I was using pretty well the schedules direct EPG for Brazil but after a while I saw some channels missing and tried the XBOX Oneguide. It's great for my country and everything is working great here except the artwork.
If I got it right nextpvr is not storing the fanart links on it's database from the xml file. It's using the artwork services configured in the settings.
The problem is that most of what is returning is not right. It's returning movie covers for regular News programs and so on.
My question is. There's something diferente that can be done? Or can a plugin be developed to show the correct images pulling form the tvguide.xml file?
when i load my next pvr an go to try to scan for channels it don,t give me that option i been trying to get this up now for 5 days an cant seem to get pass this scan part any help would be great i,m doing everything in the video step by step to no avail.
I'm looking at reducing the number of USB tuners I have connected to my NUC server by replacing a PCTV292e and Hauppauge WinTV Duet with a single Hauppauge WinTV DualHD tuner (I know this will reduce the overall number of tuners from 3 to 2):
Hopefully I posted this in the right sub-forum, if not, please move.
I have been using NPVR 3.6.6 with a Hauppauge WinTV HVR 2255, running on Windows 7 (64bit), i5-3570 with 8GB RAM. The system is left on 24/7 and is set to "sleep" after 1 hour of use.
NPVR runs well and captures appropriately about 75% of the time. I've noticed that it is having lots of problems lately and reporting that "device failed to start" when it tries to record a scheduled program. The only thing I've been able to do to solve the problem is to restart the computer nightly - this seems to let the next scheduled program record, but then stops again.
Any thoughts would be welcome. I've attached the most recent log files as requested in the "sticky"
I am running WIndows 10 Home.
My HTPC is always on and never sleeps. NextPVR is always running in the background. For the past 4 months or so I am having this problem. If I restart my PC the day before, it's ok. But if I don't restart my PC.the problem always occurs. I have NextPVR set up to automatically record all my favorite shows as scheduled when they air. However, it never records them. When I go to play them back, instead I get the message "Recording service not running at recording time". If I restarted my PC the day before they aired, then it recorded them fine the following night without a hitch. It's a crap shoot as to whether I will have my favorite shows recorded this time or not. If I restart my PC that day or the day before, higher likelihood. If I haven't restarted my PC that week, then forget about it.
If this continues, I will have to find another service. I'm really getting tired of having to babysit NextPVR and making sure that it records my shows by personally having to be there the night before and turn my pc off and back on. I'd rather pay for something that works than use something for free that only works 30% of the time. But I don't even know what is a really good stable DVR software that I could use. I don't care if it costs money. My time is worth more.
I have a Colossus 2 setup and working well for on-demand recording, but I'd like to use NPVR as my DVR. For the life of me, I cannot get the Hauppauge blaster to work with my Xfinity box. However, the Harmony Hub does a wonderful job of changing channels over the Ethernet using an App/Phone/Tablet. Is there an executable/script that lets NPVR call the Harmony Hub to change channels? I searched the NPVR forums and Internet to no avail.
Hello. Please can someone point me towards a thread, Wiki, setup page, etc., that will direct me how to set up my Hauppauge 955Q on OpenElec 6 using NextPVR? I want to run both the backend and the frontend end from a Rasp Pi 2
For some background I have a HP pavilion desktop that is about 4 years old that I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and is just using it as a glorified DVR. I only run NextPVR on it. I used HDHomerun Prime as my tuner. I can watch live tv using either the HDHomerun View app or Windows Media Player with no problem. When I try to watch live tv using NextPVR, the picture is find for a few seconds then stutters and gets pixelated. It will return to normal for about 20-30 seconds then do the same stuttering. It repeats this over and over again on all of the channels, no matter if its HD or SD. I thought it was a video codec problem. I tried different combinations of video and audio codecs. None solved the problem and some gave me sound with a black screen. The LAV decoder didn't work at all for me. I'm currently using the ffshow mpeg 2 video decoder with the Microsoft DTV-DVD audio decoder for mpeg 1 audio and ac3 audio. I've tried downloading other codecs like K-Lite and a LAV decoder pack with no success. I even purchased a MainConcept video decoder pack but NPVR doesn't recognize it. I've tried playing around with the settings on the HDHomerun Prime, reinstalling NPVR, and installing a trial version of PowerDVD16, all with no success. I don't know what else to try and I'm running out of ideas. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Hey all, nextpvr has been working for a month or two for me now with little problems, now out of the blue I try to watch TV and nothing happens in kodi.. so I go directly into nextpvr app and when you click on live tv I just get a black screen. I have HDhomerun tuners and TV works just fine if I launch the HDHomeRun View app (windows 10 pc). Ideas what may be wrong and why out of the blue it stopped working? which log would be most helpful to look at? Also the only thing that changed was I started using Private Internet Access VPN on my htpc.
thanks all
** okay, its something to do with the windows firewall, disabled it and it now works again (vpn must of changed something?) What all needs to be allowed in the firewall for nextpvr to work? thanks again!
Hi
Here in the UK the ordinary Freeview EPG seems to have become unreliable. Win 10, WinTV Dual HD Tuner. Is this just me? Can I do anything about it. Film 4 is nearly always showing"No show details". BBC 1 is usually OK. Other channels come and go showing "No Show details".
Thank you
