With no "Search" funtion on the new modern web ui, controlling NPVR from WAN is very limited. Luckily sub added that function to the iOS client. Any way to put it also into the the web interface?
Recently, I stumbled upon open source PVR programs, but being a complete newbie to all this, I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure it out. I have Comcast cable, and what I want to do is, use the Next PVR setup to record shows from my cable service. Basically, setup my own "Tivo" service so I can avoid their monthly fees. Is this possible?
I am running X-Newa in Kodi (16.1) on the NVidia Shield Android TV. Occasionally when trying to play a recording it fails to play for no apparent reason. If I exit Kodi, and then go back in the same recordings play without issue. The logs seem to indicate that it fails to open the file but doesn't seem to give a reason. I am using path substitutions so maybe these are acting flaky? I have attached log files for both cases when it fails to play and plays fine. I would be grateful if you could take a look. Thanks.
I am running Win10 and NextPVR 3.6.6. I have a Silicondust HD Homerun tuner with a cable card. NextPVR doesn't detect my tuner. I don't know where to put the IP address of my tuner in the setup either. I can ping the tuner from the PC that NextPVR is connected to and I can use Kodi to view the channels so I know it's working. Is Next PVR supposed to automatically detect the tuner or is there a place I tell it to look?
When setting up the Hauppauge HVR-2550, NextPVR didn't recognize the FM Radio Tuner.
Please support this card's FM Radio Tuner for both Live FM Radio and Scehduled recording on the FM Radio Tuner.
I have a Hauppauge HVR-2550, which has two tuners. Setting up the device recognized both tuners, but I found that when watching live TV, when a scheduled record starts, I get a message telling me to select LiveTV xor the scheduled record.
If LiveTV is using one tuner, shouldn't a scheduled record use the other tuner?
Sorry to bring up an old issue, but this is the first time I have tried this and I seem to be hitting the wall. I know I am doing something wrong because others have had success with this, but I haven't discovered the Rosetta Stone to allow me to record to a network drive.
After reviewing previous threads on this topic, here's what I have tried so far...
1.The target folder on the network drive (Windows file system-ntfs) is shared with full control to everyone.
2. I am using UNC path names. Both the npvr PC and network drive PC are W10, on the same Public network. The network drive/folder is read/write accessible via Windows File Explorer from any PC on the network.
When I try to record, I get this message in the error nrecord.log:
2016-07-27 13:03:44.896 [DEBUG][9] DefaultDirectoryChoice: first
2016-07-27 13:03:44.900 [DEBUG][9] Preferred filename is 'The.Dr..Oz.Show.S07E181.Biggest.Health.Improvements.to.Your.Home.for.Under.10.Bucks'

3. If I change the NPVR service logon account to use my account (admin privledges) instead of Local System, the recording service refuses to start because of "error 1069" - logon failure.
Where am I going wrong? I must be missing something, help!
I'm in the process of planning my upgrade to Win10 and I am desperately trying to avoidn having to manually export the WMC schedules I created over the years and manually recreate them into NPVR. I looked, but can't find any instructions anywhere.
I am hoping there is a way to migrate the schedules (season recordings, at least, history of recorded shows would be fantastic) to NPVR.
Hi,
I have started using Schedule Direct and really like it, and how easy it integrates with NextPVR.
One this I miss is the ability to change the feed to include season / episode number in the description. It makes it much easier to see if I have seen it or not via Kodi.
Is there a way to either change the feed to include this or some Post processing that I can do to add this / other info?
