AVI is container format that usually contains an xvid or divx formatted video file. Use the GSpot utility to find out what codecs are needed for a particular file.

GSpot:

Hope that helps.

Do they play through Windows Media player?
if so, possibly try re-installing the codecs.

Sounds like you need to install some codecs then. For example, if you're trying to play XVID avi files, then you need to install an XVID decoder.

If gspot is not finding the compatible decoders, then its a good sign GB-PVR wont either. Try installing a different decoder than the one you're currently using.

Are you saying that GSpot says there are compatible codecs loaded, and everything is ok?

What are you using to output the video to your tv?

Are you using a PVR350 video out? If you are then it probably will not work.
