Issues with NextPVR and RaspPi on Network
Posted by: matthewjhawkins - 2015-10-27, 12:25 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I have setup NextPVR on a Windows 10 machine as a server. I have enabled web server and kept the 8866 port and default username and password. Under the XBMC the access pin is at the default 0000 and also allows remote access.

When I am on my Windows 10 Machine (which is running NextPVR) i can access the web portal by going to https://localhost:8866

When I try to access the web portal on my MacBookPro by accessing the same address or https://127.0.0.1 it will not allow me.

I installed the NextPVR client on my OSMC Raspberry Pi Machine and entered the same credentials in the PlugIn settings and it cannot access the NextPVR server, so no go on TV on the Pi.

Any help or advice on the proper settings or setup for this to work with the Pi or even other machines?

Thanks!

Installing Ceton Infinitv 4 USB under Windows 10
Posted by: GlamRockCowboy - 2015-10-26, 05:01 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

Hello! First of all, here's my system setup:

BiostarG41D-M7 mobo
Core2Duo @ 3.0 Ghz.
4GB DDR2
XFX Radeon HD 5450
1.0 TB Seagate (primary)
250 GB Seagate (secondary)
Windows 10 Pro 32-bit

I am about to receive a Ceton Infinitv 4 USB, which I will be using with cableCARD via Comcast. My primary concern at this point is drivers, which I have been unable to install under Windows 10, even using Windows 7 or Windows 8 compatibility. I already know that I will only be able to receive "copy freely" programming, and I have no problem with that. The biggest headache, in addition to drivers, is that Ceton's installation software insists that WMC MUST be present in order to install the drivers, due to DRM issues. Given all of this, is there any way that the Ceton will work with nextPVR, or do I need to go to a Linux-based solution, such as Mythbuntu? Since I'm on SSDI, right now I simply can't afford an HDHomeRun, or anything similar. If there's any way that I can use the Ceton with nextPVR, please let me know! Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

  Some black channels in NextPVR
Posted by: grmilbrand - 2015-10-26, 04:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

I'm having a similar problem to others on this forum. I've searched and tried everything in threads I could find regarding this issue.
I get certain blanks channels when viewing live TV thru NPVR app. It's only about 3 of the 13 OTA channels that are affected. The channels affected all have about 70%+ signal strength.
Some of the channels work sometimes and then when I hit one that doesn't, the channels three affected don't work. The channels are 8.2, 15.2, and 43.3 (8.1, 15.1 and 43.1&2 always work!)

So far, I've downloaded the CCCP and SAF 6. I've enabled the NPVR programs through the firewall for public and private. I'm almost certain it's a decoder issue. The channels work fine in the HDHR view app all the time. As well as VLC through the HDHR config. (The channels also don't work in Kodi but I figure it's a related issue as I'm using the NPVR plugin for Kodi.)
The options I have for decoders are:

mpg2: LAV Video Decoder, Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD10), Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD10)
h264: LAV Video Decoder, Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD10), Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder

mpg1: LAV Audio Decoder, Cyberlink Audio Wizard, Cyberlink Audio Decoder (PDVD10)
ac3: LAV Audio Decoder, Cyberlink Audio Wizard, Cyberlink Audio Decoder (PDVD10)
e-ac3: LAV Audio Decoder
aac: LAV Audio Decoder, Cyberlink RealAudio Decoder (PDVD10), Cyberlink Audio Decoder (PDVD10)
he-aac: LAV Audio Decoder

I've attached my log and a 1min .ts file to see if it plays (it's NOT 0kb but it doesn't play for me in VLC).
Please, let me know what to try next. Thanks!
(Windows10)

I love the software!

Center channel on surround sound fades in and out
Posted by: drmargarit - 2015-10-26, 03:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I just changed my audio setup from stereo only with two front speakers to 5.1 with a sound bar (vizio). WAF plunged because the center channel fades in and out throughout the show. Any ideas on how to cure this?
Setup: computer HDMI -> Panasonic plasma ->spdif ->soundbar. Using LAV decoders.

  User Interface improvements
Posted by: martinu - 2015-10-25, 08:56 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

There are various ways in which the UI of NextPVR could be improved to make it easier/quicker to use:

1. On the screen which displays live video, add -/+ buttons to change channel, and allow digits to be used to enter a channel directly (eg press 3 3 and, after a suitable inter-digit timeout, it changes to ITV1+1, channel 33). Also add a Record button which instantly starts recording the channel which is currently being watched.

2. When displaying the TV Guide, implement a search facility (search by programme title) and again allow a channel number to be entered digit by digit to move the focus vertically to show listings for that channel and those numerically adjacent to it.

3. On Recordings | Ready Recordings and Recordings | Pending Recordings, if the mouse is on top of a recording or timed event, make a right-click bring up the Close/Play/Delete menu as an alternative to having to double-click on the entry to display this menu. If the cursor is anywhere else on the screen, bring up the existing right-click menu Open File / Live TV / Main Menu / Channels.

4. In general, in all situations where a menu selection would delete a timed event, stop a recording or delete a recorded program, insert an "are you sure" clarification to guard against accidentally clicking on the wrong menu item.

5. When double-clicking on a pending event which is currently recording, change the menu item "Cancel" to "Stop Recording" (with "are you sure" confirmation) as the latter wording is a more accurate description of what will happen.

Disable alternative data stream (ADS) possible?
Posted by: MiyoshiSaki - 2015-10-25, 11:30 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

My setup:
NextPVR 3.5.7 records to a folder on my NAS machine. ADS is NTFS only so when transferring to my NAS that isn't ntfs I get two extra files

<recording_name>.ts:metadata:$DATA
<recording_name>.ts:Timing.Info$DATA

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.Advanced mention changing StoreSeparateMetadataXml config.xml setting to "TRUE" would disable ADS and generate a .xml instead.

I do get the .xml, but on top of that I still get the two ADS files.

Is there no way to fully disable ADS?

Change Scheduled Recording AND NEW Vs OLD Episodes
Posted by: puck64 - 2015-10-25, 04:14 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi All,

I would like to alter a "Scheduled Recurring Recording" from "New Episodes" to a Day And Time.

I bring up the required Recurring Recording and select "UPDATE".
I then go to Recording Type and try to change it ..... but no go Sad
Pre/Post Padding and Keep all work.

I also have a question on how NEXTPVR determines if an Episode is NEW or OLD.
I have quite a few shows with ENCORE in the description column and would like to mark them as NOT NEW

Hope someone can help Big Grin

Comcast HDhomerun Prime and DRM issues
Posted by: steve232 - 2015-10-24, 09:10 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I've posted everywhere as I've taken 3 trips to the service center and 3 nights on calls with no luck getting a cablecard working in the HDHR Prime.
They want to charge me for a tech visit, I'll just return the equipment and stay with DISH.

The issue is when I bring up HDHR http://192.168.150.121/lineup.html, I see a DRM symbol on all channels.
No channel will stream thru VLC with that set.

No one at the end of the phone can fix it.
Anyone here have any suggestions?

Thanks
Steve

  Easy way to rename channels
Posted by: rykr - 2015-10-24, 04:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I have > 500 channels and many of them appear int he guide like AMC 0036 when the 36 is already there. So you see 36 and then AMC 0036.1002. Would like it to simply say 36 AMC

ANy way to easily do that or will I need to edit them one by one Sad
