"The tuner you were using was required for a recording. Would you like to switch to watching a recording, or exit back to the menu?"
This message suddenly appeared last night when live TV is displaying, and then keep happening randomly.
I dont have any record schedule, no recoding at all. uncheck EPG update, uncheck update during live tv.
These are my log files.
I have windows 10, AMD motherboard with quad processor, AMD Radeon 7700 Series video card, LG 60LN5600 TV, AMD HD Sound, SilconeDust HD HomeRun Connect for OTA channel capture, Schedules Direct for schedule
I am using AMD drivers for video and Microsoft drivers for sound (I have tried the AMD sound drivers but it makes no difference)
The normal play of recorded show is fine except the screen is a little under size and there is occasional flicker (the normal windows 10 screen is normal is size because I used the AMD Catalyst control to under scan slightly)
The major problem is fast forward. The sound will fast forward but the picture is very delayed (so much that sometimes it think it has crashed)
I really want this fixed, I love this program - it is so clean and simple and the only thing that really works outside of the old Microsoft PVR
Recently, I looked at my server's live TV buffer directory and noticed that there were many buffer files not deleted (~900 GByte worth), dating back to the installation of 3.5.7. Although, it was obvious that many of the buffer files were and are being deleted, some persist without being cleared. As an intermediate remedy, I have added some code to my postupdateEPG.bat, run nightly, to delete all *.ts files in the buffer directory, which, btw, is working for me.
My question: Would someone provide some insight as to why some files are being deleted, while others are not? Are there particular conditions where the buffer files would not be deleted?
By my user id, you might guess that I am a long time Replay TV user. But... been pretty much converted to NextPVR with Kodi for 2 years now. Only the wife still regularly uses Replay TV.
Replay TV had a nice "search" function called "Replay Zones". It allowed you to search for upcoming shows by large categories, like "Football" or any other major sport. Also allowed you to search for Movies by how many stars or genre or other general criteria. It came in very handy when you just wanted to see what movies were coming on TV in the next week or 2.
I have Searchlite installed and do use it from time to time, but it mainly works if you are looking for a specific show or movie. I don't see any way to just look for movies in general much less by genre.
Anyone know of a plugin that might do something near what I am describing?
Just upgraded my rather elderly Mygica Satbox Mini to a TT S2-4600 and the epg wont update overnight, if you try to do it manually it crashes right at the end of the scan (see attached logs), it does pull some info, but only the current and next item per channel.
If it's going to mean a lengthy wait for a fix (wife and child use it as well), Is there a (preferably free) EPG scraper that will do UK FTA satellite channels and Irish DVB-T2 channels ?
Hello
I'm from Italy have Next PVR 3.5.7 on Windows 10 (x64). It was working fine and then for no apparent reason (after a channels scan) the service "NPVR Recording Service" fail to start with the following message:
Code:
Unable to start the service NPVR Recording Service on the local computer
Error 1067: Unexpected end of the process
Running "NRecord.exe RUN" I've the following error message (here the full log):

When I try to start the service from the Start menu it shows the following error dialog:
Today I tried to set up Channel Groups. I tried several times. I checked my version of empty.db3 and found I had an old version. Downloaded NextPVR again and reinstalled. Tried setting up Channel Groups again. Failed again. Ran NextPVR.exe -updatedb Tried again. Success! I originally downloaded NextPVR 3.5.7 on 15/9/2015.
I had Channel Groups working okay in TVListings but wanted to also set them up under TV Guide.
Hi,
I have recently upgraded to 3.5.7 (and installed the recommended codex pack) and now get lots of artifacts in my recordings- everything worked fine before. People turn blockly and blocky ghosts appear when the scene changes rapidly. Watching files within NPVR is so bad I have had to resort to other players (such as VLC). These display the corruption, but carry on going.
I have looked for any settings to change recording settings, but there do not seem to be any, so I am at a bit of a loss. While recording the processor is not maxed out or anything, according to task manager
My system: AMD Athlon Dual Core 5050e 2.60GHz, running windows 7 home premium, 4GB of RAM
recording hardware (as reported by NPVR): Hauppage WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T dual tuner card, REALTEK 2831U_BDA (a cheap USB tuner)
I have attached the logs.
