Okay only 2 issues but annoying none the less.
1) MPEG4(divx/xvid) and Occasionaly MPEG2 Playback appears in an Active Movie window even though everything else is set up as full screen

2) when movies/live tv is playing correctly in full screen the on screen controlls (when I move the mouse/use the remote) replace the video with a black background.

Any help would be great, other than that its a kick-ass PVR.

1/ I've only seen this with MPEG2, any only when the Cyberlink decoder is set as my preferred, and I'm using VMR. The Cyberlink decoder is not compatible with VMR. What decoder are you using and with renderer (VMR7/9/Overlay)?

2/ Sorry, I dont understand the question.

I'm using the Overlay render and the Decoder is set to default (I've tried the other ones Cyberlink, NVIDIA and Intervideo and default works the best)

VMR7 isn't supported on my machine and VMR9 causes more problems.

Machine Spec:
1.9GHzXP Althon
256Mb DDR400
40Gb 7200
Gainward Geforce 4 MX440
Onboard Sound AC97 5.1
Hauppage PVR250

Do you have a particular divx/xvid file that it always happens with?

Mostly it happens with DIVX.

With regards to Q2. If you say pause a video/skip thru a translucent controll pannel is displayed. when I do it the controll pannel is not translucent and I can see the video behind it

Hi Guys,
I think I'm seeing the same thing. I've just stopped using my MVP and thought I'd see what GBPVR did on the desktop. I don't have any TV cards btw. I can play mpg files ok but as soon as I try and play Divx or XVvid files then I might get 1 seconds worth of video then the duration\controls overlay comes on the screen and the video in the background goes black but you can hear the audio. What's weird is if I view the desktop on another machine using XP's remote desktop feature then the video can be seen playing, albeit very jerky. I'm using Overlay as i don't think the VMR stuff is supported on my machine.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Do you have a DivX or XVid decoder installed on you machine? This can cause you to get just audio.

OK I admit it I should have checked all the obvious stuff first. I **hate** codecs and find them incredibly frustrating to work with and understand. I've just upgraded to the latest codecs all in one pack last weekend so the machine should be up2date. And indeed according to Gspot it has at least 3 codecs installed to play the divx\xvids I'm trying to. And the Hauppuage mvp beta sw is playing these ok whilst accepting its limitations. But WPM9 won't play them, its trying to go off and find codecs, which it doesn't and just plays a black screen and the sound. I think its time for a rebuild or at least a restore from a driveimage I took a while back.
However what I don't understand is how can I sort of view GBPVR playing these files from a remote XP desktop session?
I'll update with more once I've rebuilt.
Cheers

If its using Overlay, the video probably wont be visible via remote desktop (because it is done via the video card drivers as part of rendering the display). VMR might be visible.

If the Xvid/DivX videos can be played back via WMP9, then it'd be able to played back via Overlay/VMR with GB-PVR.

Hi,

I'm now get a problem with live-tv displaying in a seperate ActiveMovie window.

This was working fine until I installed MAGIX Photos on CD and DVD 2.0.

I don't know if it's related, but I had to stop GB-PVR so that I could install Photos on CD and DVD as it just hung otherwise. I also have to stop GB-PVR whenever I want to run Photos on CD and DVD as again it just hangs.

I'm using VMR9 and a PVR250.

Superb product by the way.
