MrMC or Kodi
Start viewing a channel by selecting it in the channel list or EPG
Switch to another channel by directly entering a channel number (eg, 1-0-1-Enter)
Channel appears to switch and start buffering, but channel never starts playing
On NPVR backend, can see the tuner switching channel and creating new live TV buffer file
MrMC/Kodi displays 'Tuner No Longer Available' message
Press Stop in MrMC/Kodi and it returns to previous screen (either channel list or EPG), but tuner message remains
On NPVR backend, tuner is still locked to the selected channel and filling the buffer file (appears to not receive the Stop command from MrMC/Kodi)
Need to restart the recording service to release the tuner
Need to manually delete the buffer files
Additional Info: Issue occurs using either MrMC or Kodi on the Fire TV
Switching channel by pressing Channel Up or Channel Down -- works as expected
Switching channel by going back to the EPG or channel list and selecting new channel -- works as expected
Issue does NOT occur using Kodi on Mac or Windows
I've tested a couple other PVR backends (MediaPortal, DVBViewer) and the issue does not occur. I'm really at a loss on how to solve this issue, and NPVR is otherwise my preferred backend. Any help is appreciated!
After rescanning for available channels I'm spending half an hour deselecting all the new channels that I don't want to add.
It would be a lot more user friendly if the new channels were indicated by a mark in an additional column (or by highlighting the row) and then you could quickly scroll through the list of channels and click the checkbox of the new channels that you want to include.
