I've just tried your database here. It takes about 4 seconds to load all your listings, so a lot faster than what you're seeing on your machine.

I dont have any solid suggestions for improving the performance on you machine. Maybe try defragging your drive, or adding additional memory to the machine if it looks low, and maybe get use to not trying to go to the TV Guide as the very first thing you do when you start the app.

Hi,

have you tried it on the mvp ?

I have tested it now on the pc and there it took only few seconds - on the mvp it took round about 25 sec.

I just checked on my MVP, and it took exactly the same amount of time (about 4 seconds). I expected that would be the case, but thought I'd better check.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I'm experience something similar on my XP SP3 machine. I see that I takes an considerable amount of time to write the configuration once you hit the OK button on the config and loading GBPVR.
On my client pc using vista this does not happened. I tried searching the web but no luck. Any ideas?

This can be normal. It checks consistency of lots of stuff in the database when you hit the OK button in the config app. How long it takes normally varies depending on the number of channels you have, the number of days of listings, the number of recordings. I'm not that concerned about how long this takes, since configuration isnt part of the day-to-day usage of the application.
