I've used daemon-tools and alcohol for at least 5 if not 10 years, so it's not that I don't understand the software, it's how it works with GB-PVR. Does GB-PVR allow you to mount and unmount ISO images from within the software, if so how would I be able to do this?

In windows I mounted a DVD ISO and if I select the menu DVD from GB-PVR it says there's no DVD and I'm assuming that it's because it's only looking at my real DVD player and not the virtual one.

While in myvideo 3 release canidate 2 I browsed to an ISO image, but if I click on it nothing happens. If I go back to windows and mount the image and then click it while in GB-PVR it will play, but it has a white flickering at the bottom of the screen. While I have one ISO mounted I tried browsing with myvideos and selecting another ISO and if I do it will play the one that I mounted manually. If I don't mount anything manually then the screen just sits there blank.

I'm assuming that what I'm trying to do the software is able to do this. The reason is that I asked a question about alcohol in a previous post and also the gb-pvr software seems to ask about daemon-tools, which seems that the parameters would get passed. If nothing is passed then it shouldn't care if I use alcohol, a real DVD or daemon-tools....right?

Normally you can just browse to a .iso file in the Video Library and play it, and behind the scenes it'll mount the volume and start playback...but there is a well known bug that stops this happening in v0.97.13. It worked in earlier releases, and is fixed again for the v0.98 release. Try it again with v0.98 when its out in the next day or two.

Version 0.98?? Surely it's good enough for a 1.0 release by now???

I tried this in 0.98 and it did not work. It opens the .iso file and just sits at black screen. I can hit exit and recover.

have a search through the options for daemon tools. you have to enable some autoload opion or dissable confirm dialogues or something similar (sorry, away from my PC at the mo, so can't remember exact option...) so that it mounts and plays isos (as initiated by GBPVR) straight away.

Works fine here on my couple of machines with v0.98.8. All I can suggest is checking your daemon tools settings in the config app.

Got it working Sub. It was my error with the Daemon Tools. Looks like the config is not allowing you to change the Daemon Tools folder. I change it and it reverts back the the defaults. I just went into the XML and edited it by hand. Works great.

Thanks,
Paul

It does let you change it, and does store the value, but each time you go back to the browse button it defaults back to the original default filename.
