I know you are using the OSD to do the menus and whatnot, but could there be a user defined function to disable OSD durring playback ONLY. I can live with out on screen graphics, playing back recorded shows, untill the driver problem is fixed in later releases by hauppauge.

Do you get SDK support from hauppauge for problems like this?

I develop with the Matrox Digisuite LE/LX/DTV cards, and matrox is usually really good at responding to driver fixes and what not.

Thanks.

When I tried this on a machine that exhibits the problem, the machine just locks up as soon as I try to show the main menu after watching the first video. Effectively the only fix is to not use the OSD ever.

They've answered a few questions in the past, but in general I have no support (or SDK) from Hauppauge. I have asked them about this specific problem, but it didn't really result in anything. Hauppauge dont really use the OSD themselves, and I'm guessing its probably something that only Conexant are familiar with.

Hi,

I have an MSI motherboard, Athlon XP2600+, I used to get the OSD freezes as well, since upgrading to the latest PVR 350 drivers from SHSPVR.com I have had no problems (with the OSD). Solid as a rock. Unfortunately with GBPVR, I still get the Video freezing , but that is related to time Im watching for (I checked this by running sage with the UI out the PVR 350 Tv out for over a week and got no freezes or crashes) .

A word of caution - follow exactly how to remove the old drivers, otherwise you get odd things happening, it takes a while to do, but the new drivers are a real step forward.

Cheers
