  Device Scan Crashes
Posted by: ap90033 - 2016-07-31, 11:06 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

When I select scan to scan for device frequencies/channels it crashes. I have attached logs. Fresh install, I just installed windows and then drivers/software.

Has 3.7.7 removed Numeric Skip and Back.
Posted by: hondophred - 2016-07-31, 07:46 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I upgraded to windows 10 and once i straightened out the mayhem with my remote situation I noticed I couldn't type a number and then skip that many times any more. (so 30 then skip moved me 30 minutes ahead)

Was that functionality removed in 3.7.7? I rolled back to 3.6.6 and the functionality has returned. but i don't know if it is an odd quirk in my setup or something widespread.

  Black Screen Issue - Fixed
Posted by: r81984 - 2016-07-31, 02:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I am new to NextPVR, I finally gave up on WMC.
I have a Diamond 750 PCI card.

So I kept getting a black screen. I tried every codec option. ffdshow, microsoft, cyperpower, etc.
Nothing would work. I tried messing with it for a few hours.
The scanner found all the channels, they just would not play.

I decided to just keep looking around in the settings as I was on the verge of giving up. The live tv buffer was defaulted to C:\temp. I changed it to D:\ and magically it all started working.
I have no idea how this fixed it.

It works with Kodi without any issues also.

Many artifacts when trying to pause and rewind/forward
Posted by: BobLoblaw97423907 - 2016-07-30, 07:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I just downloaded NextPVR to replace my WMC setup. One thing I noticed is that I get a considerable amount of artifacts on the screen when I pause and then try to rewind a few frames back. As I keep pressing rewind, the picture gets considerably worse to the point where I have no idea what I'm rewinding to. I can probably only press rewind three times until I can't make out what's on the picture at all.

I use a HDHomerun Prime and I have mixed results depending on the decoders I use.
I tried the LAV decoders and when I pause and rewind, it freezes and then go fast forward very fast.

When I try the MainConcept MPEG2 demo decoders. It doesn't freeze, but there are artifacts. I don't really see artifacts when I'm watching normal tv, its just when I pause or rewind and it takes about 5 seconds to recover.

Does anyone else have an issue like this? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

Differences between NextPVR and Web/Modern EPG Guide
Posted by: scJohn - 2016-07-30, 07:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I see 2 major differences between the EPG Guide in NextPVR and WEb/Modern EPG Guide. See attached screen shot.

In WEB/Modern, if the in-progress show started before the the current start time displayed in the Guide, the show title is not displayed.

In WEB/modern, if the show is classified as "NEW" (by Schedule Direct), this is not displayed.

These are not major problems, just minor.

Thanks.

  PVR addon?
Posted by: donbrew - 2016-07-30, 05:57 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (2)

So I'm setting up a new Windows 7 computer to run Kodi 17.

There is no nextpvr PVR addon anymore, so I went to a Kodi 17 installation on another Windows 10 machine and found that the nextpvr PVR addon was still there, but won't load or work anymore. Neither will the X-NEWA that was working, well it starts but won't tune or EXIT, I had to use Taskmanager to stop KODi. Except for the times it crashes Kodi.

What happened?

NextPVR 3.7.7, X-NEWA 2.4.9, Kodi 17.

  changing through Channels pop-up
Posted by: RustyChain - 2016-07-30, 05:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Viewing live TV, and using an un-pinned "Channels" pop-up box to change channels...

...if the new channel matches the current channel, the pop-up remains "up". I believe the proper response would be to close the "Channels" pop-up regardless of channel choice.

How to watch these encrypted movie channels?
Posted by: chris97979 - 2016-07-30, 01:27 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

I really dont know anything about antenna tv except for hooking it up and scanning and stuff but what i do know about these channels is that they might be in h.264 (thanks to wikipedia for helping me with that) im not sure because i saw somewhere else in the forums how to switch a channel to h.264 but there are these encrypted channels and apparently you need something called an airbx and i was woundering if i can use these channels for free on nextpvr instead of having to buy an airbox.

EDIT: forgot to mention that i tried putting the channels on h.264 and it didn't work

Channels are:

68.11: Starz
68.12: Stz Enc
68.13: Stz Com
68.14: StzKids
68.15: SHO
68:16: MovieCh
68.17: SHO2
68.18: Flix
68.21: Airbox
(i dont know why it skipped 68.19-68.20)
68.22: Epix E
68.23: Epix W

If any one could help me i would appreciate it.

  AverMedia TVT5 M779 - analog!
Posted by: martinlangley - 2016-07-30, 12:23 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Guys

I have an AverMedia TVT5 M779 (Ex Dell) installed in my Dimension 5150. When used with my external arial and Windows Media Centre it gives me lots of digital TV channels without a problem. The drivers are fine.

What I'm trying to do is use the card's analog functions to connect with my (analog) VCR to record old videotapes. The VCR is a nice Sharp model
which can deliver signals via composite video or the RF interface.

Have tried several software packages, WMC, NPVR, MerdiaPortal to acquire the VCR output, so far with no success.

Anybody have a simple suggestion for software which may enable me to grab these old but treasured videos?

Thanks as ever

See attached image at:
https://1drv.ms/i/s!AvNLP5VoTt5ejrwVCdIV3bq26v9ohA

When calling for a file description NScriptHelper.exe works okay.

When trying the "Delete" command however I get the error shown.

How can I correct this?
