Emby broke my LiveTV with the latest update so I thought I would try to get NextPVR running again. I used it years ago and liked it a lot but once I had guide data free in emby Premiere I just used it....until today when it broke and left me with no TV at all.
When I first installed NextPVR a little while ago I went to the guide in settings and it showed emby guide data as an option but when I just went back after trying to get my tuners working that is no longer an option and it only has the Schedules Direct login and the whole screen has changed from before.
Strange issue...I have been running NPVR v5 for, seems like forever, without issue. In fact, Monday night a show that had been on hiatus returned and recorded without issue. Tuesday night I wanted to check the program guide and NPVR wouldn't start. The link to the web gui results in "This site can't be reached". Opening the desktop app results in an error message (see pic). Trying to check the NPVR status from the task bar opens a blank box. I rebooted to no avail. Next step was to update to v6.1.5 - everything goes well until it gets to STARTING NPVR and it hangs forever. Checking Services shows NPVR is running but nothing works.
I completely uninstalled (preserved my config.xml, npvr.db3, and recording and recurring xml's) and tried to reinstall. Same issue - hangs at Starting NPVR. Nothing gets installed to Users/Public as in previous installs. Not quite sure what is going on but would appreciate some advice. I have also attached logs I preserved before uninstalling and wiping everything but not sure they captured what the issue could be.
When setting a scheduled recording for this particular program on this channel the recording consistently fails with error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".
All other scheduled recordings on any channel, including Talking Pictures record without error.
NextPVR Version : 6.1.5.231022
Operating System : Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
Release : 23H2
Build Number : 22631.3085
Tuner : Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD DVBT
I'm unsure where to look to identify the cause, any help gratefully received.

Long time lurker first time poster. Hoping this is the right place to post this question, if not I apologize.
So what I'm looking for help with is the EPG on my current setup. I currently have my NEXTPVR setup and recording just fine.
The issue I have is my IPTV service has 8000+ channels and the EPG for Canadian channels isn't great.
I've bought a membership at schedules direct and the auto map feature in NEXTPVR works great on the US channels but not so much the Canadian channels no matter what list I use.
So my question is there a way I can create a custom EPG for next PVR aka just the Canadian channels my family uses?
Ideally I would like to create a EPG of just the Canadian channels and if needed Ill assign each channel manually to schedules direct.
I just don't want to go through 8000 channels , and would like to simplify the channel listing in NEXTPVR so my family can have it for use as simple as possible.
I apologize if there is an easy answer to this, brand new to IPTV and NEXTPVR
I had been running NPVR for years on a small Windows 7 box (Asus E35M1-I, 4GB, hdd, TBS6981 DVB-S tuner, Hauppauge WinTV-duet DVB-T tuner) and I remember just installing NPVR and the tuner drivers and away it goes.
I recently wanted to swap to Linux and google says that there are Linux versions of all the packages I need...
No - not so easy...
First I downloaded a few Linux distributions and tried to install NPVR using the .deb file - failed each time with errors about missing os files and so on.
Then I thought I'd start with the device drivers - to find that this apparently involves finding files scattered around the web and recompiling the kernel to include the required drivers. What? I must have this wrong. How can this be so difficult?
I remember doing this sort of thing back in the 1980s but I had thought that modern Linux systems and software 'just worked' rather like, err, Windows?
Anyway - Can anyone recommend a proven recipe using any specific Linux version in order to get me going?
HI,
I decided to test nextpvr again at the weekend.
I'm currently running LibreElec 12 Nightly (Kodi 21) Generic on intel i3-6100 CPU/iGPU VAAPI with a hauppage quad DVB-t PCI-E adapter
I currently use TVHeadend and this setup works fine, but I sometimes like try the latest nexpvr to test as I reallly like the web interface and easy setup.
I noticed an odd issue:
With TVHeadend enabled: Suspend LibreElec, then wake, wait for the client to connect and all works as before.
With NextPVR enabled: Suspend LibreElec, then wake, wait for the client to connect but then no live tv, no future recordings, only current recordings work. If I then enable Tvheadend it also doesn't work, so for some reason the dvbt adapter seems to not work after suspend but only when using nextpvr. If I reboot it will all work again
I'm not sure if this is a known issue?
I know you will need some logs, so will try and test again sometime, let me know if you need anything more than just nextpvr/kodi debug logs or have any suggestions that may fix the issue that I can also test.
While working on yauiclient for the RPi, making the code cross platform and I came across several bug fixes and (I think improvements) to the code and have released yauiclient v2 to the wiki. It allows several customization options for audio passtrough and of note on newer machines h/w playback is much improved. In fact Dolby Vision and 8K video can be played from the video library. Deinterlacing is also automatically detected on newer machines but there is a performance hit so this can be disabled in the yauiclient.json file.
There are also some music playback improvements for the next release of NextPVR.
