so i had the pvr660 working earlier today on new installation. gbpvr worked alright. then, i install the wintv pvr usb 2. then non of them worked. i unstalled the wintv's drivers and reinstalled them. i can now watch tv /record in wintv2000. however, whenever i bring up gb-pvr , i can't watch/record shows using either devices. (i'm testing both right now, so using only one at a time). any ideas?

zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look

(if you're using recent drivers, you need to select the 'Hauppauge PVR2 USB2" option, not the older 'Hauppauge PVR USB2' option. Hauppauge changed the driver name)

got my diamond pvr660 to work this morning in arcsosft total media but still errors in gbpvr. also got wintv pvr2 to work in wintv2000 application, but errors in gbpvr.

right now, i'm concerned about getting pvr660 working since i'm keeping that one and giving parents the wintv.

where are the passwords to epg guide stored? in any of the logs?

I cant see any attempts to use the PVR USB2 in these logs. It only shows two records done on your pvr660.

Can you schedule two recordings for the same time, to force it to use both capture sources, then zip and attach the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log file?

No, they're not shown in the logs. They're in the database. If I ever need the database, I ask people to email it to me rather than posting it.

Well, i reinstalled gb-pvr to a different directory and now I think the .NET 2.0 is broken.

Looks like I'm gonna give up on this stupid 4 yo laptop...arggh.

Though other programs like arcsoft media and beyond tv work, i can't download the EPG in those programs either.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

A couple of users have managed to get that during clean installs - I'm not sure exactly how (I wonder if its something todo with the user managing to start GB-PVR prior to the config app being automatically started at the end of the install???)

Anyway... there is an easy fix. Copy the empty.db3 file to a file called gbpvr.db3 over writing any previous file of the same name.

Hi sub, this doesn't really have anything to do with the original posters issues but I have a question. A friend of mine has a Diamond Xtremetv PVR 660 and would like to set up GBPVR to work with her card. However, this card doesn't apper to be in the list of supported cards as when I look to schoose which card is supported the PVR 660 is not in the list but hte pvr 600 is. So I will have ot edit the direct ini file to enter hte information for hte PVR 660? The reason for me wanting to help her get GBPVR working with her card is that the app that the pvr came with totalmedia seems ot have a glitch in which will it will not record repeat recordings ie a recording that is scheduled to be done weekly. I'm not sure if the pvr 660 is similar to the pvr 600 which you support but the pvr 660 for what I have read has an onboard hardware encoder. To the original poster, you aid you can't get hte tv guide to work in totalmedia right? Did you connect your source for tv with the coax cable? if not connecting via composite/S-Video wil not let you use the guide features in totalmedia.

Thanks sub. I hope to see this card as a choice of cards to choose from in the list in future versions but it is easy enough to add manualy for now.
