Hi
Is there is a way to preview when fast forwarding or rewinding recorded videos, ie when moving along the progress bar to fast forward, preview of video show in small window.
Hi Sub
Would it be possible to have a toggle on off of the On Screen Navigation that appeared in the last version of NPVR.
We always use a remote for viewing - and the buttons look untidy, even for only 5 seconds that they show.
A true / false setting in config would be ideal.
To see it in action: Go to Recordings screen, scroll down to a show that is not at the top of the list. Click once to see the episodes, info, etc. Click Back. It takes you to all the way back to the top of the Recordings list, instead of going to where you previously were in the list. Not good for the WAF when she's scrolling through to see what she wants to watch next.
Can this be configured with a setting somewhere or is it hard coded?
I am becoming so annoyed already. I really hope someone can help me out.
Here is EXACTLY what happened:
For the past 36 hours, my Happauge 1212 has been working fantastic. Scheduled recordings, watching TV,..etcâ¦etcâ¦. flawless
So, about an hour ago, I was messing around with a gold game on my PC (Just got a new video card a week ago, so, I have been trying some games here and there). I changed the resolution in my game, and, all of the sudden, my PC locked up solid. High pitched squealâ¦I probably changed it to a resolution that the game didnât supportâ¦..I couldnât exit out of anything, couldnât CTRL-ALT-DELâ¦â¦couldnât minimize anythingâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦just a black screen and a high pitched squealâ¦â¦â¦..no big dealâ¦..I held in the power button on my PC.
So, windows booted back up..back in business as usualâ¦.
Now, the next scheduled recording kicks in, and, I noticed the device BLUE trim lights up..I think, âcoolâ¦..ââ¦I found it odd because that wasnât working prior to the PC freezingâ¦
But, now, if the device has to change channels a few times (like, 2 or 3 recordings), it stops recording saying that there is no device connectedâ¦. As a matter of fact, it does this whether it is a scheduled recording, or, if I change the channel more than 2 or 3 timesâ¦.itâs as if I get 2 or 3 channel changes, then it fails.
If I power off the Happauge 1212 and power it back on, Iâm back in business again. Or, I can unplug the USB and plug it back in. Either one will work. But, I didnât have to do this beforeâ¦.
This is so frustrating because I had things running perfectlyâ¦. Can that blue illuminating light be drawing too much power? I am confused now
UPDATE: What I did was uninstall all of the software that came with the unit (I forgot this was still installed. IR blaster software, Scheduler,â¦.etcâ¦.etcâ¦.) and powered the PC down completely. Unplugged the Happauge and powered it off as well. Powered the PC back up. Powered the Happauge, and plugged it back in.
So far (fingers crossed knock on wood) it has been working for 3 consecutive scheduled recordings.
I still want to leave this post here just in case anyone may have experienced this before. Hoping someone can give me some tips if they have
Hey all...I just found the forum, which is great! Cause I have a question before I plunge almost $2000 into a NAS.
WD has this new box coming out that's billed to be the perfect fit with Plex and can transcode up to 4 different lines at once. I love it. I'm wanting to get the 32tb version and split it off into a RAID 10 and have 16tb for recording and my movies. WAAAAYYY more than enough room. I currently use a i5 PC with a RAID 10 and 6tb of room. I have around 2tb usually to play with as long as I delete shows as the season finishes.
Now...I know some times you can and sometimes you can't install these PVRs or other apps/programs onto these boxes. Is this possible? I believe I saw some where people were using the tiny 1 and 2tb WD Clouds with NextPVR but I cant find that info.
Basically I want to do this.... Remove the PC from the equation. I don't like having it run 24/7 and the WOSB app stopped working all the time when I upgraded to Windows 10. the WD NAS is meant to stay on all the time.....so I want to put Plex and NextPVR in it and have it there,,,at all times for me to access. I have the HDHomeRunPrime that brings my TV into the network so that'd be the source going into the NextPVR.
What's the verdict? Possible? Not possible? Need to wait and see? I think they are about to start selling this and it's not out. Any links out there to video or documentation on how I can access the DVR and add or remove programs if this is possible? Anything!
I appreciate it guys! I've been using this program for a year and it's wonderful! I was planning on buying the HDHomeRun guys DVR but at that price and the way it doesnt work...nope.
Thanks again! Hoping I posted in the correct location....if not...move me around, toss me over
Please post any support issues in the support forum.

For example, http://127.0.0.1:8866/control?key=40&cli...oteControl, where key is the keycode, and "RemoteControl" is the client identifier to tell it to act as a remote control for the main session.
- fixed issue with resume position not always being presented after previously watching an in-progress recording.
- added playback keyboard controls that don't require Ctrl key for common activities. ie, spacebar to toggle pause, F to fastforward, R to rewind, right-arrow to skip forward, left-arrow to skip back. Will look to extend this to other keys if users recommend further actions they'd like to access with single key.

- old recording conflicts will be automatically deleted a day after they were due to occur.

I have used Birtles XMLTV grabber and Radio Times data since God was a boy ... but, sadly, the data source has now gone.
I have evolved my own ungainly EPG process that requires an XMLTV file as a starting point. What is the best / easiest way to get an XMLTV file from Schedules Direct?
Thank you for listening.
Edit: XMLTVGUI says that it works but I get a broken layout in Settings and I suspect that XMLTVGUI is not compatible with the current SD.
1st, I want to thank everyone in this forum who has helped me out. This is a fantastic community, and, without your help, I would have never got my software going to where it is now.. thanks
With that said, I have a hardware question about my device. Probably a simple one too. I "DO" realize this is a forum for NextPVR, and, not my Happauge 1212, but, I cant think of a better place to ask than here.
The IR blaster that comes with my unit, according to the manual, is a peel and stick eye that is supposed to stick DIRECTLY to my DirectTV receiver. This seems odd. I mean, I really dont mind the stickiness going on the receiver, but, that would mean it is shooting the signal from the bottom of the IR blaster, doesent that seem odd?
The below text is directly from the setup instructions:
Install the IR transmitter (blaster) at your set top box: Attach the
end of the IR transmitter over the remote sensor on the set top box to be
controlled. Placement of the IR transmitter is important! The IR
transmitter only works over a 1 inch distance, so you need to make
sure it is placed over the remote sensor in your set top box
It just seems strange that they want you to place it DIRECTLY on the sensor.
Before doing so, I just wanted to get some opinions.
Hello, I realize this is unlikely, however, I figure I'd throw it out there. I love NextPVR, It is really great software. I am blind and I do watch TV even some programs are actually described. here is an example so you know what I am talking about.
Currently, I use NextPVR combined with Kodi (The wonderful developer Ruuk created a Kodi text to speech addon for Kodi that works really well.) Also I find NEWA to be very usable.
My wishlist is that there be a way to use NextPVR itself with text to speech software, Such as SAPI. Currently I can configure it and as I said NEWA is very handy. The only thing that seems to be missing is the program itself. I would love to see that happen someday.
Anyways, Thank you for the great program and all the time and effort you have put into it.
Hello.
This is very Strange.
My set top box is able to scan and pick up TV channels in the new apartment, but when I try to connect the digital tv antenna to the kaiser baas USB TV stick and use NTPR to scan for channels, it doesn't find any channels whatsoever. I've even tried telling it to scan all regions and I'm still not getting anything.
How is it that I'm still not able to scan for the channels using my TV card, but if I reconnect the aerial to the set top box, It's able to work? is this a Nextpvr limitation?
